When our MacBooks took a bath in vegetable stir-fry, the geniuses at Apple confirmed our fears that both computers were trashed and not fixable. They also told us that my data was irretrievable. Business is business and that's how things work, I get that. When I had an issue with an iphone screen repair, I was initially told I'd have to pay full price to replace a screen that BMR had just fixed less than 24 hours ago. But BMR proved they understand that people matter when it comes to business too. Humans and their emotions...Phones and technology are particularly frustrating and hotbutton issues for consumers, and I'm no different. I was upset when I left after they'd told me I'd have to pay full price again, even after I offered to pay half as a compromise. But then they called back 20 minutes later and told me that they didn't want me to have a horrible day, they didn't want me to have such a negative experience with their team and that they would replace the screen again, for less than I'd offered. They fixed it up very quickly, and made sure that I left happy, off to have a good day instead of a frustrating one. It meant a lot to me that they reconsidered and took the compromise. I was really impressed with Boulder Mac Repair. I called them months after having liquid damage to my MacBook Pro and getting a crazy $850 repair quote from the Apple Store (to replace the motherboard- not covered by AppleCare). They were really helpful and friendly and let me know they had an alternative to replacing the motherboard outright- they could do a special liquid cleaning process and see if that would repair the damage. The price was really fair ($200 if they could fix it and $125 if it was unsuccessful, but they would also back up the hard drive for that price). They kept me informed every step of the way and it was fixed really quickly. I was really happy with the outcome, as I type this review on my restored laptop. :) I was a little surprised they charged such a large fee to pay with a credit card over the phone, but aside from that (which we did avoid by going in to pay), I thought everything was outstanding. I had brought my computer in for a liquid cleaning after it met its match with a bottle of wine. Charles and Landon (the two Mac experts) were so terrific. My iPhone 4s was not working properly, after being to two Verizon stores with some knowledgeable people, whose only solution was buy a 5 for $500 because my contract was not up until February, fixed my phone for $40. When I took my computer to the Apple store with internet connection problems, which has been helpful in the past, they told me that they weren't sure what the problem was but it was mechanical. Their Genius Bar person told me that it was too expensive to repair or would take too long and I should just buy a new computer and handed me to a salesman. The salesman got a bit more real, and suggested alternatives including the Mac Shack, a USB airport, and Boulder Mac Repair The Mac Shack people were rude, told me it would take at least a week, maybe two, maybe if I was lucky; the USB airport at Best Buy was reasonable but not a real fix. When I called Boulder Mac Repair, they immediately knew what the problem was, said it was common, and said they could fix it in two to three days. My son's I-Phone screen was totally shattered so with no fear, I went to Verizon since I have been paying an extra 5 bucks for a year now for insurance on his phone. Much to my dismay after a 45 minute wait - I was given an instruction card of how to file a claim on line. After anther 25 minutes on line, I found I have a deductible of $186.00. I AM AMAZED! I have a macbook air 13 inch 2015, it randomly froze while in use and shut off on me. I tried everything to turn it back on until I gave up to bring this laptop to IT services at CU boulder, Apple store, and best buy's geek squad. All three of these places could not do anything about my laptop! I had brought in a MacBook Pro 13" for repair (a water spill), and the technician, Rebecca, determined that the motherboard (logic board) was damaged and needed to be replaced. I was quoted a price for a refurbished logic board, which I approved, and when Rebecca had gotten it in, found it to be unsatisfactory and let me know she did not trust the repair with this board. She did offer to obtain a new board for a higher cost, so I opted to go for it since the resulting cost was still less expensive than a full replacement. My point of this review is that I greatly appreciated that Rebecca was looking out for my interests, and with her expertise saved me from a bad repair experience. read more

All the guys here are fantastic! Anything Apple related that needs fixing, come here!! No driving to a mall and dealing with boards of people trying to set up their first iPad, or hearing "you just need to update your software" 100 times before you are seen. Just easy walk in, and superior customer service. I took my 2012 MacBook Pro in because it would spontaneously shut down with over 50% battery left. After a quick test, it was a simple battery replacement. Saved me thousands since I didn't need to buy a new computer. They were able to change out the battery within an hour!! Outstanding!. My iPhone stopped charging. Charles the manager worked on my phone for over an hour replacing parts and battery etc. Unfortunately the problem was more serious (logic board). Charles said he could replace it but it would not be worth it. He returned my phone to me and patiently spent his time walking me through options and helping me get the phone backed up to be ready for replacement.... and then....CHARGED ME NOTHING!!!!!! My Mac Mini started getting really slow, then making funny noises, then the funny whirling rainbow wouldn't stop. And then my Mac stopped. Period. Hard drive near failure. Sucks! Rebecca was able to recover the data - including the Parallels that runs with Windows - with no loss of data at all. I did have to easily reinstall Parallels, but Windows and programs underneath it were working perfectly. I got a great amount of water all over my macbook and took it to another shop in Boulder and was told it will be 10-12 days before the computer got fixed. Considering the amount of water it was poured on it; I wasn't going to let the computer sit on their shelf until they got to it. I called Boulder Mac Repair and they took it in and it was fixed within 24 hrs. They offered a rush fee, which I was more than willing to pay in order to save a $1200 computer. Satisfied with the overall service, OK pricing. Took a couple days longer than expected to repair my Macbook Pro. Would've went to the Longmont Store had I known. They were faster and slightly cheaper however I didn't feel like driving. I'd guess the Boulder store just takes longer because of all the college kids in town and their Apple stuff.
