I had called several floor sanders who either didn't call back or told me to wait four months -- and one that came, gave an estimate, said he could do the floor in two weeks, then disappeared (hope he's ok). I was getting desperate. . Someone in my building, a contractor, recommended this company. John asked for a video of the space to save time, instantly provided a very fair estimate, and said they could do it in a week. What!? So of course I said yes... then immediately got scared. My concerns were somewhat put to rest when I saw all these great reviews - but there were so many that I was skeptical that they could really be that good. I can now tell you YES they are THAT good! They did an outstanding job - we have sanded and refinished floors ourselves so we know all the expected glitches - which there were NONE- and the level of skill these guys have to have to do such a quality job. John and Sang (who did the work) also communicated beautifully- even texting to let me know when they were 5 minutes away. They left the space perfectly clean with no debris whatsoever. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found this company because no other floor company came close to their responsiveness and professionalism. And the superior work speaks for itself. John came by a couple weeks beforehand to take measurements and provide us with an estimate. I was left with major damage to my natural wood hardwood floors after tenants vacated. The floors had deep gouges and long scratches in them, stains and damage from a puppy marking his new territory. Bostonian came to give me an estimate and recommended a good sanding and darker color to refinish, which is what I wanted to go with for a new modern look. John educated me as to oil based and water based finish, the pros and cons and walked me through his process. My floors were done within a week - they are so beautiful, I don't even want to put a carpet over them! There was little to NO dust, they work with a dustless system and vacuum thoroughly, I an very pleased and highly recommend Bostonian Floor! Bostonian Floor Co. did a great job refinishing our water-damaged 675 sq. ft. floor. The polite, efficient crew prepared the room by masking off the doorways and framed artwork on the walls. Next with their dustless sanding system they removed the OEM honey-amber finish right down to the original wood veneer on the parquet. Then John Trong repaired the damaged areas conscientiously and they laid down the stain we had selected. When the parquet's white oak veneer resisted "taking" the ebony stain as well we had expected, an exceedingly patient John worked with us uncomplainingly to achieve the exact color we wanted, never mind that success required the application of another coat of stain. John and his crew were very meticulous in applying stain to the floor, getting down on their hands and knees to rub the stain into the wood and manually treat edges of parquet tiles the sander could not reach. Likewise, the crew examined every square foot of flooring before applying the final coat of urethane finish. Lastly, John was explicit with instructions about when we could resume walking on the floor in stocking feet, in shoes, and when we could replace furniture on the floor. It's one thing for the finish to dry, quite another for it to "cure." In sum, our experience with Bostonian Floor Co. was exceedingly favorable. John stands behind his work and will do anything within reason to ensure your satisfaction. It goes without saying that I highly recommend him. read more

I called up Bostonian floors because I needed a sand and poly for 1250sq ft house. John and his employees sure knows what their doing. Came in to work early and left before I even got home. I asked for an estimate through Yelp to refinish my hardwood floor, and got an email from John for more info. I replied with the info he asked for and that was when everything stopped. I never heard back from him after a couple of emails asking if he could come. He might be a good contractor but to me he is no good. We purchased a home in Fall 2015 and decided to get our floors refinished before we moved in. John came onsite to give us an estimate, he was very pleasant and open about what needed to be done. Let me first start by saying I don't usually ever write a review on yelp (this is my first one actually), however I was so impressed with the work and the total overall experience with Bostonian Floors that I'd like to share my feedback. I reached out to John at Bostonian Floors to repair about 200sqft of hardwood flooring that was damaged (buckled) from a water leak. He came in to complete the assessment, and walked me through the process of repairing/resanding/staining/different types of polyurethane that can be used depending on durability and shine. From the start he set proper expectations, and kept me updated throughout the process. He provided a few options of stain colors, and sent pictures of the work throughout the process so that I knew how the work was progressing.
