I wanted to share an amazing experience I had last night at Boston Road Animal Clinic. My little boy and I took our kitty to the vet and my little boy brought along his stuffed Curious George - the new vet, Dr Andrew Gestrich, was AMAZING with my little boy. He asked him if he wanted George to get an X-ray and my son was excited about that. I thought he would leave the room with George for a few minutes and then come back but he left and then came back asking us to follow him. He had George lying on the X-ray table and had taken an X-ray of George. This made my little boy's night. He was, of course, extremely good with my kitty too but he sure made an impression on my little boy and I. I'm so happy to have him as our new vet!!!!! Best vet ever!!!! read more

Terrible communication. Not reliable. My puppy had suspicious UTI took him to Boston road clinic and he had urinalysis. I was told that someone would call me with the results. Noone did. I called to get an update and left a message and yet noone called. Had a neutring appointment that was rescheduled TWICE. The second time i called less than 24 hours before the suegery (before I knew it was to be rescheduled) to make some arrangements and ONLY then i was told that they are short staffed and couldnt have the surgery the next day. read more

We just started taking our adopted rescue dog here for check ups and vaccinations, they are awesome. We were able to email them the vet records we had for our dog prior to our appointments, which made everything easy for us and for them. With everything going on right now and not being able to go in with our dog, they made it very simple and comfortable for us and our pet. Our dog Aspen is a little shy and they were very welcoming to her. As soon as we got the phone call from the vet while Aspen was still inside, she said how good Aspen was and that she loved our dog. The prices are very reasonable as well. I can't wait until quarantine is over so we can finally meet the vet and employees in person and not just over the phone, but so far they have taken great care of our new addition to our family and we definitely would recommend them to others! read more

We were very upset when this clinic accidentally gave our puppy two rabies shots in a two week period. The unsupervised assistant who erroneously gave our puppy a 2nd vaccination, did so even though a rabies tag that was prominently displayed on the puppy's collar. It was unclear if the assistant checked the paper records, the electronic records or no records at all. It wasn't until the assistant mentioned that we'd get a rabies tag when we left, that the issue was discovered. There was a loud discussion in the back of the office about confusion as to which dog was being treated at which time. We can only hope our puppy (who vomited that evening) will not have an adverse reaction to the double dosage in the future - there is no way to know. read more

My little papillion had a horrible ear infection and an infected tooth. The staff and doctors here are all so gentle and kind with her, and thorough. She had to have a procedure under anesthesia and I was quite scared because she's fifteen years old and only 6 lbs. They did an outstanding job. She was then sick from the anesthesia, which is common for dogs her age and size, but the whole staff continued to call and monitor her, had her in for injected fluids to ensure she didn't experience dehydration, and explained the various medications and home care every time I asked. So thankful to find Boston Road Animal Clinic! I have four little dogs so I'm at the vet quite a lot! I used to go to a veterinary practice in Worcester, but the owners sold the practice to a larger vet company and the atmosphere was completely different! I had called a few times for urgent appointments and was told they were booked and had to wait a few days! So I found Boston Road Animal Clinic and with one call they were able to see my dog that afternoon! As soon as we walked in we were greeted and felt welcome! The receptionist was very helpful and the waiting area was as clean as could be! We met with Dr. Bemis who was wonderful and treated Toby with gentle hands for an abscess on his back! We just went for a follow up and Toby knew that he would be fine and just wanted to cuddle. That made me feel confident we chose the right place for my fur babies! read more

These people actually hung up on us when we were calling about our cat's ailing health and that we thought it was time to put him to sleep. He has diabetes and poops on my mom's bed over and over. She is 73 years old and has many health problems. Her nerves can not handle any more of the complications. The money, time and effort spent to maintain the life of a poor kitty who is suffering from diabetes and anemia has become too much for her. Even if a customer is angry or upset, NEVER ever hang up on them. That is the most unprofessional thing I have ever seen. We were not swearing, nor saying anything offensive. My brother was on the phone with them and I said very loudly I do not want to consult about quality of life just to have them try to convice her to keep him. And that is when she hung up. I appreciate everyone has their own opinions but if you can't handle the different reactions of people who are dealing with a huge and horrible decision, you should find a new line of work! read more

I have been bringing my now 14 year old Chihuahua to Dr. Dyer for approximately 4 years now. She and her staff are the most kind, compassionate, and caring people. I've been extremely happy with the care given my dog by this vet, and staff. They make you feel as though your pet is the most important in the world. Best vet I've ever seen -- I feel like Dr. Dyer really cares about her patients and makes sure that I am knowledgeable and comfortable with what's happening with the health of my dog. Even the techs and assistants dedicate themselves and meet the patients where they are at. For me, my dog happens to have fear based reactiveness, and they've always treated him with respect and kindness and never once muzzled him, where other places had in the past. They helped me with finding resources to treat his behavior and never judged me for the work I was doing with Cooper, knowing full well the difficulty of reactive dogs. They even noticed how much better and trusting he has gotten! Cooper feels comfortable (as comfortable as a vet visit can be), and it's all because of the staff. I'm so grateful for it. We just moved to the area and needed to find a new vet for our 3 year old pup. We came here for his annual check up, to get a couple shots, etc. The staff here is very friendly and treated our dog like their own. I was not (yet) a patient but Dr. Dyer saw my cat recently for an emergency visit when my usual vet office had no vet on staff that day (how is that even possible?). He had swallowed something and was just not right. She was wonderful and helped him quickly. Everyone was very kind and caring knowing I was upset and that my cat was in pain. He is as good as new now. They called to follow up multiple times which I really appreciated too. I would highly recommend coming here. read more

I recently brought my cat into see the vet a few weeks ago. I was looking for a particular kind of vet who would love my animals as much as I do. I have been disappointed more often than not when coming to a vet. In this case I was amazed! I brought my brand new kitten in and she and I were treated so well by the staff and the vet herself. My kitty was given a toy to play with to keep herself busy throughout the office. I was given great advice on my kittens care and even received a tutorial on cutting her nails. I feel the staff at this office truly have love for the animals that they see and I feel 110% comfortable bringing my animals here. They offer multi-cat discounts which are great since vet care can get expensive! They also offer you great options on insurance options for your pet. I can't imagine bringing my animals anywhere else. read more

I have a new puppy and was visiting my boyfriend. The puppy had some remaining bowel issues. I called the office one morning and they were able to get me an appointment that same day. The office is clean and all of the staff extremely professional and helpful. We were seen both by an assistant and a Veteranarian who was extremely patient, knowledgeable and through. She checked the puppy literally from head to toe and was very patient in explaining procedures and care for the puppy. We will definitely be back! read more
