Since this internet reviewing service was initiated, people tend to disparage something or someone just because they disagree with or don't like someone and their product. These reviews of Bottisti's are a case in point. As we residents of Amsterdam know well, there are many ways to prepare pizza. Some like crispy crusts with a lot of sauce, some like their pizza thick and "bready" with less sauce , and so forth. From what I've read in these reviews, what is being presented are the reviewers' likes and dislikes for a particular style of pizza. Bottisti's chooses to make pizza in a certain way, which is to my liking. Other pizza places in town make pizza in a different way, so I don't tend to buy from them. If you are from Amsterdam, you know who makes the kind of pizza you like. What is so nice about living here is that we have these many choices. So, please, be careful in your denunciations of the eateries, not just here in Amsterdam, but in other places as well. They have established a style of food preparation that is enjoyable to some, but not to others. It is okay to say that a particular restaurant's food is not to your liking, but don't use words like "garbage" and the like in these reviews. It is not helpful to me or others trying to find a restaurant to our liking. Say why you dislike the food and why a certain preparation does not appeal to you. In that way, we readers can make a more informed decision. By the way, my wife and I like Bottisti's pizza because we like the thinner crust and their particular way of making sauce and its flavor (the combination of seasonings is to our liking). At one time Bottisti's bottled their sauce, and we readily purchased it. Go to Bottisti's once to try their pizza - if you like it, you'll keep coming back, like us. If you don't like it, you can always go to one of our other fine pizza parlors. They are all good, in their own way of preparation. If these places were't good, the discerning "pizza people" of Amsterdam would not patronize them, and they would fail. read more

Worst experience I have ever had, dining out. Management is horrible, food was burnt. I asked for a new pizza or a refund. Assistant manager told me to leave. I would give zero stars if I could. Will never return, tell your family and friends to beware. read more

Enjoyed an absolutely delicious dinner here tonight with family. We had some standard appetizers- mozzarella sticks and fried ravioli. Both prepared golden brown with a delicious dipping sauce. The house salads were fresh and crispy and dressed with incredibly delicious dressings. Most of us had a Pasta choice and meat sauce. One diner had a juicy, delectable burger and crispy fries. The sauce is just remarkable!!!!! So good. The service was fantastic. Can't wait to go back. Our server assured us everything is made fresh and may take a few extra minutes but it is worth the wait!!!! Take your family to Bottisti's if you love good, rich sauce!!! read more

Bottisiti's food is good. Truth be told, I actually really like their baked ziti. The problem is with their service. Essentially, the service sucks. It doesn't matter who answers the phone, they always sound completely annoyed, as if you are bothering them by daring to call and place an order with them (although this isn't just a problem with Bottisiti's, as it seems like most of the pizza places in Amsterdam suffer from this problem). Then, they usually quote you a wait time of 45 mins to an hour (and many times they'll even quote you longer wait times), and sadly, it almost always takes longer then what they've quoted you. I've had to wait 90 mins or more on several occasions, and one time it took over 2 hours. And it doesn't matter if you have it delivered or you pick it up. I've gone in to pick a pizza up, and had to sit and wait for over 30 mins longer than they told me. Last night I called at 8pm, and told them I would like to place an order for delivery. I was told (rudely) that they stop delivering at 8:30, so I would have to come pick it up. I reminded them that it was only 8pm, and they (rudely) told me they were "all booked up", whatever that means. As a pizza place you have to do two things well- make pizza and deliever it. Ordering a pizza, or some baked ziti, should not be this hard. Not when there's at least a dozen other pizza places to order from. If Bottisti's could improve their customer service skills, I would be happy to recommend them, because as I mentioned, their food is quite good. But, I see lot of other reviews online stating the same complaints- crappy customer service - and apparently the owners don't care. So until they do start caring, I'll be ordering my pizza elsewhere. read more

Grew up in Amsterdam and was back in town to help care for an ailing parent over the weekend. When I lived here many years ago we would always get pizza from Bottisti's. I was raised on it and in all my travels over the years I'd have to say that it was probably one of the best pizzas I have ever had anywhere. So, when I was back in town recently and saw that the place still existed I had to get it. The memories of that airy thin crispy crust, perfect sauce, home made sausage and just the right amount of mozzarella were making my mouth water. WHAT THE HECK DID YOU DO TO MY CHILDHOOD PIZZA???? If you are even part of the same family which I assume you are since you kept the name, PLEASE, go back into the archives, find the original recipe and follow it. I ate two pieces of this abomination because I was really hungry and used the rest to patch a good sized crack in my parents basement wall which was leaking water heavily. The pizza is fantastic, but call well in advance as it is a long wait to get your pie.

We always order from here when we all want something different. I love the poppers and fries with gravy. The pizza was kinda gross and so greasy. I always order angel hair and it is always soggy and overcooked, so I never eat it. You'd think I would have learned to order something else by now. The chicken parm is good, but how hard is it to cook breaded chicken and throw on some sauce and cheese. Overall it is a good place to order from, but like others, I agree the service is lacking considerably. I hope they don't get mad about my review and spit in my soggy pasta next time I order. read more
