I was waiting for my son to take his driving test at Middlesex driving Academy in Winchester and decided to take a walk to Dunkin' Donuts. A couple of stores prior to Dunkin' Donuts. I noticed this little shop across the street called bagels and brew and decided to stop in to check it out. First of all the interior is adorable, but please be warned that there are a few steps down so not accessible for everyone. The staff is very nice and funny and they all seem to enjoy working together and were even supporting one of the workers who had some neck pain. Best of all the bagels are fresh and delicious with lots of options to choose from. Also, my thin, mint decaf almond milk latte really hit the spot. A solid 3. Didn't change my life, but not offensive. There is a parking lot off the street, they have a great selection of bagels, the dining room is very clean and comfortable. We got there at 9am on a Friday and they were already sold out of many of the bagel flavors we wanted, so get there early for the widest selection. The bagel itself was good and was of good quality. The service was fine. I prefer Bagel World in Reading but can see how this is a favorite place for people living and working in Winchester. read more

Good bagels and service. I enjoyed my everything bagel with cream cheese and cucumber, there was a good cream cheese to bagel ratio. My friends bagel was lacking on the cream cheese. The bagels were tasty but could have been toasted a bit longer. The dining area was clean and it was easy to find parking. read more

I was on my way to Breuggers when I saw Bagels N Brew and stopped in around 8 AM. Everyone was pleasant and friendly. I ordered a dozen bagels. I quickly suspected the bagels were not made in-house when I couldn't see any equipment (confirmed by an owners comment in a review "delivered fresh daily") They certainly were not warm like our small local shop in Reading and I question the freshness. The taste was dry and uninteresting especially for a French toast bagel. Very pricey for a dozen bagels $19 but when the shop buys their bagels there has to be a mark up. read more

Nice staff, plenty of room to sit and work if needed, and they make a nice London Fog Earl Grey Latte, but I am sorry to say the bagels were dry and disappointing. My first clue should've been when they were automatically going to toast the bagel. I should have let them. I did however think their lox spread which had fresh dill in it was delicious. This is my favorite bagel place ever. The bagels are always warm and yummy and the service is always pleasant. I constantly eat here for lunch and the staff always makes polite conversation and are happy to help. Their sausage egg and cheeses are my personal favorite, but their shop offers so much more. We ordered online at 11 am on a Sunday and they ran out of chocolate chip bagels so we had to substitute it with something else. It's a small little shop in Winchester that has a huge selection of coffees and bagels. There was a pickup area right when you entered to grab your order. The lady at the cashier was very nice and answered all the questions we had about the coffee menu. There is some street parking and seating inside to eat your bagel. The bagel is very soft, chewy, and the perfect amount of dense. read more

I always like to find a new spot for my morning bagel and coffee. I found Bagels N Brew on my way to work this morning. The coffee selection was such a wide variety! Hidden gem! Found this place originally because I needed food on the Fourth of July. And again on thanksgiving morning. They are open most holidays and they always deliver such delicious bagels, sandwiches and coffee! Surprisingly good bagels and MUCH easer to access and order from their their competitor down the street. I ordered 2 dozen bagels for my office with cream cheese and lox. Folks gobbled them up. I'd order again from them again. I didn't have any of their coffee or other items, so I can't speak to those. read more

Not sure if the demeanor of the man operating the cash register today was the norm but if it is... yikes, so rude! He seemed to have more authority over the others working there so he could be management/ ownership. I was willing to get over his attitude once I received my food and coffee however the quality was as poor as his attitude. Do better. read more

The service was good and friendly, but unfortunately both the bagels and the brews left me disappointed. The bagels were similar to grocery store bagels and the decode tasted like it was powdered coffee, idk what suppliers they use, but it isn't up to par with the service. Delicious and Great Customer Service!! I had the Ferrero Rocher hot chocolate, a Banana hot chocolate and Hazelnut ice coffee and it was absolutely amazing and tasteful . We also had the bagel pizza and a sausage, egg and cheese on a egg bagel and it was so good . I highly recommend this place, especially with the 5 star customer service we received. I happened upon Bagels N Brew today and was delighted to find an authentic bagel shop in my back yard! I am from NY and have been hard pressed to find a bagel place that truly felt like "home." That is, until today--my first clue that they know their stuff was the fact that they have salt bagels! (Thank you!) The service was fast and friendly, the coffee was hot and fresh, and the atmosphere reminded me of days gone by. Stopped in B&B on a whim while passing through town. My husband and I figured we'd just get one bagel to share (pumpernickel with bacon & scallion cream cheese). Found a scenic spot about a mile down the road to enjoy our breakfast treat. Amazing! Was SO delicious that we circled back to B&B on our way out of town to pick up another bagel w/ cc for the drive home, as well as a few extras for the freezer. The wait itself wasn't the problem. I just wish someone had acknowledged there had been a mistake and told me to come back later. I wasn't in a rush; I simply didn't want to sit in a hot restaurant while my dog waited in the car, forcing me to run outside every five minutes to check on him. The experience was frustrating, and I do wish some sort of compensation had been offered as a gesture. The hosts were very kind, but I still don't understand why I was told the food was ready and then made to wait nearly an hour. The reason we will not return to Lucia's or recommend it, however, is the manager I spoke with when I called to explain what had happened. He was curt, dismissive, rude, and unapologetic--an absolute jerk. The only thing he repeated was, "We have an hour to get the food out." There was no point in explaining that it had already been more than an hour since I ordered, and zero chance he cared that a quiet, meaningful moment on a difficult holiday could have been made better by a little understanding, but was instead made worse. Frankly, I would not trust a dish he touched going forward. If he is the manager, I feel bad for everyone who works for him. The fish rots from the head.

Just a place that knows how to make coffee and food without turning it into a lifestyle brand. The shop is small, bright, and comfortable. Clean, organized, and modern without looking like it was designed by a committee. A couple of tables, a calm atmosphere, and nothing screaming for attention. You sit, you eat, you're happy. Wild concept. The staff was excellent--friendly, helpful, and efficient, without the forced enthusiasm you get at chain coffee shops where everyone sounds like they're being timed. Service was quick, recommendations were solid, and no one tried to upsell me a mortgage disguised as a latte. I ordered a 12oz roasted flavored coffee (the flavor changes daily). Today's was Mudslide. Smooth, perfectly hot, with subtle hints of chocolate that behaved themselves. Not syrup soup. Not dessert in a cup. Just coffee. And it was about $2 for a small, which is impressive considering most chain coffee places now charge $6 for something that tastes like regret and burnt beans. The menu is refreshingly reasonable. Enough options to make people happy without needing a scroll wheel. I went with the Red Devil Turkey BLT on an Asiago bagel with Chelsea Fire cream cheese. The sandwich was $11 and worth every penny. The Chelsea Fire cream cheese is the star--bold, flavorful, and memorable. If chain coffee shops had this, they'd immediately ruin it by diluting it and charging extra. The bagel was still warm and clearly fresh, the turkey and lettuce tasted actually fresh (not "fresh adjacent"), the bacon was cooked perfectly, and everything worked together instead of competing like a group project gone wrong. Overall: great food, fair prices, excellent coffee, and a place that quietly outperforms chains without announcing it. Highly recommend. I'll be back--probably more often than I should.
