I officially love this place. The ambiance is fantastic and it's quickly becoming my go-to spot for girls' nights even though I've been telling my bf that I "have to" take him there. My experiences here have only gotten better each time. Everyone there works in conjunction and everyone knows sooo much about the wine. Our server helped us pick out a fantastic bottle of spanish wine ($31) and we paired it with a 5oz cheese/meat plate ($20). The cheesemonger, Sully (i think was his name), came over and talked to us about the meats and cheeses and also provided guidelines to store cheese when we asked. Came here thinking I'd get some good wine and tapas. Nope. Food menu was almost non existent. Grabbed a bottle of spellbound from the retail area and brought it to my table. The wine was good enough, but why was I charged an $11 cork fee for getting a bottle of THEIR wine???? Ordered two sandwiches. Flavorless and hard bread. Not good. Had them pair 3oz meat and cheese. I would expect the cheesemonger to come and ask about our preferences, which is what the server made it sound like he would do. Nope. Apparently that's too much to ask for. Brought out two super lame cheeses that I was not a fan of. I don't care how good of a cheesemonger you think you are, but my taste buds are unique so don't think that you can just pair the wine with something and expect me to like it. If you want to buy a special bottle of wine, this may be a good place to go. (I personally prefer 12th and olive wine shop). But if you want to sit and enjoy some good food with it, I'd recommend purple cafe and wine bar. Service was good, but I spent way too much on nothing impressive. read more

Bottlehouse has one of the most charming and relaxed decks in all of Seattle! There's glowing market lights strung along grapevines, an arbor of honeysuckle wafting its sweet fragrance, and adorable little potted blueberry bushes. My ideal summer evening would look just like this, and I loved soaking up the atmosphere over a few glasses of wine. Their featured rosé during my visit was superb! Besides wine, beer, and cocktails, Bottlehouse also serves snacks in the way of cheeses, charcuterie, topped toasts, and desserts. We had their special meat of the day, candied bacon with heirloom tomatoes, and loved it so much we had to order another plate. The candied bacon was delicious because it's well, candied bacon, and the heirloom tomatoes just epitomized summertime with their sweet, tangy, juicy goodness. We also enjoyed the cheese of the day, a fresh cheese with a whipped texture served with slices of peach drizzled with balsamic and topped with chopped almonds. This is my favorite way to eat when the temperature rises, just really good ingredients and simple, unfussy preparations. Great staff and the house part of Bottlehouse is similarly charming. Essentially a wine bar in a converted house, it's a strange amalgam of cozy, casual, upscale, and boutique all at the same time. The whole place might seat 30 at most, so this is not your loud sports bar environment. They have both indoor and (recently) outdoor patio seating, with an antique-feeling classical furnishing style. In addition to the wines and beers, definitely try Hot Lips fruit soda - blackberry was my favorite. Tastes as if the fruit was carbonated on the stem itself. Wines and beers are rotated on a regular basis, and there was nothing I didn't like. The young owners -- Soni and Henri -- are very down-to-earth and knowledgeable, and they have created a kind of intimate setting that makes you want to bring only your closest friends for a real conversation. This place could NOT get any cuter! I want to throw dinner parties, holiday parties, everyday parties here! The hubs and I finally made it out here to check this place out. There was a live band playing in their 'backyard' area, which only adds to the already chill atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and informative. We ordered some tasty drinks to start (love any place with sparkling rose - my latest obsession - on the menu!); both were refreshing. I love that they have small drink pours, which allows you to try many of their wine selections. I also LOVE that you can straight-up buy any of their wines right there. Perfect. Then we ordered the 3 oz. meat and cheese board as we only wanted a small bite before our dinner date at Delancey. The waitress suggested that we let the cheesemonger match the meat and cheeses to our drink order, we were a bit hesitant, but we went along with it anyway. I'm really glad we did, when the board came out, the cheesemonger described the cheeses to us and she was spot on. I did feel out of my element going there since I usually go to bars and basic restaurants. This is a small plates and wine spot. From a man's perspective this is a place women go to hangout and drink wine. The beer was over priced at $8 a pint for draft, which was not disclosed till the bill came. Stopped by here after brunch at June across the street. Bottlehouse is on top of the winery in Madrona. They have wine and beer flights, and they're working on a bunch of fun wine and beer cocktails. First off, the space here is just beautiful. They've got so much light, and they've created some lovely sitting nooks with rustic benches. The patio is just begging to be enjoyed with glasses of wine/beer and friends (and, it's dog friendly!!!). I'm looking forward to trying this place out and also finding some delicious new wines this summer. They're working on putting together some small bites to pair with the wine and beer with June (from across the street). We met Henri, one of the owners. He's just a super nice guy. Such a great litte wine bar & the grounds are just beautiful. It would be a nice place to have a wedding or reception at. Great yard, very romantic! The wine I tried was good, but not spectacular. Fantastic wine bar and great ambiance. We went on a Thursday evening and were seated on the patio which was surrounded by fun foliage and chill vibes. We got a sweet cheese plate which included figs, nectarines, 4 different cheeses, apples, pecans, chocolates, crackers, and caramel sauce - absolutely delicious! Compliments to Marcus who created the masterpiece. I had two 2oz taste glasses of rose, $4 per glass which were just the right amount to pair well with the cheeses. The waitress was extremely helpful with choosing a wine for my friend (she ended up getting a dry chardonnay) and was very knowledgeable with various wines. Henri and his wife really appreciate wine, want people to enjoy themselves, and offer a rotating menu of wines on tap and by the bottle. Both of the Katy servers are very friendly, attentive, and know their wines- feel free to ask them for advice if you want to try something you've not had before. I'm partial to southern France wines, so we enjoyed a nice glass of Minervois on a recent visit. They also have a nice white wine from the Basque area of Spain now. This place made me so depressed... Because I didn't go until 7 days before moving away from Seattle! My 2 friends and I went here on a sunny afternoon and had an AMAZING time. We sat on the outside patio (totally worth our 10 minute wait). We each got two wine cocktails and split two sandwiches and a cheese board (the $20 option) over the corse of about 2 hours. Every single item was delicious. No joke. The cheese board was probably my favorite because they selected cheeses based on what you and your party are drinking, which was really cool. And all the cheese are from small fromageries across the west. The sandwiches were really filling and tasty too. The vibe was super laid back. It felt like being at a winery - people were just hanging out and enjoying the good food and drink. A few people brought their dogs to sit on the patio which was fun. Stopped by with my wife for a late dinner on our first night in Seattle. Very romantic atmosphere, average noise level, and tables set for 2 and 4. We sat inside but there is an outdoor patio that was closed the night we were there. Staff was fantastic and was able to recommend wines that matched our taste and our food. We ordered a 3oz signature cheese and charcuterie board that was hand-delivered and explained by one of the cheesemongers. It is a huge plus to me when someone takes the time to explain every part of the dish and what they think is remarkable about the dish. I was a little skeptical ordering it because I felt the price was a little high but it was fantastic and plenty of food. Love this place. It achieves a rare balance of being stylish and unpretentious at the same time. The owners are terrific and, in my experience, the staff has been friendly and very capable. Beautiful little spot with a nice, homey vibe. My fiance and I had a wonderful evening out on their patio last night, which has a pretty view of the street and greenery surrounding it. Both dishes were a little greasier than I'd like and the mac and cheese could've done with a lot less salt, but overall, really good. They have such a great selection of wine and is really a perfect place to catch up for a light dinner with loved ones, for dates or even just for late night chit chats. Most of their menu are drinks. They do serve by glass, bottle and even sample sizes as well. What I love is also their menu, more focused on small, finger food like cheese and cured meats, bread-ish type. My friend and I ordered their 20oz cheeseboard selection (came with 3 different types of cheeses, 2 types of cured meats, and some pickled vegetables) and their toast bread (bread topped with sautéed onions, cheese, apples, etc). Their dishes tasted heavenly. Service was quite attentive. There were someone knowledgable enough to give us information on how to pair the food, the cheese information, etc. It was not too crowded on the night we went (weekday nights) but I can totally see this place being so crowded over the weekends, given that it's quite small and has really good food/service. Very cozy, renovated colonial house. Super cute. They are a small wine store as well. You walk through a foyer of bottles making it hard to leave without buying something. Especially when you're rocking a wine buzz. Seating is mostly intimate so if you have a group (5+) I reccomend calling ahead so they can accommodate for that. Its not a reaturaunt so don't come hungry. Otherwise you'll be surviving on cheese, bread, and olives. There are various menues for wine bottles, glasses of wine, flights, wines on tap, bottles of beer, two rotating taps of local beers (two half pints for $5--my favorite deal), ciders, cocktails**, cheese and meat boards, small bites, and a few desserts including truffles and beer floats. There are many options and I was a little lost in all the separate menues. **warning the cocktails here are not your typical liquor cocktails. They make "cocktails"....or mixed drinks.... with wines, ciders, flavored bitters, vermouth, beers. It's a creative idea, but I expected a good Manhattan when one of my friends mentioned they had "cocktails" I tried their "BH Oldfashioned" which wasn't half bad. It's made with bourbon barrel bitters and vermouth giving me the closest thing to whiskey I was going to get that night. The staff (of all men) was very cute. Our waiter did not do a great job of walking us through the menues and how to order flights. But maybe we were just being needy. Although he didn't seem to have a wealth of wine knowledge he was well versed in beer, cider, and cheese. Once we got our drinks and got to talking the night took it's course. We had a great time and I will come back again for sure. Side note + random thought: I'm not a big wine enthusiast but a few of my friends are. I think the act of "tasting" a wine is such a fiasco. Quite the process... I always expect something exciting to happen and all that ever happens is a raise of half a lip and a slight should shrug if it's just all right, a sour face and a head shake if it's bad, or a solid nod and a raise of the glass for more if they approve. This place is fun! Lots of wine flights to chose from and a good looking menu of more tapas style food. They were busy, and that turned into a long wait every time we needed something. Didn't have water or our second round of wine delivered for a long time. I got the chartreuse plate which I thought from the description and other people having boards of cheeses and meats around me that that would be what we would receive. When it came out there were only three slices of cheese on it, some bread, and pickled vegetables and fruits (which were very vinegary and weird think pickled grape). The waitress came and checked on us and knocked half of the bread on the floor along with spilling the cup of pickled vegis and their juices all over the cheese board, she just said oops and walked away. My husband had ordered the mac and cheese and we asked a half hour after ordering it if she had forgotten to put it in she said in a nasty tone no I didn't forget it just takes a while! Be patient. After thirty minutes I would have thought that would have been patient enough. Although when the mac and cheese did finally arrive it was the best mac and cheese my husband had ever had! Cheesy, creamy, not too salty, with crispy panko crumbles on top. All it needed was a little pepper. Once we had finished it was a long wait for the check I know they were busy but maybe proper time management would have helped. The bathrooms here are cool! Nicely painted with some neat shelving. My husband and I live nearby and used to love this place. Like others have noted, the customer service has gone down hill. Tonight I was the last to be served even though I came in before others - it took 30 minutes for someone to come over and take my first order. As the only person of color in the establishment, I was even more baffled by the lack of attentiveness. It's dimly lit inside and very romantic. We came during October so it was quite cold but we decided to check out the outdoor patio anyway. The wait staff turned on the heater just for us which was really nice. Since it was too cold, nobody wanted to sit outside so we were able to have the spot just for ourselves. I only had a glass of wine of one of their whites that was recommended by the server and it was very good. I would definitely come back here again. Favorite new find!! Great wine selection, wonderful small plates and lovely atmosphere.

Found this place a month ago and we've been back 3 times. It's such a cute spot away from the hustle of the city. Food has always been delicious and we've gotten a few varieties of the meat and cheese platters. I haven't tried too many wines or drinks yet besides the frosé since it's been so ridiculously hot lately. This is one of my favorite charcuterie/cheese/wine places in Seattle. It's cozy, has great ambiance, and is located in one of my favorite small neighborhoods, Madrona. My friend and I usually come here for a mixed board of meat and cheese and one (or two) drinks - my favorite is their Bh Prosecco. Their other foods are great too such as their Grilled Cheese (the tomato jam is so good!) and the Mac N' Cheese. The desserts are pretty good too - they have a rotating selection of house made items that I would recommend if you're in the mood for something sweet (or a float with porter!). How could you not like it here?! It is the most darling house setup as a wine shop and bar. It's warm, comfortable and inviting. I went in the fall and loved that the patio area was covered with a tent and had bulb lighting. My husband and I both had flights and a glass of wine.
