a wine store with lots of wine

Professional and welcoming staff. The staff here are extremely engaging and helpful in allowing me to taste things on tap before I made a final decision. There are a variety of options on tab and I even found one of my favs here "Ginger Revenge." No complaints. There are a few events going on here and food trucks that visit, so I hope to make an appearance here again as this is convenient to my side of town and the commute is effortless.

Incredible selection of craft beer; 2nd to none! Knowledgeable staff and comfortable seating. Good cross-section of tap beers and plenty of cold cans in their fridge. Great spot to find and taste many new beers from both local, national and international breweries. If you're a beer nut, this is your spot! As a bonus, your beer-hating wife can indulge in their incredible wine selection while you focus on the beer .

I'm going to split my review for this place because one shouldn't affect the other. Bottle shop: This place has a lot of selection! A lot of their beers seem to be harder to find or higher ABV because they were a bit pricey. Half the store is wine, so you should definitely be able to find something good. You can order craft beer on draft, get a can from the cooler, order a "mixed" drink like a sangria or beer-mosa, or get a glass of wine. Staff: To me, it felt like the guy who was working last night was picky about who he chose to help quickly. Both times I went to the bar to order he either kept working on something else and made me stand there waiting (The girl there ended up helping me because of him not addressing me). When I closed out I had to wait again while he wasted a minute trying to give a dog a treat. I wasn't impressed with the service.

Bottles and Cans is your favorite neighborhood hangout. It's conveniently walking distance from my apartment in Morrisville so that's a plus, too We've been several times and have had pleasant experiences every time. We went last night and sat at the bar. Very lively crew at night and fun to be here. I like that the bartender allows you to taste before you buy--their cider is awesome. I also like their Prosecco. I'm not usually a beer drinker but they have something on tap for everyone. Their shop is really neat inside--one of the bartenders helped us find a wine that ended up being a hit at wine night last time. They also have an impressive craft beer collection. Their patio allows people to take advantage of warm, sunny days and dogs are allowed. Something cool I noticed last night was the $2 cooking wine section--because no one wants to pay an arm and a leg for something being reduced down.

A nice neighborhood wine/beer shop. Great events, such as this week's Oktoberfest w/ live music. Every other week or so they have a food truck out front. And last, the owners Steve and Amy, are friendly and knowledgeable on what they serve. Update 11/29/19 - still the best neighborhood drinking spot in town! Very relax environment. Perfect place to chill at table by yourself or meet new people. Food truck every Tuesday! Love this place!!!!

Bottles & Cans has a good selection of beer and wine to purchase and on tap. It's a cute spot too, we stopped in to grab a drink and enjoyed ourselves.

Short version: I enjoyed what I found at Bottles & Cans Beer and Wine Shop. Nice beverage selection for taking home, and a good variety of draft beer and wine to drink at the shop if you'd like. Ownership/staff is very nice and B&C delivers a very welcoming overall package. I really like these guys! The Deets: When riding around on the way home this weekend, the Open Now sign over at Bottles & Cans Beer and Wine Shop caught our eye so we went to check it out. This bottle shop is very nicely done, very open for the given space they have but plenty of beverages shelved to peruse to take home. I like their selection, even a decent cider section which I particularly enjoy. With a bar set up in back, they have a pretty nice selection of beers on tap as well as wine by the glass on tap as well. If not wanting to sit at the bar, they have a nice TV lounge like area, tables located on the side next to the windows, seating outside the front door as well as a nice patio seating setup in the back. The beer menu has good variety, not like some places that have half their menu filled up with IPAs since it's the going "thing" lately. The variety of both draft beer and wine selections made a good impression on me. The owners/staff were very positive, receptive, and helpful. I also found out that even though they do not serve food here, they have a deal worked out with Famous Toastery a couple of doors down where you can order food to be delivered to B&C and also get a percentage (20%) off your order as well. This bottle shop is quaint and inviting, and worth a look-see. Enjoying a couple of beverages there, B&C grew on me and I really see me spending more time here in the future.

    Food Truck Tuesday's!

A great location is matched only by the hospitality of Steve and Amy. The beer selections and wine selections are special and truly hand picked. I love the fact that we can bring our dog with us and he is most welcome. The shop also has great wifi allowing you to grab an after work drink while still finishing up that project on your laptop. Beers on tap are served in a variety of sizes from 2oz to 32 oz growlers. They even have wine on tap and growlers for the wine as well. With their great collection of wines and weekly wine tastings, this is your newest local bottle shop with a focus on the beer and wine you love to drink. If they don't have it, just ask and it will likely be in the following week.

Stopped by RBF recently for an afternoon drink and really enjoyed my experience!…read more First, we ended up finding street parking right next to RBF, but I think there may also be a dedicated parking lot outside the back patio? Not entirely sure since we still have no idea how to access it, but maybe look for that lot if street parking is challenging :) Anyway, RBF is located in the basement of a building, so we had to take an elevator down from the entrance we took. Inside, it's got chill vibes - it definitely feels like a wine bar :) We ended up sitting inside on a high top, but there were various couches and a good amount of outdoor seating available as well. It took a while for our server to come check in with us, but she was super friendly and helpful with the wine selections once she came over. I got a random glass of red wine (they do not serve beer, in case you were wondering!) while my wife tried out a couple of tasters and then picked out a white wine for herself. The wine was pretty tasty and it was definitely a generous portion. After sitting there for a while, we also decided to grab some bread with pesto on the side. It took a sec for it to come out, but it wasn't bad! Nothing extraordinary but I wasn't expecting anything super gourmet, so it was totally fine. Overall, we had a great experience here and I would definitely stop by again on a date night.

In fact, we had to sit at the bar because a few tables were reserved - I didn't know you could do this but good to know now for the future. I would recommend getting a reservation if you can for a Friday evening. We sat at the bar and had a wonderful time. The space is so gorgeous and leans into women's empowerment. We had a bottle of cava between us as well as the extra kneady board, which had bread plus 3 spreads. For our spreads we got goat cheese, garlic butter, and hummus. Um WOW, the goat cheese was SO GOOD. Like so good. You should visit simply to have warm bread and goat cheese for girl dinner. This is a great space to spend an afternoon or evening. We ended up leaving to explore other places in downtown Cary and wish we had just stayed at the bar. What a wonderful experience!

I ordered the crispy cauliflower app which was delish! Don't let the raisins sway your decision - it's suttle but just right with the cauli. The food was pretty good. I started with the tortellini soup and had the French toast from the Brunch menu. For drinks, I tried the pineapple mimosa, but it was warm, which really affected the flavor. I also ordered an espresso martini, and unfortunately it had an artificial taste that I would not recommend, especially for the price. One issue we ran into was the number of flies around our table. Even though we were seated inside, there were several constantly circling, and one ended up landing in my water. Our waitress tried to help, but the problem continued. Overall, I enjoyed the food and the service, but I would come back for the food only and not for the drinks.

We started with a build-your-own charcuterie board featuring soppressata, prosciutto, Manchego, Pecorino, Cheddar, and Camembert. The meats and cheeses were all excellent, and the variety made it a perfect pairing for exploring Cru's extensive wine list. For my entrée, I had the Wagyu Picanha steak with papas bravas and the "jumbo" asparagus. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was wonderfully flavorful. The papas bravas were equally delicious. The asparagus, however, gave us a good laugh--it must have been on a diet because there was absolutely nothing "jumbo" about it! We also ordered the Barolo-braised short rib, which was incredibly tender, rich, and packed with flavor. It practically melted in your mouth. Dessert was the Tiramisu Cake, and it was outstanding. Rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced, it was the ideal ending to a great meal. Between the fantastic food, relaxed atmosphere, and seemingly endless wine selection, Cru is a place we'll gladly return to. Just don't judge the asparagus by its menu description!

THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED…read more I had high hopes and those were quickly dashed when we entered. The music while not blaring, was definitely too loud for the type of establishment CRU is meant to be. The layout was not at all cozy, the chairs were hard and uncomfortable, the bathrooms were not tidy. We ordered a flight of white and a flight of red white. All were OK, nothing memorable. The food was a huge letdown. We ordered the fritto misto, everything save the 3 large shrimp was way, WAY overcooked. Whoever fried the food had to have seen it was over because all the breading had fallen off. They obviously didn't care as they tossed it in the bowl anyway. The charcuterie board was Food Lion quality, the cheese in particular (goat and Manchego) were bland and devoid of character. Our server was obviously in the wrong line of work. She never checked how our food was but instead spent her time chatting with another young (very disheveled) lady. When we asked the country of origin of the ONE prosecco that CRU offers, our server replied, "Dunno, it's European."

I just don't think I expected what I got. Upon entering, I was received by a small very warm and beautifully lit bar that simply felt special. I looked over the available wine and asked the gentleman at the corner seat if the seat next to him was taken. Little did I know that the gracious gentleman who kindly offered me the seat was none other than the proprietor of Niche, Mr. Ted Powell and that's when my night really started as Ted graciously regaled me with amazing stories between the pause on the songs played by the band. What a vibrant spirit this man has. If you go here, you have to meet Ted. From telling me about how he acquired the place, his daughter, Budstock, Maverick Rose Music Hour, and sharing details of each nights events at Niche, he made my first visit (just me myself and I) a beautiful one. He couldn't stop talking about how wonderful a mixologist Andy is. Don't get it twisted. This man is more than a bartender. He's a diplomatic mixologist who knows how to let patrons know, in the most respectful but boundary maintaining way, how to behave. I saw him in action and it was a beautiful thing to see him basically offer up a dose of kindness with a dash of "you better check yourself before you wreck yourself." If a place could be described by one word, Niche's word would be KINDNESS. I felt like I was taken care of. Thank you Ted and Andy for being so kind on my first visit and turning my night around.
