My family and I ordered take out from here tonight (Saturday) , if you haven't tried it you must! Premium crab cakes, lobster rolls, fresh sushi grade tuna, and local fried flounder. Calamari has TENTACLES! Was so excited to see this, as most places only do the rings. It was also delicious and fried just right, not chewy at all. Mussels with wine and garlic also great, but the Horseradish Swordfish stole the show. So fresh and tender, oh it was just so good. At the end, the owner/chef/manager (not sure exactly who) came to the table and asked how everything was, then proceeded to tell us when and where they caught the swordfish we ate. Enjoyed the raw oysters & fried oysters (they were good!). Got takeout and ate at the table out front. It was a relatively slow time of day and had at least 3-4 employees at counter (ie they were not short staffed). Very lacking in customer service and friendliness. Not just 1 employee, but several. Made us feel like we were inconveniencing them every time we interacted with them. We wanted to like them due to being close, but will travel further for a more friendly staff. read more

I wish this place was awesome as it is one of the main options for people shaking up in northern LBI. for $60 we got a bucket of fried clams; it was a pretty paltry amount, no accompanying sauces or anything to dunk those babies in. we had a craving for steamers....piss clams, softshells...the kind with the foot you dip in broth...they told us they could satiate us but the 'steamers' we got were just shriveled clams steamed in the shell. we got a 'pound' of fries; it was enough for two but not the 9 of us!! for $60 we had hoped to get a lot more. Worst Seafood Ever. I must say, I would have thought that this place was good from when I walked in, everything appeared fresh, typical seafood place... Well I was wrong! I ordered The Buffalo Mako, Cajun Swordfish, and Tuna steak seafood extravaganza, Everything was Horrible, small portions, food was not prepared with any tact, Extremely expensive for the amenitites and ambiance. My wifes meal was runny, she ordered the crab linguini and the cream sauce was not creamy at all. Pretty disappointed in an old school favorite. Told my wife we always would come here as kids and she was concerned with the poor yelp rating. I said not to worry but i was wrong. Steamers were so over cooked the shells crumbled in your hands. Who doesnt serve steamers with good bread and in their broth? Broth was on the side and clams were bone dry. This place deserves average of 3 stars on yelp. It's hit or miss place. I got soft shell crab entree and my husband got crab cakes. Soft shell crabs were good, but there were only 2 tiny crabs in a plate - for a price of over $20 it wasn't worth it for me as I basically had $20 French fries for dinner. Crab cakes were amazing though and the portion was the right size. I definitely recommend their crab cakes - they say it's 90% crab meat and 10% filling and they don't lie to you!!! French fries, cold slaw and potato salad were ok. Hit and dirty fries were a seasoned version of regular fries with enormous among of salt - it was not possible to ear them. The place was cramped for dinner. We sat outside And it was a good choice - not that busy or noisy. Our waitress was super helpful. She went over all the menu with us and answered multiple questions. She also made food suggestions that included crab cakes and she was so right about it! I would definitely go back for their crab cakes! read more

Anyone rating this less than 4 stars don't pay attention. This place doesn't show up in listing and by happenstance we walked by and found it. Full lobster and we had Alaskan crab claws. This is not a fancy restaurant so don't come here thinking any of it. They're nice and receptive and want to make you happy. They're caring and charged my phone for me. So disappointed.. this is usually our go to seafood spot on the island. Not sure if the business is struggling because of CVOID-19 or downsized portions. We usually spend over $130 every time we eat here and this time it felt like we didn't get even near our value back. For example, the seafood platter only came with two small scallops and two small shrimp with a piece of tilapia, fried calamari didn't even cover the surface of the container because there wasn't enough in it, pasta was bland etc. Overall, were extremely sad because this has been our go to for many years & have recommended it to family and friends. read more

I haven't tried this place in all the years I've been in Surf City, now I know why. The food was awful. I had lobster bisque-which was thin and tasted like brandy. My daughters had clam chowder soup and tasted like paste. The shrimp cocktail was limp and sad looking. The main dish of linguini scallops and shrimp was marginal. a long standing destination on the north end of LBI. Strengths of the place include great raw bar: the clams are terrific, shucked right in front of you. Additionally, the seafood options rotate daily--ask the staff what's looking good on whatever evening you go...this past trip (over memorial day weekend), we had #1 sushi grade tuna, fixed with a teriyaki glaze, which was AWESOME. Another great option, though pricey, are the King Crab Legs, which are a huge favorite in our house--beat lobster every time. It's a great, relaxed vibe, good for groups, with both indoor and outdoor seating. We always do take out, which is convenient. The BYOB option is nice. LBI is not known for haute cuisine, so all comments below need to be taken in this context. That said, we have loved Boulevard Clams for years. You can not go wrong with their raw bar, and if you see what's looking great off the boat, go from there. We always go back. read more

The fried whole belly clams are worth the trip to LBI. So much flavor and worth every penny. Great menu with the freshest fish. My only complaint is the Kraft tarter sauce they gave me with the clams. You can do much better than that. I don't know if you provide homemade tarter sauce to eat-in customers. If you do, please include it with takeout orders. Otherwise, exceptional seafood and a must if you are in LBI. read more

I was apparently the last customer last night at this place. I had been erading about their whole bodied clams, known as piss clams, all summer and decided to give them a shot for a takeout order to eat on the way to an evening meeting. I called ahead and the order was ready. Let's review. There were 3, that's three, whole unbroken clams in the order. The rest were little pieces. Fried shellfish are supposed to be crispy. These were in a sodden lump where the breading was fallen off and the clams were tough as leather. Even the little pieces. I didn;t pay attention but noticed after I got home that this mess cost me just under $20. Tourists may put up with this lack of care, not that they should be subjected to that, but I live here most of the year and am appalled at the reduction of restaurants that I am willing to eat at any more. This is another added to that list. Craig LaBan of the Inquirer is right on the money regarding LBI restaurants. A total redo is in order. To top it off, I went to pay for the"meal," pulled out my Discover card, and the person on the register nastily said "I told you Visa or Mastercard." He hadn't said anything and I told him so. He ran the charge and slammed and locked the door behind me as I left. What a lousy experience. If I was able to rate them with ZERO Stars, I would have done that! read more

Food was good - some nice options and good combinations. A bit pricey though... Service leaves much to be desired - ordered food, but received it incorrectly cooked. Pointed this out to no avail. Waitress never checked back for refills, etc. Manager was unapologetic. Didn't experience this, but heard a lot of "we're out of that" at nearby tables. Ambience - next to nothing. Great hot 'n' dirty crabs!!! Went here specifically for these, prices a little high due to lack of local crabs, but the ones we did get were fresh and tasty!! Boulevard Clams was a spectacular experience! My husband was born and raised in Maine. On our morning walk, he spotted the "full belly clams" advertised on the sign outside. Although it was a bit early, they let us inside and answered our questions about their menu. Well we came back for the most delicious clams, mussels and scallops we could have every imagined!
