Took a gold bracelet here to resize - the young woman waiting on me said she'd have to get the owner to give me a price and they would keep it overnight for this and said she'd call me back. One week, no call. I call them, leave a message. No call. I finally get someone when I call, week two, and the woman tells me it would be very expensive to shorten. I ask when I can come get it. She will call me back. No call, three weeks. I leave a threatening message that I will be coming in and if I don't have my bracelet my next stop will be the police. Show up, no bracelet, relay my concerns. Young woman says it's in a locked office that she can't enter. Fine, get a call back that it's ready, go in and collect my bracelet. Three weeks to one month. During this I notice my voucher says "anything left longer than 60 days will be considered abandoned". So that's the scheme, I guess. Wonder how much merchandise there is ill gotten goods. Initially, they quoted me a fair price for cleaning, but after inspecting the rings, they mentioned they didn't need much cleaning. Instead, they shined them up beautifully and didn't charge me a thing! Wanted to a follow up on last review. I brought my ring in to check the prongs and one was broken. I left the ring for repair and was told it would be 6 weeks to repair. After 3 business days I returned to cancel the request but was denied my ring back saying he was out of town and were unable to get in the room that the ring was locked up until he returned to town. After much discussion I was told that they would call me that afternoon. They had said 90% of the work was done and my ring would b available for pick up the following day. When I picked up the ring, he had destroyed my diamond, there are large cuts on both sides of the ring. So sad the a man calling himself a certified jeweler would destroy an heirloom diamond wort over $10,000. I have waited many months before writing my review due to being so upset. Please do not trust these people with your valuable jewelry. I pray for you daily. I want to cry everyday when I look at my ring. read more

He offered to put two rings on consignment and couldn't even give an appraisal after 3 months. He drags you along as if he will get it done. We shopped at this store for over 20 years - not any more. Liars. We have a "replica watch" and Vernon's replaced the battery once some time ago, quickly and kindly. Needing a new battery we went back. After three months of lying about it taking time to get the battery, to disassemble the watch and reassembly... with each step, being VERY demeaning about this being a "fake"... finally they call saying the Fake Watch is ready. Unaware of where to buy jewelry boxes I first went to Jacksons. They looked at me as if I was out of my mind. Apparently they weren't in the business of selling boxes. Next I went across the street to Vernon's and Alan was kind enough to let me pick out what I needed from a collection of old boxes he had collected over the years. The owner Alan yelled at me on the phone and then in his storefront because I was 1) unhappy with the repair work they did that lasted less than 90 days and 2) was not pleased with his offer to fix it for free after he had shouted at me. I tried to retrieve my ring without dealing with him, but he was waiting for me and seemed hopped up and ready for an altercation. I was already unnerved and I told him I didn't want to have a conversation with him, just wanted my ring. He really seemed to want a fight from me and was disappointed that I continued to ask "why do you want to engage in this behavior with me? I'm trying to leave". They have a fantastic selection of watches, customized jewelry pieces such as rings, bracelets, etc. I have been here a few times, the last time I had to get a ring fixed that I purchased when I took a trip to Hawaii. I had excellent customer service, it cost me $25.00 to fix the gold ring, but I was able to get it by the next day and it looked better than when I purchased it in Hawaii. Terrible, I was to by their repair/appraiser that he could fix my watch. I left it with him back in the beginning of November, checking back in every two weeks. He continued telling me that he had not gotten around to it, so I finally gave him a month, and a half with no contact.
