My thought was to rent a scooter from here, ride all day and all night, then return it the following day on Sunday. Unfoetunately, I leaned that thry don't allow overnigjt rentals from here, and whichever scooter you rent needs to be returned to theor shop before they close- at 5pm today. I came here a little late in the afternoon so I was only rent the scooter for four hours, which Ok. I will plan better next weekend. They gave me an orange colored Oki scooter and its been pretty cjill so far. It's not lightning fast but still I have been zinging around at about 20 mph. This shop does not communicate well. When I originally brought my scooter in for a warranty repair no one ever took a diagnostic. My scooter sat for an about two weeks and nothing was fixe. My scooter sat in the shop for almost a month to come to the same problem and then when I finally got my scooter back it issues after 2 days. my scooter is still messed up and no one can tell me why it's taking this long. read more

Avoid this place at all costs!!! They overcharge, damage your property, and provide excuses instead of real solutions. Do yourself a favor and read all of the reviews, all of his responses and even his Better Business Bureau profile. Find a more reliable and professional business. I recently took my scooter to "E-MILE: The Electric Ride" for a simple tire replacement, and I was extremely disappointed with their service. What a sad and sorry company! After inspecting my scooter, they claimed there were no holes or punctures and that the "engine heat" had probably forced air out of the tire. That explanation seemed questionable, but I agreed to have them replace it with an airless tire as a permanent solution to flat tires. I then asked if they could replace the front tire as well, since it was also air-filled to mitigate any chances of the alleged same problem reoccurring. That's when the problems started. They informed me that the front tire bolts were stripped/rounded and would need to be sawed off, which made no sense given that my scooter was practically brand new. They also couldn't complete the job the same day due to this issue. Despite my concerns, they proceeded with working on the back tire, and when the scooter was picked up, they charged significantly more than their terrible service was worth. On top of that, they damaged the front wheel bolt (completely shredded the head) and placed the blame on the manufacturer for their mistake. The explanation for needing to saw off the bolt was flimsy at best, and when I questioned it on a phone call , they responded defensively. To make matters worse, they replaced one of my red reflectors with a yellow one without telling me. The overall experience felt unprofessional, from their confusing explanations to the lack of transparency. If that's not bad enough, the manager responds rudely and immaturely to nearly every negative review, proving they don't take any responsibility for their actions. I bet he will do it to this post! He takes 0 responsibility for his actions and unprofessional childish behavior. Take a look at how he responds to everyone that gives him a terrible justified review! I wouldn't be surprised if he has some snarky immature response to this review as well, just to further show how little him and his company care about their customers. read more

I needed a new front tire and replacement battery for my HiBoySR2. Communication via text was excellent. Estimated timing for repair accurate. And work performed - top notch. Location in downtown DC for a commuter was a bit of a challenge but I was able to double park out front with my hazards on for drop off and pick up. As a person who regularly rents bikes in new cities where I am visiting, I strongly suggest you use another rental business in DC. Not only was the service very dismissive and aggravating, the bike they sent me out on was in disrepair. Let's start with the tires that were solid rubber, they were not inflatable, so you can imagine the comfort level on DC roads. Both brakes were weak to the point of being a safety hazard, on top of that was the broken lock. I was told the lock was working when I rented the bike but when I got to my destination I discovered the lock was broken. So I had to return to E-Mile rather than leave the bike unlocked at a rack. Lastly, contact me directly if I can aid in legal matters or insurance matters against this company that is putting consumers at risk. By the way, my overcharge for this nightmare rental was $388.00. read more

Phenomenal service and professionalism! My rear tubeless tire on my Segway Max G2 kept leaking air. There was sealant around the rim and asked to have it replaced. They quoted two options with a tube or solid tire. Opted for the solid tire and turnaround time for completion was 72 hours from when I dropped it off. Highly recommend! read more

Took my scooter for repair and they were pretty unprofessional when I dropped it off. They told me it was not the battery and it was the motor and there was nothing they could do to fix it. I then took it to another scooter repair shop in Silver Spring who replaced the battery and now it works. read more

We made a 2 hour reservation for 3 motorized scooters. We were over a half an hour late and then I changed my mind and wanted one of the motorized bikes instead which was no problem. Of course once my son tried the bike he also changed his to a bike. My husband stayed with the scooter. We ended up keeping the bikes longer than anticipated since it did take us longer to get to our destinations than we thought. These were literally a life saver but with my medical issue I would've never made it walking from monument to monument in the heat. I will definitely be using them for our next trip to DC. read more

Wonderful experience! Loren was great. We wanted a simple solution to seeing all the monuments and sites of DC and this was the place. Rented 5 e scooters for us and our kids. They had different sizes of scooters and they fit our kids. My kids loved it. I would not see the dc monuments without renting scooters from here. They had a $10 off per scooter and no tax paid for out of state travelers, so the price was great, $45 per scooter for 3 hrs. 3 hrs was plenty of time to see everything. Great central location. I would encourage everyone to go here and rent scooters. Will go here again for sure!! read more

I don't know where to start with this place. First, I was orginally referred to this place from my local bikeshop when I was looking for a place to put my new tires on my scooter. And while I appreciate the bike shop's attempt to send me to a good place, they unfortunately didn't know any better at the time. A brief history, I am the proud owner of a Segway P65 Kickscooter that has been my main transportation for work and recreation for over a year now. I had just hit about 2K city miles on the scooter and the tire were in need of replacement, as one should expect. I purchased the same tires that my scooter was delivered with, 10.5" tubeless tires and before they were delivered, I stopped in and spoke with a very nice lady and he said that they would definitely be able to help and that following week, I dropped off the tires and then the scooter. After about 36 hours of not hearing from anyone, I texted the number that I had to original send a picture of the work order and my scooter to, asking for an update. It turns out, that is the owner's cell number. I received a message back saying the work could be done but it would take a few hours and be messy. As the tires wore, I had put slime in them to extend their life just that much more, so I could understand the work would be "messy." They suggested that I install inner tubes as that would reinforce the sidewalls of the tires. I didn't take the time to research that claim and just went with their suggestion, figuring they knew what was best. In the end, the work was done and I picked up the scooter just before they closed on August 22, 2024. As soon as I drove off, I noticed the ride felt quite a bit stiffer than previously and I attributed that to the new tires needing to be rode in a bit, so I didn't think much more of it. I returned to work that next Monday and noticed on my ride home that the ride still didn't feel right. The next day, I checked the air pressure to see if that may be a cause. I quickly discovered that the rear tire was severly over-inflated to 60psi; the tires were rated at 30-45psi by Segway. That quickly led me to the belief the same was with the front tire. It took some time to get my compressor hooked to the front tire as their tube valve stem was near impossible to connect to, but when I was able to finally, my compressor indicated it would only maintain 4-5psi, indicating serious leak or possibly a bad connection with my compressor. On my way to work that day, I stopped at my local bike shop to see if they could diagnose the issue. They connected their hand pump and got the same result, the tube was obviously damaged; mostly like cut or ruptured during or shortly after installation. They told me to return to the store, which I did. I was understandably upset, who wouldn't be after spending almost $300 on what was supposed to be a solid fix only to have it last a handful of days. This is when things took a turn. From the moment I returned my scooter to their care, to fix what I saw as their issue, I was subjected to an onslaught of demeaning and insinuating accusations of damage to my own property. They refused to return emails or text with updates and finally when I returned to the shop and I asked for an update, the tech called the owner and the degradation started out the gate. I was called a cry-baby by the owner on speaker phone for not wanting to proceed as he want to. I demanded my scooter back so I could take it elsewhere and at first they refused. The owner was in the area and he stopped by to continue his ranting and plain rude behavior He continued to disparge me for my decision and continued to tell me how I was wrong, how the tubeless tires didn't work in the first place and that I was the problem for everything. In the end, I took my scooter and left, not before being told the get the "f" out and to never "f"ing come back. He ended with a petulant comment, "Enjoy your walk!" Trust me, I will never go back. If I could give ZERO stars, I would! read more

My 64 year old aunt dropped her 2 month old electric bicycle off for a simple repair. They kept the bike for 10 weeks without repairing it. They sent her paragraph long text messages about parts that would take three months to get in. They named multiple issues and wanted to charge her well over $300 for work that was never needed in the first place. My aunt called me to let me know what was happening. I immediately went to pick up the bike and took it to another shop. The bike was ready in one day and the shop charged $125. Additionally, I would advise you to read carefully the business owners responses to the complaints about the business. That will give you all the information you need to know about bringing your business to this place. Avoid this bike shop at all cost. They were dishonest and did not fix anything. If I had the ability to give negative stars I definitely would have given -5 stars. read more

E-Mile Bike was great. I had a front tire that needed to be replaced on my son's Segway Ninebot E22. I did not make an appointment, looked them up on Yelp! and just showed up when they opened on a Sunday morning. Mike opened the store, heard our request and advised they could fix it. Mike explained it would only take a day, which he was right. The next day I got a phone call from E-Mile, to confirm the work that was needed and the cost. It was a little on the pricy side but they fixed it quick and my son's scooter was back up and running! Their prices are comparable to what it would take to fix a bike in a bike shop. Wow! The price can't be beat! AND the customer service from the initial texting to the scooter pick up was AWESOME! I have Muscular Dystrophy and walking distances is very very difficult for me. E-Mile dropped off the scooter where Uber dropped me off near the Lincoln Memorial and they picked up all the way down by the sculpture garden and we went everywhere in between. The battery life was amazing! They pick up the scooter right on the side of the road. I was told they would pick up anywhere in D.C so that was kewl in itself. It was beyond convenient! $15 an hour was all the cost was. I had the scooter for maybe close to 4 hours and they didn't even charge me for the whole time. $47! That's a steal! Absolutely fantastic company. I have to take a step back to say what happened. My scooter as a unique bonus feature on it - a dolly handle. The same kind you would find on a suitcase, to pull it. When the handle got stuck in place I couldn't close the scooter, hence I couldn't ride it. I went door to door to scooter and luggage companies to try to find one that would do the repair. No one would take on the job. After 4 months of looking, I found e-mile. Who said they could do the repair. When I walked in they were very welcoming and professional. They took a look at my scooter and said they would do the job, starting with a deposit. Initially after being turned down my so many companies I was hesitant, but what could I say to the only company who said yes. So they took a deposit. 1 week later they contacted me and said it was done, fully repaired and functional. A few days later I went to the shop, which conveniently located 2 blocks from McPherson square metro, took a look at my scooter and it looked just fine. I asked if I could take it for a quick up and down the block to see how the ride felt. It was perfect. Smooth east ride, the pull handle was functional and all of it was great. With the quality of work I was expecting a hefty bill, but no. It was much cheaper cost than I expected. I was blown away with everything. All in all, what else can I say? This company is amazing. Professional, kind, willing to take on a challenge and perform at the job up at beyond expectations, and affordable. Bonus- located right next to a metro station. I was very pleased with the unexpected support that was given when we hired two e-bikes. Our batteries were running low on charge and E-Mile was aware of this from their on-line monitoring. I took 2 hiboy scooters to them. One needed the tire's inner tube changed, the other needed the throttle to be replaced. They told me they cannot change inner tubes and that i should replace the tire with a solid one which is the ONLY one they carry and use. I reluctantly agreed. The tire they used is smaller than the original tires and the front tire. The difference in tire size has made the scooter far less stable. I took it back. They said they rebalanced and that they did not feel it shake at high speed. That is simply not true. The scooter has lost quite a bit of function. The other scooter, they said they could not turn it on and refused to do the work. I thought this was a shop where you fixed scooters. The one they fixed was returned to me in worse shape and the other one they simply did not fix. Those are the facts folks. Waist of time and money. read more

I initially thought I only needed a tire placement, but once they found out they needed to do more work, they were extremely communicative and upfront about the change in pricing. stay away from this place, dont trust them with your scooter. they buy airless tires for $29 from Amazon, and will sell it to you at $180. they're known also for taking good parts from you scooter to supply their rental scooters and replacing them with law quality ones. It happened to so many people I know. the manager lacks class, is extremely rude, dishonest and absolutely untrustworthy. I'm sure he's going to reply in a disrespectful way as he always does, which confirms how bad of a person he is for business. Get your own parts online and find other places to fix your scooter.
