I live nearby and stopped in for the very first time today to get a coffee. Maybe its the awkward parking lot and the unassuming outside, but it never occurred to me to get my beloved coffee here. I ordered a medium caramel iced latte and it was GOOD. You can tell its good coffee, made to order, and just perfect. There's a few reasons for my 4 start rating. 1 - there was no AC on, and the line was SO long, I was sweating by the time I got to the cash register to order. Not a huge deal. My biggest complaint is the price. I paid $5 for that medium latte. I know, Starbucks is not much cheaper, so for the quality this place is way better. But I can't make this a regular spot for monetary reasons alone. One of the things I did like is that they don't rush around to make your coffee/food. Some people might not like this, and if there's even a small line, be prepared to wait. But for me, I'd rather spent a few more minutes there and have my food/coffee CORRECT (looking at you, Dunkin!) All in all - a super chill coffee house/lunch spot that I will definitely go back too when I need a really good dose of caffeine that's made right. read more

Peter is the Titan of Caffeine in Woburn. Always happy, always cheerier, and prompt as he can be given the line is almost always out the door. His staff does a great job moving things along. Don't be fooled by the name - Boston King Coffee is actually in Woburn. My boyfriend and I carpool to work along Route 3 and have been looking for a good place to grab a coffee in the morning. BKC is within a one-mile radius of a Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, and a Whole Foods, so it took us a while before we decided to stop and try it. The coffee is great - not as strong as Starbucks or Whole Foods and never burnt - and my boyfriend really enjoys the lattes. Try a muffin or a cookie - delicious! I wish that I worked or lived closer to BKC because I would love to sit and enjoy my coffee while reading a book in their nice little shop, but I always have to run to work. I would love it if BKC offered a fruit cup or yogurt, because I can't eat a muffin every day for breakfast. That is my only complaint. read more

I have to say I've been very impressed with Boston King. Firstly, and probably most importantly, their coffee is great. OK, now that we've gotten the important stuff out of the way, let's talk about the food. I really lo e the food here. The breakfast sandwiches are fresh and delicious, as are their lunch offerings. Been loving the chicken salad wraps lately. Oh, and did I mention they have great coffee? Don't want to forget that. The service here is also really commendable. I've never seen any of their employees with so much as a frown on their face. Always very friendly. I have to admit I giggle a little every time I say their name, but I'm lovin the food. read more

Mixed feelings about this place. I've been coming here on and off for about two years. I remember absolutely hating it because the first time I ever came in I felt the staff was quite reticent to me while being very nice to all the other customers. I still feel like the girl behind the counter is quite rude depending on whether you catch her on a good day or not. Peter is very sweet though. My mixed feelings go beyond the service. I love to support small businesses, but the portions here are beyond overpriced for such a small size. It really stinks because I find myself going to Starbucks rather than here just because of the price, and Starbucks is considered overpriced by most DD avid bostonians. In summary, this is a good place but prepare your pockets and do not come here hungry as one small sandwich will definitely not fill you up. read more

I was't especially excited when my friend and I pulled in to find this place in a small strip mall sort of setting, but once we got inside it looked nice. We each ordered an iced latte and split an everything bagel with cream cheese, price came to just over $10. The bagel was great and we enjoyed the coffee even though it wasn't very strong. I especially liked that, even though it was iced, there was still foam on top. Staff was also super friendly and seating was plentiful. I love this place! The food is always fresh and delicious. But, I really come for the espresso and the iced coffee. Each drink is hand-made by Peter, a coffee wizard. You won't have to order here long before they know your coffee by heart. Plus, it's such a quiet and comfortable place, you can really enjoy your beverage in peace. Ask Peter about the coffee and he can tell you things like how they drink it in Italy or Paris, and where the beans come from. This is a daily stop for me now. Never again will I order lunch from Boston King Coffee. They have messed up my order four times too many. Today was the last straw. I really want to like this place. They have a significant amount of coffee and tea paraphernalia and they seem to know their stuff when it comes to those two products (hence the two stars). Unfortunately, that is where their expertise ends. We have ordered sandwiches and salads from here a number of times for lunch at work. They actually have very decent offerings and if you can find something on the menu which is EXACTLY what you want, then you are good to go. The problem(s) arise when you attempt to customize your order. And I don't mean customize as in create an entirely new sandwich.....I mean it in the sense of "hold the tomato, please". It doesn't matter how nicely you ask or how sweet the person on the other end of the phone is, they will not get it right. This has happened to me pretty much every time we have ordered from here. At first, it was little things, like forgetting to hold the tomato. Then it escalated into receiving a salad bowl full of mixed greens with a couple mushrooms and roasted red peppers on top....huh?!?! My salad was supposed to have bacon, egg, avocado, black olives, sprouts, yellow peppers, cucumber and sunflower seeds along with the mushrooms and roasted red peppers. What the hell happened?! Of course, they apologized up and down over the phone, but this was little relief as I stared down at my bowl of rabbit food. The salad incident was about five months ago. Today I thought, "what the heck, I'll try it again". Bad idea. First off, their prices have gone up considerably, but the quality has not improved. I received a turkey club sandwich with extra salty turkey and only one small piece of bacon on it. Let me assure you, one piece of bacon does not a club sandwich make! My coworker ordered a chicken salad wrap with no avocado. The wrap (of course) had avocado on it, which basically makes her gag (not fun to see while you're trying to work). Not only that, but the wrap was very small and it cost $7...again....huh? Our other coworker ordered a mixed green salad. Thankfully the woman asked what he wanted on it, otherwise, he would have ended up with a bowl of mixed greens with no vegetables. In the end, he received a bowl of mixed greens with some cucumbers and tomatoes on top for $6.50....holy hell!!! I declare shenanigans on you, Boston King Coffee. I am all set with your lack of quality control and your overly-inflated prices. I bid you adieu....forever! read more

I really really love their coffee. The barista understands that good strong coffee doesn't need to taste burnt or bitter! This place used to be on my route to work, but sadly I no longer take this road that often. However, I definitely try and stop by whenever I'm in the area. This place doesn't look like much from outside. It's in a generic shopping plaza at a large intersection. I always assumed it was a standard coffee and donuts place. Boy, was I wrong! Inside is a charming little café serving sandwiches, breakfast foods, and of course coffee and tea. They also have a selection of coffee and tea paraphernalia and packaged gourmet foods for sale. What really earns them five stars is their cappuccino. It's delicious! One of the best I've had. Creamy and smooth with just the right amount of rich espresso flavor--never bitter or burnt. The only other place I've had one that good was Simon's in Cambridge. I've also tried their double chocolate muffin, which was very good. Every time I've been there, it's always been the same two people working: a nice lady who takes your order, and Peter the barista, who is a real artist at his craft. I've passed by Boston King Coffee many times and was always unsure if it was in business since the sign always has several letters out. My friend and I happened to stop yesterday and were pleasantly surprised by their selection. I was especially excited to see bubble tea. Hard to find, and I'm a huge fan. They had a large selection of sandwiches and wraps and a good coffee and tea selection. Of course, they didn't make bubble tea in the winter so I was a bit miffed. They should have a sign or a notice to indicate that some items are seasonal. I got a mocha caramel iced coffee. It was okay but very sweet. My friend and I shared a chicken salad wrap on spinach and it was delicious. Huge chunks of chicken, avocado and raisins. Well worth the price. The coffee was a bit expensive for what you got. The restaurant was clean and it was a nice set up. I would stop in again. read more

I love to go there for coffee and bagel every Saturday morning. Very friendly staff. Owner quite knowledgeable about coffee. He does his own roasting of coffee. Meticulous about keeping coffee brewing pots clean. I find coffee to taste much better than Starbucks, Dunkin and other high volume coffee shops. This cafe is excellent. The sandwiches are made fresh right when we order them. The tea is awesome and the cookies are freshly baked and bomb. I would recommend if you are on your lunch break calling ahead to place your order. This way you can get in and eat and leave. I live so close but I never stopped by to try since I'm a die-hard DD fan. But I needed to stop by a store close by and decided to step in to take a look and maybe buy a coffee. I suspect it's run by a Korean owner (family?) since the style and interior of the coffee shop is exactly like in South Korea. (I also heard the workers speaking Korean so...) I looked around and it's a cute little coffee shop. I was completely overwhelmed by the tea and coffee selections so I asked the person what type of coffee they recommended and I got a "caramel macchiatto". It was a tad bitter since I have a sweet tooth, but I liked it better than Starbucks! After a few sips I liked it better. The service is super friendly and super nice! The guy even offered to make me something else if I didn't like the caramel macchiatto he already made. A star is missing because (personally) the quality and price do not match. I could probably make the same coffee at home without costing 7 bucks. read more
