I did an internet search for local cleaning services and found Boston Sparkling Clean. They did a FANTASTIC job, and got our 6 room apartment thoroughly clean in under two hours. They were very thorough, wiping up the mop boards, dusting the bookshelves, washing dishes that hadn't made it into the dishwasher, vacuuming off the sofa (including under the cushions), and cleaning off the blinds. They had 2 people clean my tiny beacon hill apartment for 2 hours - or so they say. When i came home, not only were all my cleaning products missing, but the house looked marginally better than before. I could have done a better job, and taken half the time. I signed-up with Sparkling Clean because of a deal on BuyWithMe, but I found the service to be very unprofessional from the administrative standpoint (difficult to set up an appointment, submit payment, no "professional" phone line, etc). In addition, the cleaning job was sub-par (we were able to run our finger over the hood of our stove and pull up a layer of grime after the clean, walls and light fixtures were still dusty, etc.) AND the cleaners broke the tray to our microwave. What's more, the service provider seemed confused about what price we had agreed on and quoted me both higher and lower than the initial quote when were figuring out final payment details. I called another number at 3.30pm and the woman who answered said that my location "was too far" - we are 16.5 miles from Boston so I guess that the 1.5 miles of additional travel is a deal breaker! My wife and I have been a consistent monthly client of his for over a year now and have always been very pleased with his team's professionalism and diligence in cleaning our Brookline condo. Recently my wife and I decided to renovate our condo and build a baby room in time for our new arrival. To say that our place was a mess and covered in dust after the contractor left the job without finishing would be a massive understatement. After sanding the floors, cutting/installing crown molding and window trim, cutting/laying tile and patching/sanding holes on walls and ceilings, there was not a single dust-free spot in the entire apartment. Me working late hours and my wife being 8+ months pregnant we knew we needed Luiz's team's help. He came with his team promptly when scheduled and in a matter of hours the dirt was gone! They do a quick, efficient job usually with a team of cleaners (if they only have 1 person, it can take 3 hours). Very cost effective, which means they may not clean everything perfectly, but you can't beat the value. And any area you want targeted, for example, the oven - they are happy to oblige! OMG, these people are terrible. I got the buy with me coupon for 3 hours of cleanin by 2 people. They came 6 hours late with 5 people and were here for 45 minutes, exactly. Even with 5 people they should have been here over an hour. They vacuumed, shoddily at that, and mopped floor, again shoddily and left. They did not dust a thing.They didn't steal my products, I don't even think they used them. Luis was all about getting a gratuity. These people are definately sub par. My regular cleaners had been in on Wednesday so I was looking forward to having walls, fans, cabinets wiped down. I even asked and Luis said, oh we do everything.....Very bad company. I have been using Boston Sparkling Clean for 6 years across three different apartments. I use this service every other week and have found Luiz to be very easy to work with. He is reliable and flexible, willing to work with me to change my cleaning date or time if I need to. He also lets me know if I need to buy more cleaning supplies. When I come home from work on a "Luiz day," I am often heard saying "best money spent." There is nothing like coming home to a clean and tidy apartment after a busy day or week. As for the actual cleaning itself, I am pretty satisfied. Occasionally I'll find a corner that was overlooked, but most of the time I'm pretty happy. Waste of money! I got a buywithme coupon.. My experience of their cleaning was terrible.The two cleaners did not do a good job at all.. First of all.... one of the cleaning person used Neutra Air spray (lying in my cleaning supplies) to clean all my furniture!!! They did not clean half the things - windows, windowsills, the outside of oven, Refrigerator surface, no removal of cobwebs or dust/grime from sideboards.... Not recommended! read more

Do not ever hire this cleaning service. I bought a Groupon for 4 hours of cleaning. My husband and I are selling our home and I wanted a little extra cleaning assistance. I called Sparkle Clean right after I bought the Groupon and a nice lady answered and said she would have to call me back because she didn't have her appointment book. I said ok, no problem. After a few days I had still not heard back so I called again, no answer. I tried emailing, nothing, I called again, nothing, I emailed again, nothing. I then contacted Groupon, they said they would contact Sparkle Clean and have them call me. Nothing. Contacted Groupon again, they said they would contact them again and once again, nothing, no call, no email. Nothing. Groupon can not refund me because it's been over 3 days (ah, yeah, try 2 weeks of trying to contact them). Groupon can't actually do anything. I feel frustrated with both Groupon and Sparkle Clean. I will most certainly NOT be going to Groupon in the future for services like this. I am now out $89 bucks, and have no cleaning help. :( read more

I had a multiple good experiences with them through bidmycleaning.com, then via text messaging with Luis off and on since then. They only charge about half of what Merry Maids wanted for the same job and I feel that they are thorough, especially in the bathrooms. I've done a lot of Groupon cleanings with different companies and find Boston Sparkling Clean to be on par with the rest. The only drawback (as referenced in the above comments)--they will use your cleaning products and/or paper towels unless you tell them not to. read more

I bought the buywith me deal, $75 for 2 hours of cleaning by 2 people. This is not what I got. I was here to meet them when they showed up after 15 minutes I went down the street for breakfast to get out of their way. When i returned 40 minutes later expecting to still be there I found they were gone and my house was not clean. I immediately called and complained and at first they said they would send someone back, their response changed to 3 people for 1 hour equals 2 for 2 hours then changed to my floor was too dirty to be cleaned, then they stopped returning my calls. Bottom line: I hired professionals to do a better job than my weekend cleanings and had someone do worse than I would've. They didn't clean the kitchen floor and infact left shoe prints on it, they dusted the front half of the tv stand but not the back, wiped down the stove but didnt clean anything that was stuck on, etc. I expect more from professionals and expect to get the services that I pay for, not excuses. read more

In late August, Boston Sparkling Clean did a post construction clean-up of my apartment. They did not scrub inside the cabinets, did not clean the walls, and left the floor still disgustingly dirty. I managed to clean the floors before I moved into the apartment, but I called the owner a few days later to complain. When I told him the issues with the apartment, we had an argument but he finally agreed to come back and clean. A few days later, the owner called me back and told me that he would charge extra for coming back and finishing what they did not do before. I was appalled. I told him that he was cheating me because he should have cleaned properly in the first place and he told me that if I didn't pay he wouldn't come back. Do not use this service unless you want them to come back and charge you extra to do so. Worst company I have ever worked with. Horrendous customer service. read more
