I'm in DC for the summer and started getting into Warhammer. Reiter's is basically the only place in DC that carries Games Workshop goods (books, White Dwarf magazine, miniatures, paints, etc.). While the GW section only occupies a small corner of the stores, it is a very solid offering. I purchased a White Dwarf magazine which had a price tag of $9.00. At checkout, the total came out to $8.47 which was a pleasant surprise that I did not question. The receipt listed "Less 10.0% Discount". (EDIT) I recently learned that this is due to a promotion regarding the Warhammer community MeetUp group that meets at Reiter's about twice a month. I have since joined the group and will definitely be back to purchase some GW products as they are normally never discounted.

The selection was not too big, and primarily consisted of economics, government, or political science books. On top of this they seemed to be a bit on the dated side. The layout also made it a tad difficult to browse without feeling you're getting into somebodies personal business as the tables are right in the middle of the U of shelves, so if somebody is sitting at the tables you'll have to navigate quite close to them to see anything. They also have a passport photo section as they're right next to the passport office, which is convenient I guess. Prices seemed fair though and it was organized well. If I'm walking past I might swing on by, but given the plethora of fantastic used bookshops in dc i would rather go to, I don't see myself really going back very often

The same kind you would find on a suitcase, to pull it. When the handle got stuck in place I couldn't close the scooter, hence I couldn't ride it. I went door to door to scooter and luggage companies to try to find one that would do the repair. No one would take on the job. After 4 months of looking, I found e-mile. Who said they could do the repair. When I walked in they were very welcoming and professional. They took a look at my scooter and said they would do the job, starting with a deposit. Initially after being turned down my so many companies I was hesitant, but what could I say to the only company who said yes. So they took a deposit. 1 week later they contacted me and said it was done, fully repaired and functional. A few days later I went to the shop, which conveniently located 2 blocks from McPherson square metro, took a look at my scooter and it looked just fine. I asked if I could take it for a quick up and down the block to see how the ride felt. It was perfect. Smooth east ride, the pull handle was functional and all of it was great. With the quality of work I was expecting a hefty bill, but no. It was much cheaper cost than I expected. I was blown away with everything. All in all, what else can I say? This company is amazing. Professional, kind, willing to take on a challenge and perform at the job up at beyond expectations, and affordable. Bonus- located right next to a metro station. I would recommend e-mile to anyone.

Too bad stored blankets were unavailable for sleepers wanting more warmth than their traveling companions. We had to make a second request for one. May I also suggest providing more than one bar of mini soap bars. It's such a minuscule cost item but would obviate having to repeatedly move the precious one bar from sink to shower. We found the valet staff particularly helpful especially when navigating awkward arrivals and parking needs of our personal guests. Sean was a prince. He supervised an otherwise complicated set of logistics with competence and gentlemanly grace. Another shout out to the manager ( sou?) of the breakfast dining. We watched him rigorously oversee staff and guests while occasionally stepping in when helpful. His leadership is likely responsible for the professionalism of said staff. This is in direct contrast to the staff of the Willard across the street where we took the first breakfast of our stay. We were dismayed to have to endure extremely loud staff socializing, boisterous laughter and downright flirting. This type of behavior would have been unacceptable at the JWMarriott. This experience alone confirms our future choice of Marriott over Willard for annual DC visits.

Upon welcome we received free Trolley tickets for one day and some food credits, probably based on our Bonvoy Status (we travel all the time). The price for a room I guess because of the multiple conventions in the place was excessive. I think for a room, not a suite, it would have ben $750 per night during the week. I thought that was a lot so we used points, and the 1st night they had not held our King Room for us, and despite being our anniversary, we had to sleep in a double room and move the next day. Unfortunately, the double room was quiet, and the King Room had an adjoining door and we heard every little thing from the room next door. I would put this down one point, but the service, staffing and helpful Concierge made this place really nice for us.

If you set low expectations, then (hopefully) you will not be too disappointed. While I have not frequently used Megabus, I really appreciate that DC's Megabus stop is actually inside of Union Station. Well, it's on the uppermost level of the station, but you get what I'm saying. From my understanding, many Megabus stops typically are located in random parking lots and on sidewalks next to busy streets, so there is a little comfort knowing that you do not have to deal with this in DC. Maybe, you'll have to deal with this for your return trip. Also, since this stop is in a station, passengers will not be greatly exposed to the elements, like rain or snow. I thought Union Station had adequate signage for getting to the general bus departure area and knowing in which line to wait for the bus. If there is any confusion, this station has an attendant to ensure you wait in the correct line. Since the station has a monitored line and designated parking spaces for specific buses, the line moves in an ordered manner once the bus arrives. This is a much better option than having a massive crowd where the majority of folks are trying to get on the bus at the same time. While I do not anticipate taking Megabus on a regular basis, I think it's a great option (at least in DC) to take a last-minute trip. Something like doing DC-Philly by bus, and Philly-DC by train might be a great option if you want to save a few bucks and can book your tickets in advance.

The trip was quite reasonable: it got the job done and the comfort level was better than expected, despite a full train. Most passengers were considerate (except for one family that played a TV show loudly on a cellphone; an annoyance that reflected more poorly on them than bothered people sitting more than two rows away). I also liked it that my car at least had a faucet for dispensing drinking water, and a good supply of cups. On a long trip, staying hydrated is important. (I am not sure if all cars had water dispensers though.) My only complaint is the bathrooms -- they got increasingly dirty over the trip. Towards the last quarter of the trip, one of the bathrooms became unusable because it looked like someone peed on the floor. I don't think he (or they, if it was cumulative) did it on purpose; the toilets are very small, and on a rolling train, it's easy to miss. Fortunately they were other bathrooms that remained, not clean, but at least usable (for gents). Oh, even though the ride is called "Lakeview", you only saw a lake (Lake Erie) for about 1 minute. The rest of the trip was land on both sides, except for crossing rivers. No big deal; most of trip was night anyway.

Our flight arrived at 11 AM and shortly after landing, I received a text that my room was ready. We were able to go straight to our room upon arrival at the hotel before noon, which was amazing. The M club is open all the time. They have soft drinks, cookies and other snacks available pretty much all the time. They also had a happy hour from 4:30 to 6:30 and breakfast in the morning until 9 AM. This was wonderfully convenient and I loved that the M club was open on the weekends. The M club was filled with families on the holiday weekend. The fact that the M club is open on the weekends is one of the reasons I choose this hotel over the JW nearby. As part of your stay and their destination fee, we got a free ticket to the hop on hop off Bus plus a $15 food and beverage credit in the restaurant. We didn't use these perks, but it was nice to know that they were options. As a platinum guest, I was also able to get a late check out for our late flight today out and that was wonderful.
