Expectations were not made clear during my appointment. I was told that IVF New England was closed on the weekends, and so when I started my cycle to call the next business day to schedule my appointment for day 3, unless it fell on a weekend, in which case I would have to call the MA office to have the tests done. I was told that I would be able to get to work without being too late for 7:30 after having my blood drawn. Fast forward to Monday (day 2 of my cycle) and I called to let them know I would be in the next day to do the blood work. They informed me that I should have called ASAP to schedule the appointment, and that the only opening was at 7:50, and that I needed an ultrasound as well. When I said I was confused, the nurse rudely replied "if you'd let me finish." Then she tried to transfer me to schedule the ultrasound, and hung up on me. This is a very stressful and confusing thing, dealing with infertility, and I will NOT be going back to IVF New England. read more

I had reproductive endocrinologist in Albany who told me I would most likely not be able to get pregnant. Thank god RSC never gave up on me. They were wonderful, not only checking me out, but my husband as well. We only had one chance since it's all insurance would cover, and they did everything they could to make it work. All the nurses were wonderful and have handled all my nutty calls. Their averages for pregnancy are above the national averages...I'm proof. I'm due in September 2009. read more

My RE, Dr. Pauli, has great bedside manner, organized and knowledgeable in the field of fertility. And though I leave messages on their voicemail for every questions and concerns, they always get back to me with answers. Most of the staff are nice and approachable. Have been very disappointed with the entire experience with this clinic. The only thing they pay attention to is when you owe them money. They are rude and seem to not care how many hoops and last minute things they put you through. The nursing staff is incompetent and our nurse has gone watercolors many years ago. If we weren't so far along in the process and faced with so few options for other clinics, we would have definitely left them. They claim to be GLBT friendly but in our experience, that was not the case at all. I am 100% willing to elaborate on our outrageous experience (continuing to this day). I wish I could give even more stars. Wonderful people doing God's work. I have two beautiful, healthy sons as a product of two courses of ivf. My first was in 2011 with a fresh embryo..Andrew will be 2 on 12/29/11! Second was a frozen embryo transfer in 2013, Colin was born on 10/9/13. I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff here. Kind, compassionate, honest, and speak in clear terms--not medical jargon. If your struggling with the loneliness of infertility, I can't guarantee that you'll be successful but I can unequivocally say that they will do everything medically possible to try to help you attain your dream of building a family. read more

Very disappointing. Not satisfied with the nursing team. They do not reply to patient's serious health condition. For them , a high TSH level patient who is pregnant is not a big issue and can be ignored without treatment. I am very disappointed with the clinic who did not take care of this critical condition, I never expected such response from them. read more

After a year with Boston IVF where we felt like cattle on a farm and suffered an ectopic pregnancy that was misdiagnosed...we went to RSC in Lexington. I cannot stress enough how wonderful the staff is. We used Dr. Glatstein and he was amazing. He reviewed my charts and immediately could explain why the ectopic (the pregnancy actually affixed to my ovary and ruptured) happened where the Boston IVF folks just stared at me blankly and called it "highly unusual". I went through two rounds of IUI's with RSC. They took extra care, including providing heating pads for my back as I waited after the insemination (at Boston IVF you just get up and go). After two failed IUI's we went to IVF and were very fortunate to conceive on our first try. The staff was amazing - incredibly kind and thoughtful. When I went for my ultrasound after the implantation and learned that there was only one baby and my levels were very high, the ultrasound tech gave me the warmest hug - I felt she was as happy as we were. We now have a healthy baby boy that arrived in October 2010. We are so thankful for the entire RSC team! read more

I was treated for infertility at RSC in 2007 and 2008, after being told by a doctor in Seattle that my FSH was too high to get pregnant. In contrast, RSC was aware of the most recent studies on this issue and while I was a long-shot case, they felt it still reasonable to try. My partner and I are now the fortunate parents of a beautiful and healthy 4 year old girl. Infertility is something of a marathon. You have to take the right drugs at the right times, show up regularly for blood work and ultrasounds, etc. RSC is an extremely efficient and well-run clinic. They do not leave things to chance. They are careful and meticulous in their work. They go above and beyond to help you follow the treatment protocol. This gives you the best chance for success. Boston is a highly competitive environment for infertility treatment. I feel that RSC differentiates itself through its excellent work, excellent staff, and careful attention to each patient. Don't settle for anything less. read more

Let me start by saying that we did get pregnant, so in the end they did their jobs, and there were several very nice, competent nurses. BUT I feel that we got pregnant in spite of IVF NE, not because of them. They could not have made it more confusing, inaccessible, inconvenient, expensive or belittling an experience. Just a taste of what we and some of our friends have experienced: - You can't call and speak to someone. You have to leave a message, and heaven forbid you call after 3:00 - they're not there anymore. - Your doctor won't call you after egg retrieval, which is a surgical procedure, or after you have a successful pregnancy test, which just illustrates their lack of caring. - They won't provide you with coherent timelines or expectations, so better hope you can just leave work whenever they feel like calling you in. - Good luck if you have a job. They don't work around patients' schedules. Again, if you have a job, don't expect them to be able to move an appointment by 15 minutes so that you don't need to take the day off. Also, some procedures they only do at specific times of the day. - Don't expect billing to get the numbers right. On the good side, this is the only department that will call you proactively, because you can't play if you don't pay, even if they haven't actually sent you a bill. - Don't expect any privacy. They will yell your business across the waiting room or talk about sensitive issues, like the quality of your eggs, with just a curtain separating you from the happy couple next door. So in summary, it can work, but don't count on a nice experience. read more

Grrr....Not happy with my treatment. The feeling of loneliness you feel ordinarily was further compounded by my MD abruptly leaving. Not happy and too frustrated to type an epic here but all i wanted was my team invested in my care. And that didn't happen. What peeves me is that just now i'm realizing the problems at RSC. I want to know why all the women Md's at this practice left? As a patient I deserved to know, especially if my care was going to, and ultimatley did suffer. read more

I never saw my doctor, the nurses were impossible to reach, no one spoke to each other or collaborated to coordinate my care, and after I thought I was done with the nightmare I received three additional surprise bills totaling almost $1000. Was supposed to get a test done here and could never get someone on phone to book my appointment. This just did not happen once but multiple times. Either the patient services sucks at this place or they are not interested in picking your call. Always be prepared to leave your name, number, DOB on a Voice mail each time everytime, if you do get through you are one of the lucky one or probably patient services is in a good mood. read more

I started off thinking that this was a really nice place even though my husband had reservations. The facility itself is well maintained, clean, and nice. In fact, the staff who work directly with you are fairly nice (intake nurse, blood work, ultrasound...). I never waited long for an appointment once at the clinic but did have to wait almost a month to finally see the doctor. This was in part due to the holiday season so I will cut some slack. As for the medical records department, the people who answer the phone when you call, and a couple of the nurses, I have nothing nice to say. They were very rude and uncooperative to my husband every time he called (he was a patient too) and then would seemingly respond to my same request. I finally reached the end of my rope when it took repeated written and phone requests to get my medical records sent to me when I moved to a different state. They have some policy where they will send you one copy after 10 days and if you want more you pay. Well, my one copy never came. I then had my doctor's office call to request one. When I called RSC, they told me they had processed this request. Wrong...I got to my doctor 2 weeks after the request was sent and after I was verbally told it was sent...it never was sent. I then requested that they fax it while I sat in my appointment. They would not. Said they would need to charge me and that they had sent one. Annoying, rude, lame, lazy??? I haven't found the word that I am looking for to describe the ineptitude of this place. Once I finally got transferred to a nurse after repeatedly asking for someone to read off some numbers from my chart (very simple), I had to leave a message. This nurse did call me back within about 5 minutes but was so rude I wanted to just hang up and give up. I did end up getting her to read me off some numbers while my doctor sat and waited. How embarrassing. I guess I will wait and see if the medical records are ever sent. Ugh. How can a place be nice in person and incompetent on the phone? read more

New client....so far not a great experience. I called, as instructed, on Day 1. I have literally spent my entire day on the phone off and on, and specifically from the hours of 2pm-5pm whereby both offices closed for the day and I received no follow up call. Apparently the two doctors offices, IVF New England, and the satellite hospital they work with that is closer to my home, don't know how to communicate with each other and don't have each other's correct fax numbers. Nonetheless, the satellite hospital was recommended to me by IVF New England. I'm not certain why both of these businesses expect their patients to waste their time calling back-and-forth and checking and rechecking office fax numbers. At a certain point in time, administrative staff is expected to, and should have, taken over the situation. Naturally, by the time I was completely fed up and able to call to complain it was 5:02 PM and of course both offices were closed. We have had two wonderful experiences with Dr. Glatstein and his team: an IVF cycle in 2015 (which produced our son) and a second cycle in 2017 (I am now eight weeks pregnant -- fingers crossed). During both cycles, I was really struck by the kindness, sensitivity, and attention to detail shown by everyone at IVF New England. IVF is a complicated process, and we really appreciated how clearly Dr. Glatstein explained our options and his willingness to consider different possible approaches to our particular situation. I got the impression that Dr. Glatstein is extremely conscientious about staying abreast of the latest developments in his field, which gave me a lot of confidence in his judgment. And while I'd recommend IVF New England based purely on their consistently good medical outcomes, it's just as important that the nurses, ultrasound techs, and office staff are (in addition to being good at their jobs) lovely people who made an emotionally charged process downright pleasant with their kindness and support. We feel very lucky to have been treated at IVF New England. read more

This place is terrible in almost every way. I have donated eggs in the past at other locations and IVF NE was the worst by far. You cannot get ahold of anyone in the office, they are terrible about getting back to you, they expect you just to know everything that is going on, and as soon as you try to take the initiative they treat you like you are some kind of idiot. The nurses are the worst; if you need an answer you will not get one, and if you need help with something you might as well forget it. They were never available to help and when they were they made it seem like I was an inconvenience. The whole ordeal was unorganized and it was a mess that left me to do most of the work on my own. I was handling a lot of the work that the employees were responsible for, and it caused me to be stressed out the whole time. Basically, the whole ordeal was stressful, unorganized, poorly communicated, and sometimes there were attitude problems from the employees. However, there were a couple nurses, especially the ones who did the actual procedure, that were extremely nice and understand of the situation. read more

I was referred by my OBGYN to RSC New England for some testing and treatment related to my infertility. When they told me there was an office that was close by, I thought this would be ultra-convenient for me. Boy was I wrong. Firstly, I waited almost 3 months before I could get an appointment with the doctor. When I finally saw her, I was optimistic as she described the procedures and testing I was to undergo. I was told all the testing would be done in my local office and that I would not have to travel the almost 2 hours to the alternative sites for the procedures. I had one procedure done in office, and then the next day, immediately started to feel cramping and severe pain. When I called my local office, they told me they didn't have on-site capability to treat me for follow up there, and that I had to drive (WHILE I WAS DOUBLED OVER IN PAIN) nearly 2 hours to the other facility for follow up. YEAH RIGHT. The only other option given me was to go to the ER, as my OBGYN could not see me since she didn't do the procedure. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. Finally, after recovering from that ordeal, RSC was supposed to forward all of my results back to my OBGYN. Despite having signed 2 (TWO) medical releases in person at the office, and faxing 1 in, when I arrived at my scheduled OBGYN appointment, what a surprise, RSC had never sent my records or their report. My OBGYN had to go out of the way and argue with them on the phone to get the records. Needless to say, my husband and I will not be returning for future "treatment" at this facility. read more

My wife and I went in for a consultation hoping to have a second child with a little help. We met with a doctor in Bedford, NH who gave us all of the scenarios that could happen. After about one hour of talking we decided to proceed and were told we would have to travel to Lexington, MA. Office on a weekend morning and be there between 8-9:00 am. We asked the doctor about cost and were told we will except whatever the insurance company gives us and you will not be billed anymore. We went and each had blood drawn and were told unfortunately it was not going to happen for us. We already have a beautiful little boy and wanted one more child however we would have to except one. We knew within 15 minutes of leaving this information. Fast forward to five months later and I got a bill mind you it was under $200. No big deal. When I called them they put me through to billing. I told the girl what I we told about the insurance and she told me "the doctor never said that." I said yes she did say that and I was told that was my deductible well I have a zero deductible plan. She started ranting and going on and on about the doctor never said that and I simply stated "I didn't know you were in room with us". She was a very nasty person and truly unprofessional. It's a shame it's not the money it's the principle, we were either lied to or they're trying to scam us for more money. The test I'm sure cost money to test two small vials of blood and I don't mind paying but to he told one thing and have another happen is a blatant lie and to have a person working there that starts yelling at a "client" unprovoked is shameful. I'm sorry but this put a very bad taste in my mouth. I think it's all about the money with them especially after we went some place else and got different results than they gave us in 15 minutes. I was very optimistic about this place when I found it. I saw good reviews and I moved to Massachusetts to be close to it My initial experiences were very positive My nurse seemed very warm and caring and my doctor, along with everyone I encountered assured me that they could abide by my wishes as I am a very modest and shy person They told me they get many patients who are religious whom they can and do accommodate. My initial unhappy experience was with the sonogram They do their sonograms in a way that no other facility I've ever been to does them, with the tech sitting at the foot of the exam table at eye level with what I don't want anyone to see. They finally accommodated me but it took a lot of effort on my part and subsequent convincing of the techs after they were told what to do It caused me anxiety as I am not of a personality that enjoys feeling like a pain or a complainer I simply need what I need and, when I'm told that it can be done, I expect it to be done and not have to repeatedly fight about it. I also feel that there is a lack of information when it comes to the side effects of the medications used in a cycle. After my first trigger shot, I went to the ER with severe abdominal pain and was told by multiple ER personnel that it was likely the trigger shot, including one nurse with her own experience and two coworkers of hers with other severe effects. Even after mentioning this to my nurse the next day and asking why I wasn't warned, she stated she doubted that that was it and the percentage of people who experience side effects is low. The worst was my transfer day. After making it known day in and day out for the entire length of two treatments, during the transfer procedure I felt completely violated. I was exposed and none of my known wishes were accommodated. If you have definite desires about how you want to be treated and don't want to have to keep feeling like you have to fight all the time, reconsider going here. Don't get too attached to your doctor; you will not see much of them and they likely will perform none of your actual procedures. There is very little structure for handling complaints. I felt that every time I complained, the next person would act ignorant of my wishes. I don't know why every patient can't be treated the way they say they will. read more
