We discovered this spot when we were visiting Seattle and staying at a nearby Airbnb. The atmosphere is welcoming, clearly a small, family led establishment. Husband, wife, and daughter were there the first time we went for a happy hour. They were very engaged with customers and had a good menu. We ended up coming back one more time for a takeout meal. Burger, onion rings, and samosas were the things we ordered. Loved the filling in the samosas, and the chutneys, (though we love a little heat and that was lacking). Our daughter enjoyed her burger, and the onion rings are the crispiest, most delicious onion rings I've ever had! Don't sleep on this place, wishing the family well and many years of success. Such a great brunch experience! We made reservations for 5 on a Sunday at 10:45am. We requested the patio because our friends have an adorable corgi and we also have a baby with a stroller. Patio area is so adorable but with winter season, highly recommend calling to make sure it's open and available! They were playing some upbeat Italian music that made us feel like we were playing the game overcooked lol... Food was delicious! My husband and I shared the French toast and golden plower's hash. Both dishes were delicious! The owner and staff were all so friendly! Highly recommend this cute spot! It's also walking distance from the arboretum! read more

The service was amazing! It was attentive but not overbearing. The patio is very dog friendly and they even made my dogs a little scramble with eggs, bacon and veggies for no charge. They told me that its a rule that all dogs get bacon which is amazing! I was happy to get the scramble though instead of only bacon since my dogs were hungry after a long walk at washington park arboretum. All of the food tasted great too! My only not so great comment was that the artisan bread was not what we were expecting. It was a thin grilled flatbread (i would say it was roti but thats not what it was called on the menu) instead of a fluffier sliced bread or rolls like what we had imagined, but still very tasty. I do plan on making a return trip if im in the area. read more

Found this place looking for breakfast while in the area at Swedish hospital. It was only a few miles away with great reviews. They are only 3 months in and the reviews are right. The environment is a bar with nice seating as well. Clean and cool inside. The service was great. Friendly and quick. I had the garden omelette. It tasted very fresh and it came with crispy hash browns plus toast. The coffee was tasty and hot as well. I took a pic but unfortunately did not remember until I was just about done. This place replaced Kamp Social House and their patio is still dog friendly for brunch. The owner was really nice and actually came out to offer our dog some bacon. The food was very tasty and the service was good too. It's easy to make a reservation though we definitely didn't need out for outside in November. The patio is covered but not heated. We had a great time and would definitely return. read more

The food was delicious, the hosts are welcoming. This is definitely a neighborhood gem. And dogs are very welcome. We sat outdoors and had an absolutely lovely meal including their great burgers and fries, the salmon, the steak and then cheesecake and a chocolate brownie dessert. While I greatly enjoyed my dinner entre and my husband did also, the couple we were with, who live within walking distance of the restaurant, said it was not so liked by them although it was okay. I was rooting for this place given that Madison Valley could use a down home spot, but it's mediocre. The menu has no concept. It's all over the place and written in flowery language. Our drinks were weak, and bizarrely we could not get a burger for dinner. Maybe breakfast is better. I like that it's a family run restaurant but they're trying too hard and not delivering. Focus on fewer things and do them much better so I don't have the feeling that I'm eating from the Sysco truck. read more

The food was alright, my Rueben sandwich was pretty good but both my friends thought their bistro skillet and bacon burger were mid. The server was nice at least. We did order 3 aperol spritz that stated $8 on the menu (online and in person), but then when we got our check it was $11 each. The owner stated that they needed to reprint the menus because their system had updated to $11 and we were lucky to be charged $11 today as they will soon be charging $12... we disagreed and luckily were able to get a "discount" to only be charged $8. We would have gladly paid $11 if this information was brought to our attention sooner, but the excuse just felt weak considering online menus don't need to be reprinted. If the menu given to us states a price, that's what we should be charged. Overall, the vibe had just gotten weird and I don't think we will return. It may be a good fit for someone else. Don't walk, run to this wonderful restaurant. We met one if the lovely owners. They're working hard to deliver a wonderful, consistently amazing experience. From my viewpoint - they've nailed it. The food is amazing, well priced and delicious. Even better than home cooking. We were there during happy hour. Had shrimp grilled (wonderfully spiced) on a bed of arugula, pecans, strawberries and feta. $14. I can't wait to come back. Tonight was trivia night which we couldn't stay for. This is a seattle restaurant unicorn. Delicious, healthy, interesting and affordable meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's our new go to. I can see going a couple times a week. Bravo!! read more

What a great find! From the friendly greeting to the thoughtful service team, this place earns excellent grades on delivering hospitality. What a delightful find. We were looking for something a bit different and Skillet & Vine had it all. The space is very large and comfortable. The menu is extensive and the staff quite warm and friendly. We tried a paneer dish, some soup and a fried bread with chicken dish. Everything was fresh, nicely prepared and well presented. They also have a nice selection of beer and wine and a full bar. The prices are very reasonable given the quality and quantity of the food. Clearly worth a return visit. read more

Once we did, we were told to wait a few more moments because another group had to be checked on before we could get our orders taken. Surprisingly we were still in good spirits. We ordered our drinks, as well as our food so we could be set. Then afterwards our drinks came. This is where my experience spiraled down. I picked up my wine glass filled with this Bordeaux wine that I was excited to try. Pressed the rim against my lip and took my sip. It hit me like a hot flash. The temperature of this wine was warmer than warm. It also wasn't just my wine but my partners's as well. So we managed to get a servers attention, voiced our concern and asked if we could order a different drink. I decided to go with a cocktail and my partner decided to order the Chardonnay. When they dropped off our new drinks, they happened to be the wrong drinks. What had happened was they were a different tables drinks and when we flagged the same server down. they already seemed annoyed that we were gonna address a discrepancy. We eventually got the right drinks then our food. At that point we just wanted to drink our drinks and finish our food. I enjoyed the food flavor wise, but I wasn't satisfied with the amount of food for the price I paid. If it was one of the better things I ate in my life I would be happy with paying however much for the amount of food I got. Sadly that wasn't the case. White wine was chilled so it was good and I liked the Chardonnay. The old fashion wasn't akin to a typical old fashion. It was more like a boulevardier, not as whiskey forward, but more alcoholic. Not my favorite old fashion All in all this review was geared towards service, and quality of the drinks. Especially if you're supposed to be known for the variety of wines you serve. I would hope you can serve them at a decent temperature. Based off this experience alone, I wouldn't personally suggest them if someone was looking for a recommendation.

We came here after a walk in the arboretum and sat on the patio for a drink. We were a little bit hungry and shared a bowl of mushroom soup - it was delicious. Savita was SO friendly and helpful. Most the reviews I read mentioned the pancakes are the best item to get, so my girlfriend and I couldn't resist. This location is tucked away in the North Capitol Hill neighborhood surrounded by trees and older apartments/ homes, and the interior is just as relaxing and quaint. It's dark lit, intimate with modern fixtures and flowers, and has one centerpiece which caught my attention before anything else: a restored tower espresso machine which appeared to be from the 1950's. I'd only seen an espresso machine like this at the Kent Bakke Espresso Museum in Ballard, so as a coffee nerd with an emphasis on espresso, it was lovely to see. It took us about 5 minutes to get seated at the bar which is outstanding time for a brunch spot in Cap Hill on a Sunday. We were able to order within 5 minutes of deciding what we wanted, which was the bacon egg sandwich with avocado spread, omelette with hearth roasted potatoes, an espresso, and the main event, the pancake. I can't express how much the pancake exceeded my expectations. It was wide and tall, extremely fluffy, had decadent bourbon whipped cream and cinnamon stewed strawberries which is something I've craved for a long time. The menu states to wait 20 minutes for the pancake to cook and they miraculously got it to us in 10. The other breakfast items were tasty but left something to be desired, so we ordered extra Romesco sauce and they gave us a tub of it which helped immensely because of how much flavor and complexity was packed in it. The espresso was very fittingly a traditional Italian style dark roast from Caffe Umbria Roasters which hits the spot when hungover. We were also lucky enough to have sat right next to the espresso machine and the bartender kindly let me take a video of him pulling a shot which still gives me joy to this day. Speaking of the bartender, he happened to be one of the chefs working at the bar due to them being down a waiter and a chef which really speaks to how kindly we were treated despite dealing with an extremely short staffed Sunday. Our waitress and the rest of the staff also made us feel welcome and not as an irritant when making requests which is hard to find in Seattle. Overall, my experience at Single Shot left an extremely positive impression on me. We were assisted quickly, never felt as a bother, and got exactly what we needed to recover and enjoy the rest of our day. We will be back for that pancake and will encourage our friends and family to visit!
