Soh Basa Filet with ground pork

Best Thai food in Jacksonville! We come here all the time and love it. My favorite dish is the soh basal fish filet with ground pork - an exceptional plate of fried fish, basil and garlic, and sweet ground pork over rice. The crispy pork belly is also amazing - crunchy yet moist and not tacky. The fried rice and stir fried plates are also solid choices. My wife loves the panang! My only complaint is that they don't have khao soi on their menu! I know that's a northern Thai dish, but that would be amazing. I also found the pad siew to be overcooked, but considering how great the other dishes I have had here were I may have experienced a fluke with that one. Service is excellent: friendly, attentive, and professional. Ambiance is intimate and cozy - this is a small restaurant great for groups up to four people. Definitely must visit if you are in the area.

I've been going to Pattaya Thai since Lek and Rudy opened the original store on Atlantic Boulevard in the 1990s. Their son Russ is carrying on an outstanding tradition of authentic Thai cuisine like nothing else in Jacksonville. The Pad Thai is just one of the many delicious entrées that can't be beaten anywhere. Get your order to go or make a reservation for the limited seating. If you do dine in, you can count on a cool and friendly atmosphere with local servers that appreciate the experience as much as you do.

This restaurant has somewhat limited seating. We were told to find a table and a server will be right there. We snagged a table closer to the restroom, but it was an arm's length from the table to the left, and right of us. Basically was sitting right up next to strangers, but not a big deal. Service was slow. Took a while to get our drinks, and then have our order taken. Once they took the order the food came out within a reasonable amount of time. We ordered the seared tuna, tom yum soup, and the panang curry. All of which was a total disappointment. We've had better seared tuna, so it wasn't the worst, but we could have gone without that as an appetizer. The tom yum soup tasted off, no where near as good as other Thai restaurants in the Jacksonville area. There were also bits of ginger, and something else that should have been removed. Did not come with rice. I took some of the rice that came with my curry, and gave it to my wife. As far as my curry. It wasn't terrible, I'd say a 6/10 but they did not have an option for a combination of meats, or seafood, so I got chicken. The chicken strip was something you would expect to get from a fast food Chinese restaurant, and portion was laughable. We chatted with a couple people that said they come here sometimes weekly, and that they think the food is great. I'm sorry to say, but they are missing out on some great Thai food if this is their spot.

Always amazing! Pattaya is always so authentic and consistently delicious. It's a small inside with a few tables outside. On the weekends they are super busy but usually chill on the weekdays. Our server was wonderful. Helped us make our decisions, kept our drinks filled, and was very attentive. My favorite is the Penang Curry. I have alsonhad the Pad Seiew which is so delicious if your not in the mood for a curry. My husband ordered the Lad Na noodles which was so amazing! Such unique flavors you can't get anywhere else. Tonight we ordered the cocoanut custard for dessert. It comes out warm and in 6 small ramikins. We learned as we are them that they solidify a little more as you eat them. They were so delicious and not overly sweet. If your near King St. Check them out!!

New favourite Thai place in town!!! Family owned and ran, with true authentic roots. If interested more about the history you can read it in the menu. The food is simply delicious with great portions and it almost feels like you are eating in somebody else's home with friendly service. A wonderful culinary, un pretentious and home feeling experience. The pad Thai and their curry is simply better, and maybe cheaper, than the other Thai places in town. The only downside, is that they close several days a week lol

Pattaya Thai is my go-to place for takeout Thai food in town. But I've eaten there once or twice and it's quite small, but rustic and quaint, with good service. My regular order is usually a sweet Thai basil dish (which is essentially the same as the hot Thai basil but without the heat) or the chicken pad Thai, which is always consistently good. I also love their pot stickers, which are lightly pan fried with a nice crunch on the edges. I had their version of drunken noodles once and fair warning to anyone who's a drunken noodles enthusiast like me, it's not the typical way the dish is prepared so I don't order it from here, but everything else I've had from here is great!

The best food and amazing service. I got the crying tiger korean short ribs and i can't wait to get or again. Also tried a pineapple curry that was surprisingly delicious.

We ordered this thai food on Grubhub and I am still thinking about my green curry!! It was delicious. I've been wanting to visit this restaurant, but decided to try takeout on a busy day instead. I ordered green curry with vegetables and added tofu. I was surprised when I opened it to see not a lot of vegetables and no eggplant. I really wanted all veggies, but it was mostly all steamed tofu that soaked up the curry. It was really good, but not what I was expecting. I think it will be better to order in the restaurant next time. My boyfriend ordered the pork fried rice and it was delicious! So smoky! I was nervous about the spice level so I got medium, but it really was not spicy at all. I will order a little hotter next time. Good first impression. We are looking forward to visiting soon.

Been here at Pattaya Thai when it was covid and we did a carryout order and to be honest I was not impressed. but my friends decided to have dinner there on a thursday night and the rest was history! Everything was great! from the appetizers that we had to our main meal to desserts! for our appetizers we ordered chicken satay with their peanut sauce and it was AMAZEBALLS! Our friends ordered the cucumber salad and that was definitely refreshing! We also ordered the Spring roll. as for our dinner, I ordered the Pad thai and added chicken on it, Crab fried rice looked good and sadly i did not got the chance to try it, we also had the panang curry and the taste of it was out of this world, my favorite was the Soh Basa fish fillet, my friend ordered it and it was so good! we will definitely be back here and just FYI this place is very small and have a very few seating area.

Is this the same restaurant that used to be on Old Bay Meadows? Thank you.

Yes, their son opened this one, about the time his mom and dad retired and closed the one on OBM! SAME GREAT FOOD!

It was super crispy, but the meat was still so juicy. And the sweet and creamy sauces just finished the perfect bite. The ramens were pretty solid too. The matcha broth was super creamy and light. And the tonkotsu was so flavorful, with really tender chashu and a perfectly soft boiled egg. Plus the noodles were a really good texture. The restaurant itself is really cute too. They also have a convenience store type of ramen station in the front, which I really want to try. As well as a little arcade game that you can play in the front while you wait to be seated. However, I was really not a fan of the service. It's nothing really against the servers because they were super nice, but they just seemed so frazzled. We arrived around an hour before closing, but it took forever for us to be seated, despite seeing a few empty tables around. By the time we were seated, we were told kitchen would be closing in two minutes, so we had to hurry and put in our orders. All of that was fine and I didn't mind. But what I did mind was that our waitress checked our order twice when we first have it. And she came back to our table within the next five minutes to check our orders again for a third time to make sure she had down what we wanted. I wanted the matcha ramen and was most looking forward to having some chashu and egg. So she confirmed my order three times that I wanted matcha ramen. But when it came out, she gave me the vegetable bowl. I knew the kitchen had closed at that point, so I just ate it, but I was really disappointed. (I did get to try a bite of my friends egg and chashu, which also didn't really help because it was so good and made me wish mine came with those even more.) When we were finished eating, it took forever for the checks to come out. This I also didn't mind that much, because the servers, again, looked really frazzled trying to close up. But at this point we had waited until well after their closing time, so part of me was hoping they could just close us out first and then finish closing down the place. I think we waited at least half an hour from when we first asked for the check (at which point we had already been waiting a while) to when we finally got our cards back. I did see they charged me for the vegetable version of the matcha ramen so it was whatever, but then also I was confused - so it wasn't a mix up in the kitchen, she rang it up as the vegetable one from the beginning! Even though I never mentioned it and she never said vegetable when confirming my order. It was a dollar less to get tofu instead of an egg and chashu which doesn't seem worth it. Writing this all out, I'm sorry to rant, because the food really was good. And looking at other reviews, it looks like the service is usually pretty good. But again, it was just disappointing. That being said, I am really hoping it was a one off thing because I would go again and try some other menu items too.

He mentioned wait times for tables, so I chose a Tuesday evening to try to avoid the crowds and it worked as I was immediately sat upon arriving. There are QR Menus on the table and my server directed me to view there. I spotted the Tokyo and was intrigued by the Ajitama Brûlée (signature torched seasoned soft boiled egg). What I Ordered: - Tokyo: For $16.95, I thought this was reasonably priced and excited to try as reading reviews raved about the umami flavor of their ramen. Without exaggeration, this was a life-changing ramen. The best ramen that I've had in my life!! The torched egg was genius and added a beautiful texture to the rich, and flavorful broth. The fried chicken thigh was a delicious protein and cooked so well. Honestly, every ingredient was crafted well and combined to make such a beautiful bowl. - Lychee Martini: What better way to toast to life, then with a martini! The popping bubbles were not my thing, but the flavor of the martini was delicious. I can see why many suggest trying it. This is my 1900th review on Yelp, and I couldn't pick a better place to review and RAVE about my experience. If you are in Jacksonville, RUN don't walk to this location for a stunning experience as it's a gorgeous location that is very cozy. I initially wanted to try the soup dumplings (Xiao Long Bao), but the waitress convinced me not to as "they take too long" to prepare. Instead I went with the pork fried dumplings and the Taiwanrse sausage. The dumplings were very average: not bad flavor but they had a flavor and were uniform in a way that suggested they came right out of a bag from the freezer. There are much better and fresher dumplings to be had in Jacksonville. The sausage, however, was quite good. It was taught, porky, and had notes of five spice & maybe cinnamon. It further reinforced my view that meat always tastes best when served on a stick! It helped bring in the final score two three stars, making up for poor service and mediocre dumplings.
