Total con man-RUN from ASAP blinds and Darryl Newborn!…read more Darryl Newborn is as slick as they come-paid 10K for customized roller shades to cover my back patio-took about a year from initial payment (dude requires 75% up front-that should have been the red flag but I was dumb) to when shades were installed-some story about shipping from China (came to learn shades came from Seattle-this guy can spin them), and they shipped the wrong shades-story after story Finally shades come in and employs some incompetent installer to do the work that had ZERO idea what he was doing When Darryl continued to ghost me after the faulty installation (and their attempt to fix the faulty instillation) i was lucky enough to find the original manufacturer of the shades (who btw told me that he doesn't do business with Daryl anymore cuz Daryl doesn't pay his bills-he couldn't get a hold of Daryl either) who got me in contact with a reputable shade installer who came and fixed everything-the install was a total mess-so lucky that this didn't fall and hurt/kill someone Never in my life have I dealt with someone this dishonest and deceptive-to be fair though it probably is just complete incompetence-claims he's been in houston for decades but the Houstonians I know don't act like this-go back to wherever your from Darryl Regardless DO NOT do business with him unless you just want to give him your $ for nothing

I asked them about shutters and they immediately shut me down saying they were too expensive. When I contacted HWB, Bryan responded right away and came out. I was having a lot of work done at the house when he came but he was patient and took his time showing me options and making recommendations. When I asked about shutters he explained the pros and cons and had actual samples ao I could see how they would look on my windows. He took measurements of all the windows and advised me what would and would not work. Bryan was personable and knowledgeable. He was patient as we weighed our options and answered our emailed questions quickly. The prices were reasonable and he gave me hope when we found out many of our windows were now super shallow. The installer came on time, was efficient and super nice. They explained how to care for the shutters and that they had a life time warranty. First, 2 of our blinds was damaged during installation. Then we waited months for replacement parts, and once they finally arrived, the blinds were installed incorrectly--and the company stopped communicating with us altogether. We ended up having to call the blind manufacturer directly for help fixing and programming them. Even now, the solar panels have fallen off the windows. Shockingly, they were only held on with double-sided tape, rather than the proper metal brackets the manufacturer said should've been used from the start. These were expensive blinds. We expected professionalism and proper support. Instead, we received poor workmanship, long delays, and no customer care. We cannot recommend this company.
