The said CT and surgery next step and may have to wait 2-4 days as they are busy. CT done and yup there is "something" there. Intravenous meds that should have been done first day and absess popped on it's own overnight while she was there. Out 5k for meds she should have been given on the first visit and scan was a waist of 2k. Then I call 4 times over 4 days once her 3 weeks of medicine is done, with no call back. A week later someone calls and asks how she is doing. She was supposed to get 6 weeks of meds but since no one called back I get "well it been a week, just keep an eye on her" I asked again if she was supposed to get 6 weeks of meds "yes but she's been off for a week" So they are 100% just in it for money and do not care about your pet. So now I guess I'll hope it doesn't come back as she didn't get the proper amount of antibiotics because of their carelessness. Staff was nice for the most part. Pic of Stella and Grace when we picked her up. Who would be on top of that cutie getting all her meds.

He has taken care of my two dogs - an eleven year old Lab and a 1 year old Lab - for a few years now. The quality of his service and his knowledge is very strong. He does their annual check ups and give them immunizations. He spayed by younger dog and gives the older dog acupuncture her for arthritic sore back - it works really well (I was a sceptic, but the dog can visibly walk better once he treats her.) I've had some complicated problems too - once my dog managed to eat a people prescription pill and he was able to quickly determine what to do and help her. His prices are competitive - not super cheap but comparable - but more importantly, I feel like he does no load on questionable extra fees or nickel and dime me for everything. Generally he can see me quick - same day - if I call with an immediate need. He does have some late afternoon appointments which work well for me as a person with a full time job. His office is clean and well equipped. I've seen vets in the past with larger offices, a bigger staff and more expensive upscale buildings, waiting rooms etc. I don't think the care I got there was better, just more expensive. Plus I always got the feeling those places were a little to ready to suggest some extra test that might not be needed. In contrast, with Dr. Rodgers I feel like I am getting quality care and quality time from a professional who had the best interest of me and my pets in mind. I "wag my tail" for Dr. Rodgers.... hope that is not too silly :)

Overall, I've had a pretty good…read moreexperience, especially in the earlier years when it was a smaller practice run primarily by Dr. DeLong. Back then, the care felt much more personalized and relationship-driven. As the practice has grown, unfortunately, that personal touch has diminished, and visits now feel more transactional. That said, the vets and staff are generally competent and friendly. However, my most recent visit left me feeling quite frustrated. The exam itself cost $100 -- a bit on the high side, but something I was willing to tolerate for quality care. What really upset me was the cost of the prescribed medication: 15 pills priced at $80. Out of curiosity, I looked it up online and found the exact same prescription, in the same dosage, available on Chewy for just $20. When I called to ask about the price difference, I was given an explanation about "economies of scale," which frankly doesn't hold up -- not at that level of markup. A 400% price increase over a reputable online retailer is excessive by any standard. While I still value the veterinary services and will continue to bring my pets here for medical care, I will no longer purchase medications directly from the clinic. It's unfortunate, because I would have gladly paid a reasonable premium for the convenience and to support the practice -- but this level of price inflation is simply not justifiable. I hope they reconsider their pricing structure in the future. Until then, I recommend getting prescriptions filled elsewhere.

Things to know..... this is a very small office and the doctor works alone with the help of the vet techs - they are NOT an ER (and will tell you so) so if you are not already a patient and your pet is having an emergency you should go to an emergency hospital. If you expect an office run like a brand new vet center you won't find it here but what you will find is the great vet service, at reasonable prices, and care like you may have experienced from vet back in the day. This team of folks goes above and beyond for their patients and it is why many of the people that bring their pets here have been returning time after time for 20+ years.

Dr. Nick is so caring, patient, and understanding. Often he's returning calls until 8pm and has given his personal cell phone number if there are any issues post sedation, regardless of procedure. From tumor removal surgery to dental cleaning he calls to check on our pets. He will also ask about how my parents are doing and their pets when I go for a visit with mine. Colleen is fantastic with grooming. My long haired cats would get shaved in the summer so they were more comfortable and she always made them look so adorable and smell so nice. She's also so kind and compassionate, plus prompt with returning calls. If there is a specialized surgery Dr. Nick can't do, he has always referred me to excellent surgeons. For end of life issues, the staff are above and beyond caring and loving. This doctor truly seems to love his work and it will be such a loss whenever he does retire. Comparable rates, prompt response, varied services, excellent care. If you want an excellent veterinarian, Dr. Nick Kotsopolous at The Route 20 Animal Clinic is the one to see.

Since we have two dogs and with the prices most Vets charge today, we've been taking them too Petco Vaccination Clinics to save money. Recently, they would not renew our dogs Rx without seeing the dog first. My wife made an appointment, relayed to me how the dog acted/behaved, and mentioned the receptionist said sorry and felt bad for my wife having to bring the dog in. I finally became irate about the situation when coming back home yesterday from a few nights trip up north and hearing how bad he was with our neighbor/dog sitter. Both dogs were excited to see their owners as one would imagine. However, we could not get our 5 yr old GSP to calm down most of the afternoon when at that point I felt bad for the dog. Before anyone thinks "these dog owners have no idea the energy levels of a GSP (German Shorthaired Pointer)" I must add I'm 53 and have had this breed my entire life. The dog went 9 days without his meds because we had to make an appointment and be prescribed a new Rx. Granted they (WVCA) received from us 3 months ago a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian (Petco). In addition, VCA has changed their Rx process and will no longer accept eRx requests from outside pharmacy's (i.e. PedMeds, Chewy, etc..). Clients will either need to purchase medications through VCA ($$$$) or they can obtain a paper copy to send via snail mail to the outside pharmacy which further delays the process of obtaining medications. Trust me, there is no staffing shortage at VCA to handle such requests as there are about 2-3 receptionists at the front desk. Mind you, we were able to obtain 6 days' worth of medications for our dog, however, a 3 MONTHS supply from PedMeds is only $10 more than obtaining a 6 day supply at VCA!! Take this into consideration before choosing to take your pet there. As of today, we are done using them.
