At my appointment, we discussed the length of my hair and let Trinh know that I liked it on the longer side, not above my chin. I had a lot of new growth since starting hair vitamins, but I clearly didn't want my hair cut down to the new growth or anywhere near! Trinh is very quick, seemingly implusive with her "snipping", THEN she says, "I have to check my cut." More snipping. I didn't feel Trinh was focused on my haircut, frequently responding to conversations going on with other staff. I paid $120 for a Deva cut - my hair is fine and a bit thin, so I was charged the lowest price for the Deva cut. Trinh said "my haircuts last for 4 months." I can see why. It will take 4 months for my hair to grow to a length that I like. Trinh was very nice and took a lot of time teaching me how to use Deva products and was constantly "checking the cut" but kept on snipping. In the past, I have often left with a Deva cut that was frizzy. My hair was not frizzy when I left the salon. That's the best I can say about my experience and that the shampoo assistant did a very nice job.

I went in and was entirely unhelpful about what I wanted with my hair -- I wanted red but not too red and not purple-y red, I part my hair differently depending on the day, I wasn't sure the length I wanted etc. And she very patiently listened to everything I had to say and mixed a color for me. She spent so much time carefully selecting each portion of my hair, and applying the dye. She ended up creating the perfectly natural red highlights that blended with my already highlighted hair. She took so much time to blow dry it, and to perfect the cut (when my hair was both dry and wet) -- she first asked me and then took about 5 inches off which made my hair so much healthier! The salon is in a shopping center with ample parking. It's spacious and clean. Jim saw me right on time and assessed my hair. I was way over do for a cut and was losing my curl pattern. We've had a couple less than stellar cuts, but kids move and things happen. We've also had some good cuts - so I understood why they come so highly recommended. Our son's hairline has a point and not only was it cut off (not the first time), but his entire hairline was raised (and unevenly). I asked for it to "just be cleaned up" and it's summer-cut short... it's a horrible bowl cut in the front instead of his cute part. I had Celia, but I would bet that they are all very capable there. 4) I have a spinal injury and they made me as comfortable as possible at all times without being overly solicitous. It's a physically large salon that has apparently been around a long time. They clearly deserve their success. I would highly recommend it.

It was difficult to get an appointment! I submitted a website forum and called the work phone several times. The best way to contact is via text message to the work phone! Totally understandable that they are busy, but I didn't get a reply for 3 weeks. The salon is decently sized for 2 stylists! Jess is the owner and manager; Abby is her work partner. I had my hair lightened and cut by Abby! She was chill and knew exactly how to blend my existing blonde pieces with babylights. Love a low maintenance look. I've been going to this salon for almost 2 years during which time the owner, Jessica, has never greeted me or even acknowledged my presence; we've never had a conversation and she knows nothing about me, so I was truly baffled by her behavior. After this experience and after reading the reviews on this site, I think this business may cater to--or want to serve-- a much younger crowd and am guessing that's what the owner prefers. EDIT: the reply from the owner is untrue: I don't know who her "Staff" might be other than Abby (who was my stylist)--I have never emailed her and in fact do not know Abby's email address. This salon will treat you like you're not good enough for them. After getting your hair done you won't feel beautiful, you'll feel like you just wasted the salon's time with your business, and you did: the owner, Carissa, made it clear to me that she doesn't need my business or anyone else's. Don't let her saccharine-sweet texts fool you: she's judging you. After I got a bad keratin treatment at Salon Domane, I texted Carissa and asked to have it fixed. Instead of taking me at my word, Carissa said that my stylist, Amanda, would have to verify that the keratin didn't take: before fixing it, Amanda would have to look at my hair and she couldn't "look" at it for 2 weeks. I've had keratin treatments for years (at other salons), I know when they don't take to my hair, and the stylists have fixed it within days - they've prioritized me because I've already paid them and have never questioned my honesty. Carissa also said she would have Amanda call me. Never heard from Amanda. When I expressed that I wasn't happy with waiting more than 2 weeks to have my hair repaired, Carissa called me & said that I didn't respect her livelihood or Amanda's. She eventually realized that I just didn't want to wait any longer to have the hair I'd paid her business for weeks ago. The morning of the appt to look at my hair, I texted Carissa to thank her again for her phone call and the resolution we agreed upon. That morning Amanda finally called me, too. Talking to me as if I was moron, who knew her daily schedule, she told me that her reason for not calling sooner was that she was too busy. Amanda then blamed my hair looking terrible on medication she assumed I was taking because I had previously confided in her that I struggle with PTSD. Low blow. After blaming my hair on my health, Amanda finally assured me that she would fix my hair in a timely manner. Five minutes after Amanda's call, Carissa called me again, this time, irate. Somehow she had misinterpreted my "thank you, again" text as a threat (what?!). She said she was refunding me for the terrible keratin, Amanda was not going to fix it, and she never wanted to see me again. Along with her misunderstanding of my text of gratitude, her reasons for refusing my business were: she didn't like my energy (she's never met me) & I don't respect hairstylists (clearly a sore spot, & invalidated). She & I had commiserated in our last phone call about the challenges of being in a service industry. I absolutely respect her industry and empathize with her. I would never treat someone, whether they're a client or not, the way I was treated by Salon Domane. If you choose to provide a service to people, you should know how to treat people when they're unhappy with your service and show them some compassion. Having just moved to this area, I hope everyone here is more welcoming than the people at Salon Domane. I would not want them representing my community. I have never been treated so poorly over something so small. And this was the short version.
