Over the last three years I have noticed my bags not being counted and added to my acct. I typically take in 3-4. On the regular I am shorted an entire bag OR only a small amount is added for an entire bag. I mentioned this and was told, scan your card for every bag you have. So we do that now. Today we noticed torn open bags, cans and bottles all over the place in the quick drop area. Our bags are tidy, tightly tied, and still they don't do their jobs. The rudest people work at this location too. At any point, trying to have a conversation or get help inside comes with attitude and blank stares. Your usual Bottle Drop. Nothing new. The Drop Box Door is a bit of an incline for parking but not bad. Watch out for people without a home asking for money and or your bottle's. Rare are the time that doesn't happen. Just be aware if your surroundings. I look right at them and a simple no works for me. The employees are friendly and helpful and the inside always looks nice. The parking lot has never been a problem for me and I found out, early Saturday morning is a good time for drop off. read more

I work in Gresham and buy my drinks for my engineers to enjoy during our meetings. I've been using bottle drop to return bottles and cans for their refunds that I pay at the stores for these bottles in cans. But now because I live in Washington though I work in Oregon I cannot return the cans anymore even though they're purchased in Oregon because you have to live in Oregon to be able to return the cans and bottles. So in saying that, do all the people that get all their cans and bottles out of the garbage or the dumpsters or wherever do they pay the 10 cents deposit? No! So what difference does it make I can prove that I paid for him here in Oregon yet they're not going to believe it. What a joke! read more

People have filed 111 complaints against BottleDrop with the BBB in the past 3 years; as a result, they give them an "F" rating and, not surprisingly, won't accredit them. read more

This was somewhat of a recent discovery for me. Previously I would just recycle all of my bottles and cans with my regular recycling. Setting up your account is easy, just go to the location and fill out a quick form and they will set you up right there. You do have to pay for the bags, but they are only a few cents per bag. Once the bags are full just use your card and drop off the cans. They will count them and credit your account automatically. You can check your balance any time from your mobile device or computer. There are kiosks there where you can print your checks from your account. Overall this is pretty cool, no more having to wait for your cans to be counted. read more

This place is the biggest pain ever fostered on the american consumer by the grocery chains. The place is dirty and smells horrible. People will go in and take over multiple machines. They don't pick up the garbage that people leave. The machines are so close together that some are next to impossible to use. They should never have taken redemption out of the stores. The redemption centers have no reason to keep the places clean since they are the only game in town. read more

The employeees (atleast the females) have been RUDE every time ive been here. The place is ALWAYS FILTHY. Idedinatly will NOT be gng back here after todays experience with Abby. I asked her if she could get me something to clean the cart out and she said no. Then just walked off. After i get up and start doing my cans, the machine was spitting all my water bottles back so as she was walking by me i said" Can u please get someone or give me something to wipe this out" she says " Oh NOW YOUR ASKING TO MUCH!!!" THE machine next to me opens and she said just move over there cuz im not wiping it out" so she pushes my cart over as im backing up so she doesnt hit me with my cart if cans. So someone had walked up to my old machine she took rite off, so im thinking , ok hopedully this one does better. It did and i check my amt and im at 3 something then it dawns on me i never got the 7 or 8 bucks from machine i was just on. Anyway long story short Abby was terrible! She also stated " Im not wiping shit out, I wipe the machines 1 time and 1 x only and thats at end of day!" The guy at the "customer service" counter refused to help or even call for someone to assist me even though we asked twice. Finally a nice lady let me take over using her machine. What I experienced at this location today is unbelievable. First of all 4 machines were not working. Both pay out stations were not working. There was a huge line to get your money paid out and when it was finally my turn they ran out of money and it took forever for them to get more. I been going there forever them I began to get the Green Bag service so I wouldn't have to stand in line @ wait forever with dumpster divers that smell. I've been scammed 3 times in a row of not getting my bottle deposit back that I paid for- NOT from dumpster. IVE EMAILED & messaged their main office several times after I went to Wood Village BottleDrop in person. Got NO WHERE!! They messed w/ the wrong person. I'm not an avid Yelp review person but I have a few. Most of my reviews are negative. With that being said, this review will be no different. So you understand, the redemption center is a place you can take your recyclable bottles and cans in bags and they count them for you and the money is deposited in your account. Also, there is supposedly a 2 bag limit per day or $35 max per day. I walked inside this redemption center the other day and brought in three bags of plastic bottles and cans. My usual deal. But alas, an employee greeted me with the question, "Are those for two separate accounts"? to which I reply "No they are not". In a raised voice the employee says "You're only allowed 2 bags at a time"! I giggle and say "Ok" then put 2 bags in the Quick Drop location. I walk out back to my truck and get the glass bottle I am going to recycle. (That's 3 bags now) Grab a cart and place the bottles inside it. I roll back into the facility and get to where the line begins. Mind you i'm the only one in line while other people are at the recycling machines. One machine opens up and before I could take one step, a couple of tweakers cut right in front of me. I thought to myself how rude but figured they needed the cash to get their next fix. 5 minutes go by and I see another machine about to become available. As luck would have it, as soon as it opens up, another employee stops the machine from being used so that they could clean it. Damn! Another couple minutes pass and another machine about to be open. Low and behold, the employee cleans that machine also. This is now some bulls**t Now irritated, the machine is clean and ready to use. So I proceed to put the bottles in the machine. I finish and grab my voucher then redeem it at the kiosk to load to my account. I needed more bags so I now go to the counter to get more bags. I get my bags but the first employee does not give me my tags for the bags. Then proceed to walk away to do something. I stand there puzzled. Then the employee comes back and I say "Tags?" The person just points to kiosk. Pointed with attitude. What a c**t I thought. They could of at least told me that when they handed me the bags that I have to go to another machine to get the tags. Arg. I get my tags and walk out to my truck. I drive around to the other side of the building where they have a door that unlocks with a bar code on your keychain card. I open the door and place bag number 4 inside. Then drove away. read more

This BottleDrop location at 1313 E Powell Blvd. in Gresham gets five stars. I have only been here twice so far, but I can already say that it is a hundred times better than the Bottledrop location at 12403 NE Glisan St. in Portland, which is much closer to my home. Even though I literally have to drive seven extra miles to get to this location in Gresham, it is more than worth it. The service is better, the employees are friendlier, and the wait in line is shorter. Most importantly, the employees at the Gresham location have been fully trained in how to properly implement Oregon's bottle redemption laws. The law is that each person may redeem up to 50 containers per day at each location for hand sorting and counting by the employees. In other words, as long as you have 50 containers or less, you don't have to feed the containers into the machines yourself or use the green bags. You can go straight to the customer service desk and the employees will hand sort and count for you. Additionally, the state law is that all containers must be accepted -- even if crushed, flattened, or otherwise damaged -- as long as the brand can be identified (or the "OR 10 ¢" is visible), except for containers that show signs of already having been run through a reverse vending machine (e.g., containers that are squared off or have linear notches in them). Unlike many of the employees at NE Glisan in Portland, the employees in Gresham are fully versed in these laws. Most importantly, if you have 50 containers or less for hand sorting, the Gresham location does not make you stand in the long outdoor "COVID era" line just to get in the door. Rather, they will let you walk straight in the door to the shorter line at the customer service desk for hand sorting. This is exactly as it should be. It makes no sense for customers with only 50 containers to stand in the same line with customers who have hundreds of containers, but that is what the NE Glisan location makes people do (or even worse, some of the NE Glisan location employees routinely break state law by falsely telling people "hand sorting is not allowed here"). In conclusion, I am grateful to the Gresham location and its hardworking and knowledgeable employees. For me, the Gresham employees are a breath of fresh air after getting shoddy treatment at the NE Glisan location so many times over the past year. read more

This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had. An employee was screaming at the entire room. He yelled at 2 elderly guys to the point he told one to get the fuck out when the man said calm down. Yelling like that (a few time) to costumers with kids in the room. Completely inappropriate! I spoke with the gal at the counter. She defended him saying if she had to say something 2x she would be pissed. Maybe the pair is completely incompetent and doesn't realize no one can hear clearly with bottles dropping. Long short.... Dont bring your kids. This is an R rated bottle drop! I keep hearing how others are being shorted on the green bags of cans they are turning in. It had not happened to me until I went to check my account today. I turned in 2 "full" bags and my account says I have $5.45. That's not even 1 full bags worth, I usually get $8-$9 for a bag. I called and was told that only 1 bag had been processed. So where is my other bag and where is the remainder of the money on the 1st bag??? I will not ever be doing this again. I would never write a review based on a bottle redemption center as it is just common sense that these kind of places are below expectations already. Long lines, iffy smells and dirty are already expected. But the problem here is the lack of proper customer service from the employees. This location in particular seems to have a high turnover rate- also expected. But when you have a high turnover rate you have to make you sure to properly train your employees. I had a "new" employee tell me some bottles that mind you, this location had taken before, actually tell me I was wrong and that they would not take and that the label had been pre-printed! I went on to say this location has taken them in the past and was rudely responded "well I don't know why they would do that, I got six cameras watching me and my boss is watching me." Okay, I'm already in watching him in confusion and the people behind me are just starring in awe. Well for his surprise, his boss comes and tells me they do take these bottles so I tell him I believe I deserve an apology. At this point, his boss (the manager) goes to tell me an apology for what? And he states "I don't owe you an apology because I was just doing my job." Seriously!!!!!! First of all, you are NOT doing your job because even if you are new, you were not properly trained. Second, what a sad excuse for a manager because you fail to properly train your employees and you missed the most important part of working with customers, which is the customer is always right. Which in this instance, I was. I'm sure this place gets all kinds of customers from different socioeconomic classes but know your information and be courteous. I will not return to this location and will opt to the Fairview location since it's cleaner, faster, and the employees actually take pride in their work and their establishment and ask the proper questions when in doubt before directing their answers to the customer. read more

I would honestly give them a 4 due to the business they're in. It's hard to keep a bottle redemption center clean and not looking like a filthy, sticky mess with transients residing nearby. They do a fair job of keeping it clean. The reason I'm giving it a one is due to the service I received today. My daughter has been collecting bottles from her school for months and today was the last day she was redeeming the credit so she could donate the cash collected to the Oregon Humane Society. I went to snap one quick photo of her and was met with a woman who started yelling at me in the middle of the floor stating I can't take pictures. I would have never attempted a photo had I seen a sign stating so. However, I was treated like an idiot who should just "know." Everyone around started staring at my family and me. I'm sure your location gets an array of customers with different socioeconomic backgrounds. Regardless of a persons background, no one deserves that kind of humiliation. A simple, "I'm sorry. Photos aren't allowed" directly to me instead of the whole place would have been much well-received and appreciated on this customers behalf. read more

I arrived at the Bottle Drop in Gresham at around 2:30 today to a line to the door, five out of ten machines were not working in addition to the payout machine not working and only one person working. My only compliment is that the employee kept a great low key attitude. If you want to encourage recycling please keep everything working and a little cleaner would be great. read more

Went to this bottle drop to get rid of cans and bottles. Third time we've been here. They had a sign in each of the cash boxes. Said limit of $10.00. Not per slip, not per transaction just limit of $10.00. So one of my slips I stopped at $10.00. Then had 2 other slips that totaled 3.50. So hubby ran the 10.00 one through, then ran other slip through. Gal came up with blondish hair pulled up on top of her head. Looked at my hubby and said didn't you see the sign? He said YES he did see the sign. She said only $10.00!!! The way the sign was wrote, you could take it a couple different ways. She was so rude to him, giving dirty looks to him cause she had to open the stupid machine! Other gal that was working in there was nice but, beware of the one with her hair on top of her head. Oh, they also have a sign looking for help. Who in their right mind would want to work with this gal is beyond me. Very rude!! read more
