I just had a bad day when I broke my iphone 5's glass. It's so disturbing to see my iphone broke and the glass starts to scatter. I truly had a "Better than perfect" outcome with Boulder Mac Repair. Rebecca was especially knowledgeable and helpful. I came in with my Macbook Pro expecting to have to shell out hundreds and hundreds to simply find out what was wrong with it. After they cleaned the machine internally, I took Rebecca's advice about a recall on my machine, and ended up with my logic board and defective screen replaced by Apple for free... in a one-day turnaround!!! Last month I needed a new Charger for my MacBook, bought a cheaper 3rd party one from another Boulder store (open on a Sunday when I needed it). It failed on the 33rd day, they refunded my money. I then spoke to Rebecca at Boulder Mac Repair, she explained this charger needs a special chip, and 3rd party versions may not have it. Excellent rapid service! What would you do when your laptop fan goes belly up one and a half days before an international trip? Head to 29th Street and try to get the Genius Bar folks to fix it. Great, but when they say its going to take 5-10 days, and no other store has the part you need, that isn't going to work. All it took was a quick call and stop at Boulder Mac Repair and after listening to my needs (they had the part) they installed it within an hour. Absolutely fantastic and a complete save for my work trip. Labor seemed a bit high, but I was willing to pay to get myself functional again. Would recommend this as an alternative to the Mac store if you are out of warranty or in desperate need of rapid service. read more

Great service! Had glass replaced there a while back, then went in recently because my LCD screen on my iPhone was failing and the phone was therefore almost useless. They fixed it quickly for around $140 (not cheap but cheaper than a new phone!). A month later my screen had developed a dead spot on it so I brought it back in. I was a few days past the 30-day warranty but they still honored it and replaced the screen for free. Phone works great again! Quick service too, and for those of us who depend on our phones for work you know how valuable that can be. read more

I literally left my Macbook Pro outside on top of a table forgot about it and realized that evening after it RAINED that I left it outside. My laptop was sitting in a puddle of water! Took my macbook to them the next day and I was sure my computer was toast! The fixed it for a reasonable price and it was as good as new! Sean is a super nice guy. My sister also bought an older white macbook from them when she moved to Boulder, it came with a new cord and 3 month warranty. Her macbook only last her a little over year and it has issues now but I think that is due to it being 7 years old and she doesn't take care of it like she should. They replaced the internal antenna on my iPhone a few months ago. When it started experiencing the same problems yesterday, I took it in expecting them to replace the antenna under warranty. The guy said this can't be the problem, then offered to charge me another $65 to replace the antenna again if I wanted to try it. I won't be going back here again. read more

These guys fixed my screen and installed a solid state drive for me when my hard drive died. I was considering buying a new Mac but unhappy with my memory options. Boulder Mac Repair set me up with more power and memory than Apple could and I got to keep my old computer. It runs beautifully now. I was having some issues with my computer making noise and the apple store told me they could replace the fan and it would fix the problem...a couple hours later they informed me that my drive had crashed and I had to take it elsewhere, I ended up going to Boulder Mac Repair and the employes were so nice and so helpful and explained to me exactly what they were doing and what charges would be made...at an extremely reasonable price they fixed my computer by the next day for under $100 when I was expecting to have to purchase a whole new computer. IPhone 4 would not recognize the charging cable any more. Apple Store says throw it away and upgrade, the 30 pin connector has a bent prong, the repair is not offered here. I was about to take their advice but made a quick call to Boulder Mac Repair. " I can fix it for $40 but it will take 45 minutes." As if waiting 45 minutes would be a problem..... The worst business in all of Colorado. They stole my laptop and I had to get the police involved. They still denied stealing my computer so I had to pay my lawyer to help out. I spent hundreds of dollars on attorneys fees in the end. They are absolute crooks. PLEASE spend your money elsewhere. So for the whole story. I brought them my MacBook when I bought a new MacBook and they said they would transfer the files over. After they were done they were supposed to ship my old computer to a my family member who wanted it. A week went by. No word. Two weeks. No word. I called and they blamed it on ups. Over a month went by and still no package arrived. They said they had the tracking number and it had been sent and signed for already. They said "it was probably someone in the apartment complex that signed for it" but I was sending it to a very very rural area in the northeast with no immediate neighbors or apartments. No way that could happen. Two months went by. Still no help from the store. They said it was my problem and I had to deal with ups but they wouldn't give me any tracking information and were being weird on the phone. They just wanted me to go away. So I called the police and told the police officer the story. He said he would go over and talk with them. I mean hell. I'm not going to let this business just steal my computer out from under me. They called me back furious with legal council. Then I had to get my lawyer involved. At this point it was more about the principal of the matter and not money. I was pissed and willing to do whatever to took so they couldn't get away with this. Spent hundreds in lawyer fees for a computer worth about $200. Another few weeks go by of lawyer threatening. Randomly I get a phone call from Mac repair. " we have your computer here in the shop. Apparently it was under a few things in the back of the owners car. Come pick it up". Wow really? And no apology? I go down to pick it up and they give me my computer with no power cord. I politely explained that when I dropped it off a few months ago it had a cord. They said "you never gave us a power cord". I was so tired and fed up with this place by this time I just left. As I was walking out I could hear the employee and the owner in the back laughing at me. If that isn't a business horror story then I don't know what is. read more

Brought my daughters iPhone 4 in because the screen was shattered. The phone still worked to make calls if she pushed the home button then used voice commands. So Boulder Mac Repair takes it in and they tell her it will be fixed in a few hours for $90. She went back to get it and he said he replaced the screen, but somehow it will not get phone service. He said the antenna was broken. She told him it worked fine when she brought it in there. He said that he would only charge her for the labor and put the old screen back on for her. Are you kidding, he broke her phone, and he couldn't fix it, but he still wanted to charge her for labor. She told him to get someone else to look at it and try to fix it. A couple days later he said his boss worked on it and could not fix it. They gave it back to her with a cracked screen, but did not charge her. Still wont get service. Horrible experience, got the phone back after 2 days in worse condition than she left it. She ended up using her AT&T insurance and replacing the handset for $200 read more

Wow, this has been the single worst experience I have ever had with a tech repair. I was recommended to this shop by a friend after my phone screen cracked and went in for a repair. They repaired my 5s in an hour, but a mere day later my phone dropped from an extremely minor height (the kind of drop we all experience from time to time and never incur any damage from) and cracked HORRENDOUSLY - even worse than the initial crack I went in to get it fixed for (which I might note was from a much harsher drop). I went back to the store figuring that because this was a small local business who I (so very wrongly) assumed would value customer satisfaction, they would fix the screen that they replaced faultily without issue. This was not the case. The manager of the store was both unreasonable and severely lacked any level of sympathy. He refused to repair my phone for anything less than $120, which is an ABSURD amount to have to pay for a screen that was very clearly placed VERY POORLY (the screen is popped half off of the phone, in addition to being extremely cracked), especially after just having spent the same amount a day earlier to get it fixed. I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST REPAIRING YOUR PHONE HERE. This is a business that is both run very poorly and does not in any way uphold to the standards and values that we hope for in our small local businesses. I purchased a refurbished 15" MacBook Pro for $500 from this company in May of 2013 after I'd had my own Mac worked on and repaired by them. As they'd done a decent job repairing my computer and because they're a local Boulder company, I thought for sure that I could trust them to sell a working computer, albeit refurbished. I bought it for my husband who's in a PhD program, and only needed it for writing papers and lectures, doing research, and using PowerPoint. He barely used the computer until August of 2013 as he had the summer off. In late September the computer started having some issues, and finally crashed completely. We took it back to the store in early October 2013, only to hear that because we were outside the 3 month warranty they wouldn't do anything about it, and that it was totally unrepairable. I explained to them that we'd hardly even used it for 3 of the 5 months and that even though it was 2 months outside of their warranty it is totally unacceptable that they sold us a computer that we can't even have fixed. The very least they could have done is to give us a partial refund or purchased it back for parts. To top it off, the owner tried to blame the issue on a small dent in the back of the computer, which had been there from the get go. I will NEVER recommend that anyone bring business to Boulder Mac Repair, and will in fact recommend that they don't. read more

So happy with the work from Boulder Mac Repair. Earlier last year I brought in an iPhone 5S to get my screen fixed - they did it for under $100 and same day. A few weeks ago, I brought in my Macbook Air with water damage so bad that I couldn't even boot up the computer (spilled coffee on the keyboard - oof). Apple was going to charge me $800+ to replace the parts, but Boulder Mac Repair did a chemical clean and had my computer working again in a few days. What great service! MAC power cable went kaput in the middle of a hectic work day (battery holding power lonnnngg gone). Popped right on over to the super friendly guys at this cool little shop (loved the photo of Steve with his 70's 'stache) - no appointment necessary, and a few minutes later, my charging cable had the green light again. They replaced my iPhone screen and repaired damage (caused by another company in town that damaged it while trying to replace my screen), all in about an hour!
