I've been the The Fishery twice, once last summer and then again today. The purpose of today's visit was to get lunch for my step-dad and I. They had lots of fresh fish but we wanted cooked items. They have a nice menu but it was a little pricey. I ordered a shrimp and scallop platter and my step-dad got a shrimp platter. Each was $19 and came 2 side items. It's worth noting there are only 3 side items to pick from: corn on the cob, fries, and coleslaw. We both picked fries and coleslaw. With our platters in tow we walked back to our beach house. My platter had 5 shrimp and 3 scallops. They were fine, but nothing to rave about. The coleslaw was homemade and a little sweet, which is what I'm used to. The fries were just typical fries and could have used another min to get crispier. The shrimp platter had 10 shrimp. The breeding seemed to be cornmeal based. So, nice lunch but I think it was a little expensive for what we got.

    Little Necks.

The seasoned peak and eat shrimp are my favorite and I cannot come to LBI without getting.

She even surprised my husband with a selection of ice teas after asking him which kind he wanted. Smart girl! We enjoyed 2 appetizers - baked clams and artichoke stuffed with crab. Both EXCELLENTLY prepared with just the right amount of butter and garlic. I had the shrimp and crab dinner...sooooo much crab....no filler! Hubby had the seafood combo. Sides were delicious. They offer a small wine menu, but we passed. Price was moderate. We enjoyed our meal, the atmosphere and the staff. There is also a fishery market and the selections looked amazing. 45 years in business and it shows!!!!!!

But after that we waited a long time for a server to come over. The server was very nice but not attentive at all, was on her phone and talking to other staff members a lot. We ordered two apps and an entree. We got the calamari , and mussels in garlic sauce. And stuffed shrimp for an entree . The service was extremely slow and took over 45 minutes for the apps to come out ( they only had three other tables sat.) The prices were fair but definitely not worth paying $75. The mussels looked like they weren't even clean And didn't taste like much of anything ... had two and unfortunately couldn't eat the rest it was gross. The calamari wasn't bad , and the stuffed shrimp was good but there homemade onion rings were tasteless and the onions didn't taste cooked very disappointing. The inside was clean except for the million of flies flying around us which of course is super annoying anywhere you go to eat. Anyways I would not come out of my way here or recommend them.

They have indoor and outdoor seating, they are no longer a BYOB but they have a bar with great drinks! As you walk in you're in the market, but you just walk past that to get to the dining room. They have blackboard specials with all the fresh fish that was caught, plus you can see all the fish in the cases and the lobsters in the tanks. Service was friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. I really liked the New England clam chowder. It was loaded with clams and nice and creamy with a great flavor. We also had the garlic clams which were loaded in garlic butter... Again delicious! Clams casino, muscles, peel and eat shrimp, steam clams all great as well. Some fish on the menu I never heard of but were very tasty... Tile fish? Salmon was good, And I had the broiled seafood platter just to get a taste of everything. They have their original crab cake which has the seasoned bread crumbs in it which was good, but I definitely liked the jumbo lump crab cake better! Save room for desserts because the banana churro was amazing as we're all of the pies the table ordered. Definitely a must try! And definitely approved!

At lunch, my softshell crab sandwich was good. Kudos to them for having softshells during the very brief season. For the price, I wish there had been two crabs though. The one in my sandwich was very small and noticeably tough. Very tasty, though, on its toasted brioche bun. I removed one of the two fat tomato slices because i wanted to be able to taste the delicate crab, and ate the extra slice along with some of the excess lettuce as a salad. The side of cole slaw was delicious. My sister had the original crab cake sandwich which she loved, and my husband ordered a sautéed mahi sandwich with fries and a beer. He was very happy, and said that it was probably the best mahi he'd ever had. We arrived at about 2p.m. without a reservation to find the dining room packed, so we're happy to sit at a shared outdoor wooden picnic table next to the bar truck. It's that popular! Nothing fancy about this place except the prices and good quality seafood.

Eggplant tower I would order every time I come here. Light and crispy and didn't fall apart when cutting in half to share. The flame grilled sample board for 2 was the right call and price was totally fair for the portion size. Fresh chimichurri sauce and their house steak sauce went well with all 3 cuts of steak. They executed the medium rare temp like champions too. Only 4 stars because the large greenhouse window could work if it had a decent view not a side parking lot. Felt like those 1980s Wendy's with that same window thing going on. Service was solid and food came out relatively quick even with 2 large parties sitting down at a similar time as us. Def going back.

The salmon was dry and souped with orzo in sugar water that was supposed to be honey glaze. When we told waitstaff we didn't like the salmon, they were kind and took it back, but brought us the same salmon which was then overcooked. It still didn't taste great and at the end of dinner... we saw that the salmon wasn't even taken off of the bill. Not to mention one of the waitstaff had a vape in her shirt (in an inappropriate place). Overall was disappointed, especially since the prices were terribly high for the quality of food. I will say.. great music playlist and decor. I want to add that staff was kind. Just overall not best experience.
