Well for once this was a restaurant that was popular in the 1990s for rotisserie and I never tried it cuz during that time it was super expensive and I wasn't making enough money it's still expensive now but the reason why I came here is to compare this place since they were the ones who originated the idea of rotisserie chicken before Sam's club and Costco started selling $5 chicken rotisserie style. A lot of these Boston markets are going out of business because of the trends uncertain franchises being overpriced especially with the cost of fuel in cars and other things that are so expensive Nationwide. I needed a bucket list despite that I bought Sam's club rotisserie chicken earlier but that's for dinner and I'm not going to eat the whole thing. Some of that chicken I got from Sam's club I'm going to make into my lunch tomorrow for my working day. Other than that if I compare the rotisserie chicken that they sell here for $12.99 versus the $5 chickens from Costco and Sam's club this really beats those two rotisserie chickens. The way they do their chicken here it's organic also they don't layer it with seasonings like Sam's club using Lawrysor a lot of salt in both Sam's club and Costco. I would have to come back to buying a whole chicken in regards to how it was cooked inside it wasn't dry like Sam's club or Costco it didn't have that two day old dryness that you know that it's not exactly fresh chicken that they had as a whole. As for the sides the cream spinach was delicious the cornbread was just meh ok. It wasn't bad but it wasn't like the best tasting cornbread that I would do cartwheels or say wow likewise with the chicken soup. Green beans was the same thing it was just meh good. It didn't have that crispiness for the green beans that I've tasted better with the freshness. No I ended it with the apple pie and surprisingly the pie was very delicious. I would expect the crust to be very dry and then the fillings was not too full of sugar for Apple neither was it too dry but it actually had the right juiciness or moisture in the apple pie I only order the slice especially since I'm in a pre-diabetic state of health that I have to be concerned about. Service was decent they were just opening at 11:00 I came in at 11:30 on a Sunday ambience was pretty quiet but amiable with the staff it was just one lady and one Young teenager. Other than that not all the sides where delicious where I would do cartwheels or say wow. After a rigorous workout, I visited this Boston Market on Thanksgiving Day! Known for its comfort food, Boston Market particularly used to be my go-to for Thanksgiving dinner during a piece of my time in the military which it serves on the menu the day of. Via Google, I found this location in Melrose Park being the nearest to me at the time while in Broadview for my workout. Once I entered the location, I stood in an assembly style of a line which moved at a very acceptable pace! Being that I am a vegetarian, I had my mind on ordering nothing but their sides as I overlooked while in line waiting for my turn to order. The sides I ended up choosing were a regular sized macaroni & cheese, dressing, mashed potatoes with gravy, and corn! As the employee neared the register filling the containers with each of my sides, I could not take my eyes off of the pies near the register, which were sliced and in a container. I thought to myself, a Thanksgiving meal is just not complete without pie, so I ended up grabbing a slice of apple pie to go with my four sides. Even though I took my order to go, I took notice of the number of tables and seats available inside of the dine-in area inside of this casual-style of a restaurant. Now as for my food, the macaroni and cheese was the first of the sides I started off with, which I must say was my favorite. It tasted delightful! Out of the four sides I chose, the dressing was the side I had high expectations of, but it did not disappoint! I enjoyed it despite my desire to have it with cranberries which in my opinion makes it taste just right. I questioned the corn while in line once I locked eyes on it because its look was not appeasing, nor did it look like typical corn. However, once I tasted it, it ended up tasting better than I imagined it would. And lastly, the mashed potatoes! Out of the other sides, they were my least favorite, but not bad! I felt that it was missing something! Maybe salt, I do not know because they did not have a taste that would make my mouth salivate for more in-between bites; or in better words devour it in one sitting, tehehe. Being that I had a good experience, I am very well open to re-visiting this Boston Market location again whether it be on Thanksgiving Day, or any other day. We found a Boston Market about 35mins from our home and my husband was quite excited since others closer to us had closed down. I ordered a large Sweet Potato Casserole, Large Mac and Cheese, & a half dozen Cornbread. When I got home not only was the sweet potatoes a bowl of mush, it was absolutely disgusting. The Mac was flavorless and the noodles were undercooked. Good thing the cornbread was good. We tried calling the store, but the number listed on the receipt and online were non working numbers. If I would have driven out there it would've been closed by the time I got there. We planned on trying to go the next day, however our schedule was super crazy. This is $25 that I pretty much lost at this point and it is quite upsetting. We will never visit that location nor any other location. I'd give Zero stars if I could! It was truly an unforgettable experience at Boston Market. Where do I even begin? The culinary genius on display was simply breathtaking. My chicken, for instance, was cooked with such passion that it transcended mere poultry and achieved a level of dryness I didn't know was possible. A stunning feat of overcooking, really. But the innovation didn't stop there. I believe the kitchen staff has discovered a new, miniature species of chicken, or perhaps they've mastered the art of making a Cornish hen taste like a half-hearted attempt at a full-sized bird. The portions were so... intimate. For the price of a whole chicken, I got what I can only assume was a curated selection of pieces, meticulously chosen to exclude a back. I hate leaving bad reviews. I ordered almost $80 worth of food and almost all of it was incorrect, missing, and smelled bad or raw. Even some of our drinks were wrong. They did get our sides and some smaller items correct. But none of us could eat our food without feeling our stomach's turn. I ordered the Crispy Country Chicken with White Gravy and got a very small mostly raw chicken leg with my sides. Another person ordered Crispy Chicken BLT Sandwich and they got a completely different sandwich we have no idea what it was. She also ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad and it didn't have chicken in it. Why are people complaining about service at this location? In my experience the people who work here are awesome. You know what else they are? They are people. This isn't even a case of "let those who are without sin throw the first stone." Complainants seem to talk about where an individual staff member's eyes may have gone while completing a request. I forgot ...where in their employment contract is the "robotic service" clause??" I have zero complaints and much love for this location. I visited the last open illinois Boston Market LOCATED IN MELROSE pARK ON 10/5/24. Locally owned. They do sell all the sides , ceasar salad chicken noodle soup a there hours are 11 a to 9p and prepare them in store as there is no national wholeseller but they are using the traditional recipes. however they do not sale the nuggets or wings as posted on the website and the chicken sandwich is basically the rotisserie chicken meat on bread, they have pies, cookies canned and bottled pop and teas and water only, no fountain drinks the drive thru is operative but it is best to visit inside to make sure you ge what you want exactly as the manager was very cooperative in filling my order and included extra chicken, she also has meatloaf which is baked in house fresh daily. catering is still an option. read more

When I walked in the front door of the Melrose Park, Illinois location, no one was available behind the counter for at least five seconds. My food was placed in the generic white plastic containers in bagged in the black bags that you receive from the local liquor store. The cornbread was crumbly. The chicken pot pie only had chicken and potatoes and a few peas in it. The roasted garlic chicken meal was not hot and wasn't my expectation of the taste that I usually get from Boston market. You might not want to let your young, vulnerable son or daughter work here unless you want them to be publicly humiliated in front of other employees and be terrorized by people they previously looked up to. Maria Gill, the manager, fired my daughter in front of another employee. As my daughter walked in the door for her shift, Maria said these words: "No! No call, no show, no job!" My daughter was blindsided. She had been out on Monday getting four wisdom teeth removed, had let Maria know, and, not expecting to be healed by Saturday and being on opioid pain killers, had indeed accidentally missed a shift. It was a simple miscommunication. My daughter called me to pick her up and when I got to Boston Market, she was sobbing her eyes out, huddled in the doorway. Throughout my daughter's break down, Maria and another employee continued to work behind the counter as if nothing out of the ordinary was happening. When I later called Maria Gill on the phone to ask why she fired my daughter in public and not through the phone, she blatantly lied and said she had taken my daughter into her office to fire her. She knows she behaved unprofessionally and cruelly, hence the lie. I know Boston Market is an at-will employer, but to treat a 20-year-old so coldly who has just had surgery, was under the influence of pain killers, and made only one mistake is surely not what the company wants. Boston Market has always been a favorite for my family, so our order tonight was particularly disappointing. The quality of the food has dramatically decreased. The potatoes are now instant potatoes. The corn bread was dry and overcooked. I loved leftover cornbread with my coffee in the morning following a Boston Market dinner. Not this time. And the chicken..... how is rotisserie dry and overcooked? We usually order corn. Not even on the menu anymore. I am sad to see what our go to take out chicken has come to. I will not be returning. When packaging isn't even branded any longer, you know a company is cutting corners. I it saddens me to say that this is no longer Boston market. I stopped by none of their items have the marketed name on the wrappings the bags or even the packaging. They're giving you the food and some styrofoam to go containers. The chicken is terrible. The meatloaf is soggy. The tomato sauce is from a can. The mashed potatoes were sour. It was a depressing experience. And I used to love coming here. I think they just kept the name on the store. But everything inside has nothing to do with Boston Market. Unfortunately I know Boston Market has been going through some changes nationally. And clearly this is one of the places that has taken a hit. Please do not go here expecting original Boston Market quality food. It's a few people that are cooking stuff in the back that are putting it in packages. By far the worst customer service, very unorganized place. I placed a catering order, had a pick up time of 2:45 - 3:00PM. It was 4:15pm and they could not locate my order. My review is based on my this particular visit. I've been going to this location 1-2 times a week for the last couple of months. I came in Father's Day, to order 2 chicken Caesar salads, 2 half chicken dinners and 1prime rib dinner. I was told it would be a 10min wait on chicken, which I did not a problem with waiting as I prefer to have the freshest chicken possible. I payed after I placed my order then the young lady plated my prime rib dinner which is now just sitting on the counter while I'm waiting on the chicken. Meanwhile, one salad was made not with the fresh chicken and brought to the counter next to my presume rib dinner. The the guy that is making the salads came around to the frontline and was rubbing his bare hands on his face and hair in frustration, he then walked back around to the salad station and barehanded began to put my 2nd salad together. I asked the young lady, is that my salad he's making? The cashier said yes and I told her he didn't wash his hands and he has no gloves on yet his touching ready-to-eat foods. She then said something to him and I hear him say "I'm vaccinated!" as he continued to prep my salad! I immediately asked for the manager and explained to her the situation and that she can verify what I saw the employee do by looking at the cameras. I proceed to tell her that it isn't about a vaccination issue but a good safety issue and that he could use some education on food-handling. The manager apologized and remade everything. I just got food from the Melrose Park location. Staff not very friendly, only 2 people working both the counter, drive through and making sandwiches. I only wanted a sandwich and a side, and she kept insisting I take the combo which was much cheaper. I finally gave in, took the drink, and the total was exactly the same as if I just got what I wanted. I had the chicken carver sandwich. Lettuce was so wilted, it was like it was a week old. Sandwich was not cut, and it seemed like a 1/2 an onion on it, I had to take most of it off. Food was not hot, and not good at all. $16 for a sandwich and spinach, and I would have expected more. Boston Market has been a perennial favorite amongst my family, so much so that we even had them cater my 17th birthday party. It's been 7 years since, but not much about the homestyle restaurant chain has changed. Their drinks are a massive 32oz (hooray America!), and for those herbivores out there, they have a side item sampler, so you can get any of your 3 favorites (there's a bunch to pick from). Mac'n'cheese, cinnamon apples, sweet potato casserole, creamed spinach, baked beans, all are good choices that you can't go wrong with. The service is pleasant enough, but it's a funky system--they ask where you want to sit and bring your plate out to you, as well as clearing it when you're done, because there's no garbage cans to do it yourself. Alrighty then.... Dining room was clean and the selection of soft drinks was widely-varied; they included a (sweet) tea dispenser and juice machine, which is an excellent option for those not wanting another oversweetened Cola product. The fifth star comes from the sauces that can be added to your chicken/turkey entree. There was a zesty sweet-Asian something or other, as well as a honey BBQ sauce, but what I had was the honey habenero, and I was very pleased with it. Would definitely return. read more

While waiting for 15 minutes to get to counter and another 10 to be acknowledged by anyone, finally a staff member asks what i want.
