This place was busy when I arrived at 10am! We didn't have to wait long though. I got a black coffee and a vegetarian pesto sandwich. It was delicious! Unfortunately, I didn't specify that I wanted the vegetarian one and was first given a chicken pesto sandwich (I didn't even realize there was a chicken option!) Such a cozy and welcoming neighborhood spot! I came around 8:30 on a Sunday morning and it was peaceful at first, then quickly filled with happy customers. The quality of the coffee here depends a lot on who makes it. The first time I came, I really enjoyed it. But on later visits, when I ordered a cappuccino, I was sometimes served a cup that was only half full, and they even mixed up the size I had ordered. Overall, it's a decent place, but if the barista who made my cappuccino is working, you might not be so lucky. P.S. One time I was even charged an extra dollar for sugar. I simply asked them to add sugar, but instead they added flavored syrup, put it on my bill, and never told me there would be an extra charge. read more

What a hidden gem! We've ordered 2 different types of sandwiches and 4 variety of beverages (see photos). Staffs are so friendly explaining all the ingredients and very accommodating to our dietary needs. Upon entering the restaurant, we grab a menu and place order at the counter then grab a table to seat yourself. I for ambience is modern, clean and outdoor seating is also available. I found this elegant coffee shop near where I'm staying on Beacon Hill. The place is laid out in a very comforting and relaxing fashion, serving well prepared coffee drinks and a great selection of pastries. They also have a full wine bar which makes it a great place to come anytime of the day. The staff was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. I will definitely be visiting periodically since it's an enjoyable place to hang. It is located within easy walking distance of the beacon Hill links stop. I recommend the place highly. read more

Enjoyed the vibes at this cafe and all the different foods that they offer. They were helpful and happy to answer any questions we had when ordering. Lattes: autumn latte and mapleine Mocha are both great options, their drinks aren't too sweet which is lovely with seasonal flavors. Although, the oat milk they use in their lattes seems too watery or not creamy enough? It might be the combo of milk to autumn latter syrup/mix though. Chicken sausage breakfast sandwich: great flavor, solid type of bread for a breakfast sandwich, ask for their hot sauce to eat with this, it was excellent! Seasonal butternut squash soup: this was creamy in texture and the oil on top went well with the soup, but for some reason this soup wasn't my favorite Masa waffle: wow the texture on this waffle is so good!! The smoked paprika butter was an interesting change and the tamarind syrup was pretty strong so a little goes a looooong way with the syrup. Make sure you dip and don't pour the syrup on the waffle. I miss Vif in Fremont, never got to Petite Soif on Beacon Hill, but this afternoon I made it a point to stop by Fable, the current business here along busy Beacon Ave S (8/2/23). This stretch from 15th Ave S to Spokane has a nice collection of cafes, bars, and restaurants to check out. After nearly an hour in I-5S traffic, I had to detour through Capitol Hill & CID just to get to Beacon Hill. Lucked out with nearby street parking, and just an fyi, Fable is located along a Metro route and reasonable walking distance from the light rail station. Fable is a lovely oasis, the interior has natural light along the tree lined street. Lush foliage throughout the space. Overhead music to chill out and relax. There's a few sidewalk tables, six indoor tables, some bar/counter seating too. And yes, there's WiFi. Fable exudes a welcoming, neighborhood vibe. Currently, they offer beverages, baked goods, and some eats. I opted for a 16oz Twin Brook Cold Brew Mocha which was very refreshing. The peanut butter cookie had a crisp sugary exterior with moist, flavorful interior crumb. Definitely a nice spot to grab some beer & wine to go, nosh on something tasty, have a pleasant meetup, or a spontaneous detour to just chill. read more

We had reservations to come here on a Saturday around noon. Upon checking in, our table is ready and we were walked to the back. The back patio is absolutely gorgeous. It's a mix of plants/trees and an outdoor covering. Unfortunately the day we went, it was a bit rainy so gloomy overcast, however, you're still covered "indoors." For food, I ordered the omelette, which had sausage and came with a side salad. Overall, the food and service was good and it's a cute place for brunch. I tend to support local small businesses within walking distance so since I moved back to the area, I've already made a few trips here. A very pleasant & cozy day cafe in a newer building. The interior design is very well-done, especially with the blacked out utilities hanging from the ceiling (which often times other businesses just don't bother with); this helps create a strong harmony top-down inside. Feels like a subtle classical big city American diner w/ modern flair. Similar menus and format throughout the day; the dinner time is just a bit less casual. Their vegan options are super decent. Not a huge fan of romesco sauce but the eggplant sandwich is nice. My current favorite item is the seasonal squash soup w/ focaccia bread side (plus extra side bread of baguette). Wholesome, healthy and goes down smooth; plus, who doesn't love a good dipper with sides of bread? They also have a small case of treats. Usually, I'd get the chocolate brownie or spiced scone. Every other morning/afternoon, you'll probably find me getting my decaf oat latte fix with one of their neat house flavors or seasonal specials in my personal mug. Don't forget bringing your own bag (totes are my favorite) for take-out can help them save supplies. Minor things (I can notice these small details) for feedback: The bar counter at the far end could've been extended 6-12" longer to more comfortably fit 1 extra bar seat. The carrots still had their roots & stems intact which felt like something i couldve bought from whole foods without preparing for it. Great selection of food ranging from pastries and waffles, to sandwiches and quiche. Very reasonable prices They make all their pastries in house, and source their bread from Sea Wolf! I travel for work and visit many coffee shops; What sets one above another is the design, fresh ingredients and the smell you you walk in (could be spices, fresh bread or cleanliness). This place is well designed, modern with a touch of home. A place must make you feel comfortable, have plants and make you feel welcomed. It's been tough for me to find a good coffee shop that has all of the above. I'm not sure if they make their own bread, but you can tell that it's made recently, which I appreciate. Although they may not be perfect, they're trying to check all of the boxes. The only things I don't care for (like), are the temperature and the music. read more

Okay, I don't live around here and we found this place kind of by accident but this is literally the gold standard for what a cafe should be and would be my go to if I lived closer. To be fair, I don't drink alcohol so can't speak to that side of this place (although it looks like it has a great selection). But here are all the "yes, checks": 1) Great atmosphere. It had gentle, candle lighting throughout so that I actually thought it was closed but the hours were on the door and I saw a few people inside so we went in. My friend immediately started commenting on the window decor which is currently a lovely display of dried flowers in garland, wreath and vase form. (Available to purchase as well, which is an extra bonus). The seating is simple but comfortable and beautiful. 2) Enticing menu. We went in for a cup of coffee but ended up with a latte, soup, cookies, and a sausage dog. All were delicious. I also loved that they had specialty chocolates, coffee and non alcoholic drink mixes available for purchase on the side for gifts or later treats. I didn't peruse all the baked goods in the case but, looking from a distance I saw that they each looked unique and flavorful and I would've liked to try more. I love a place with variety but also not so packed you can't decide. Also they had some vegan and vegetarian options which I loved. 3) Excellent service. I was meeting here with a friend. We live an hour and a half away from each other and don't get to meet up as often as we would like and this ended up being a perfect place to catch up. Everything else seemed to be closing but this place was open till 9 (on a Saturday). We were never made to feel our time was up and the waitresses filled our water and checked with us but also gave us space. I'm sorry I didn't get their names but they were very kind and friendly, smiley and relaxed which added to the ambience. Perfect experience. Thanks so much!!!! P.s. Prices! Use to go to Petit Soif but they closed due to Covid. Fable finally opened earlier this year. They are an all-day cafe during the day with some really good options for breakfast and lunch. Beacon finally have more brunch options and brought the kids this past weekend, they really enjoyed the waffles, I had the smoked salmon sandwich, kids took my sandwich too. After 4pm, they start table service. Been back a couple of times for dinner. Portions surprisingly larger than I thought. The beet salad was one of my fav with different types of beets. Second fav was their braised pork cheek. Large variety of wine, mostly on the lighter side. Service is personable. Ambiance is nice and quiet. Very cute place for a date or girls dinner. Will be back tomorrow for a belated birthday celebration with my girlfriends. read more

I don't like to complain. Made reservations for Mother's Day for 11AM for a small party of 4. We left at 12:30 pm because food had not yet been served. Later found out from the table next to us that the computers were down as they were leaving un-served. The manager kept seating customers as if there wasn't a care in the world. I was mostly upset that we kept getting told we would be served in 10 minutes, 30 minutes later we left. Secondly, we noticed walk-in customers at the bar came in after us and left at noon. I chose the masa waffle but they substituted jam for the tamarind syrup (because they ran out). I feel like for the price, there should have been a few greens on the side instead of just a bare empty plate with one big dry waffle with beautiful (but difficult to spread) discs of butter. I could have used 3-4 more of those discs especially with no tamarind syrup (tangy tamarind sounds yummier than sugary strawberry jam).
