They teach eventing, hunter/jumper and dressage. As a life long rider, my two children and I have received the best lessons I have ever experienced. We started out as weekly lesson riders and happily progressed to be boarders. The owner, Kathryn, is a superb instructor for riders, trainer of horses and show coach. This facility has an indoor ring attached to the barn and two outdoor rings. The barn manager, Don, cares for the horses with total dedication. I've switched up feed and medications and they always make sure that my horses are getting whatever is best for them. They're opening and welcoming to everyone, and the people who board here are all super nice. The barn culture is overwhelmingly friendly and everyone is always offering a helping hand. The horses are top priority, I've never even thought about moving my two anywhere else. Even as a young person, I don't think anything here is outdated or could be done in a updated manner, I spend hours at a time at the barn and I've never thought that the barn owners should change their ways - as I mentioned before the horses come first and they are all wonderfully cared for and loved. In addition there is a nice riding ring and a round pen on the property along with hours and hours worth of trails around the barn for trail riding. Some boarders complain of vet fees, though personally I've not had any sort of issues with the welfare of my animals. Maybe the reason other boarders have thousands of vet fees doesn't rest with the barn owners but their own ability to care for their horse. Also, there is no one here named Gary.

My girl is super excited to be learning not only about riding a horse, but also how to care for and engage with horses. Her instructor is a young woman, but seems to be very responsible and knowledgeable. I've enjoyed seeing the progress in just two weeks. My girl has been excited to not only care for and ride, but also learn about some of the treats that the horses like The only downside I've discovered, so far is there is a low level of communication about what to expect, what to do when you arrive for the first time, and even how to make payment. I was relieved to know that, in addition to the cash box out on the table, they do take cards and even tap to pay. The owner, Kathy, is very focused on running the place and busy like most small business owners, and I don't think she has automated processes, or anyone work in the office to support her operations. There's plenty parking and the outdoor seating area has a great view to see what's going on in the ring.

I had somewhat limited interactions with her as she was never my instructor but I was in the ring many times while she was teaching a different lesson. I remember one time when I was scared to canter for the first time and my horse was being bad and Jenn walked up to me and basically yelled at me that I was letting the horse walk all over me ( I was but that's not how to help a scared little kid) and asked me do I even want to ride cause I should just get off. I Told her I was scared to canter and she said I can just walk the rest of my lesson and went back to her side of the ring where her ridders were waiting. I was on the verge of tears. she acted this way with some of the ridders. the whole time I was there it felt like they wanted my to compete and that I wouldn't fit in if I did not. I wish I left much sooner.

We parked in the lot for the ski touring, crossed the road, and were on our way. We did the North and South loop of the Acorn trail, totaling about 2.5-3 miles. The trail was decently traversed, but I would definitely recommend hiking/snowboots in the winter. It was very peaceful and beautiful here - tall pines and some big pastures.
