I went to two separate mechanics and they both said I actually didn't need any of the services they mentioned and that none of those items were an issue. They told me I needed new spark plugs but both mechanics said those weren't due until 60,000 miles. They said I needed new break pads but both mechanics said my break pads were fine and had at least 40% of life left. Fucking disgusting. My service rep is Ethan Lee and I've requested multiple times to change him because he's obviously a complete scumbag! My new car will be ready for trade-in next year and when I go to upgrade you'll be 100% sure it will not be at Gebhardt and I will make the extra drive to go to another dealership for service.

After speaking with my service advisor, I was presented with eight "recommended" services totaling about $850. My Tacoma has fewer than 30,000 miles, and this seemed excessive. After pushing back and asking questions, it was clarified that these services are only recommended if I off-road, tow, or frequently drive on dusty roads. I do none of these, yet the services were initially presented without explanation and felt like a push for unnecessary dealer add-ons. After determining that only an oil change was actually required, I waited for it to be completed. The total wait time was 2 hours and 15 minutes--135 minutes--for a simple oil change. After an attempt to upsell unnecessary services and a wait that long for basic maintenance, I will not be returning to this dealership. Take this as a warning: proceed at your own risk.

I did get the sense that they value putting a customer into the right car and will take the time to try and do so. I saw other Yelp reviews for Flatirons Imports under its other name Flatirons Subaru, and I'm not the only person who spent a lot of time with a salesperson test driving models and did not end up buying that time around. I think for the patience of the salespeople here, they may not always make a sale that day or that time, but they are earning long term customers who will come back next time and buy. We had such a positive experience that after we drove away we decided to come back and buy the car. Then, we had some problems come up. We were having a really difficult time with getting a bank loan and these guys were so patient and extremely helpful through this process and telling us our options (but never pressuring us to do anything). We ended up getting it all sorted out and left happy with our car. Fast forward about three weeks later, the car starts acting up. It wasn't running well and left us wondering if we were sold a lemon. We decided to call these guys and tell them about the car troubles. They told us to bring the car back to them to have it worked on so we (hesitantly) did that since they initially seemed like such honest guys that it didn't make sense that they would have purposefully sold us this dud. They made it SO right. They put 110% into determining the problem and fixing everything for us. It ended up being something very complex that took a LOT of extra work..not just lifting the hood and replacing one part. This would have cost us a fortune from the dealership and we really lucked out by using their services. These guys are not in the business of screwing people over which is so refreshing in a business with such a bad reputation for doing just that.
