Last night my husband and I decided to try the Bourbon steak house We'll to tell you the truth I would not go back because of several reasons One being it was way overpriced and the food was very bland. We ordered filet and tuna tartar, it was missing seasoning. Had to ask the waiter for salt yes. My Chicken and Donuts is good. Just the right size but the batter is a bit salty for my taste. Presentation is well done. Hamburgers are delicious. The garlic potatoes are also very good. We went for lunch TODAY. we were told they ran out of BEEF burger!!!!! Really? No beef burger at a steak house? Who is in charge of the Inventory. It's not the first time either.... One night they ran out of Macallan 12. So I simply asked if they can give us 18 with a slight discount. NO NO NO. he could t get the manager's approval. So today we had the California Chicken sandwich. Nothing spectacular. Toast was too dry. Sandwich with beer.... $30/person. Because we completely enjoyed ourselves for happy hour at Michael Mina's Bardot in Las Vegas, I would never expect conventional cooking from any of his restaurants - even if at the bar. Bourbon Steak was a notch below Bardot, but we still had a good time. Of the five dishes we tried for happy hour, the lamb ragout on toast was easily the best. The compatible flavors married beautifully together with the robust lamb, creamy sauce, and char from the bread balancing each other. Also worth ordering were the potato skins. Yeah, it's a bowling alley dish, but the devil is in the details. Although not listed on the menu as an ingredient, I think they used ricotta cheese in the potato filling because there was a milky lightness. The sharp cheddar added punch, the bacon jam added saltiness, and the skins added a light (not greasy) and clean (not earthy tasting like dirt) crunch. The ahi tuna poppers were hit and miss. The raw tuna was clearly freshly prepared and the balance of ingredients in the tartare mixture was appropriate, but the little round bread cut-outs lacked inspiration and didn't add enough contrasting texture. The duck spring rolls were fried and shaped like an egg roll. I guess "egg roll with duck" doesn't have same menu wording appeal as "duck spring rolls". The rolls were wrapped in unintentionally semi-wilted lettuce. I also couldn't tell that it was duck meat. Overall, the rolls were a basic dish. The very ordinary short rib empanadas should be skipped. The garnish, a pickled papaya slaw, was better than the deep fried empanada. Happy hour drinks were solidly made and the daily wines by the glass were good matches with the food like a sparkling wine that would have gone great with oysters or a rioja that was ideal with the lamb ragout. Although called Bourbon Steak, the Bourbon selection was great for those who like Pig Whistle, but not deep for other distilleries. The restaurant is located on the northwest corner of Brand and Colorado next to Din Tai Fung. It is not "in" the Americana Mall with the retail stores. Valet parking is free with 3 hours validation. The valet stand is on southbound Brand Blvd just north of Colorado. The valet asks for your cell phone number and then sends a text message with a code. Give the code to the hostess at the restaurant and she'll electronically validate on an iPad. Pickup your car using the same code. Yeah, this is a case where technology made things more complicated and take longer. If you didn't bring a cell phone or your phone battery died, well, I guess you just lost your car. read more

My fiancé and I came here for our anniversary. The sides we had were awesome. I recommend their crispy Brussels sprouts. However, we did have a slight issue with our steaks. Yesterday was my son's birthday and we ordered food at this restaurant. Every entry is from $50-80 and they literally provide you with a piece of black meat. Period. Not even a few vegetables to make it look presentable. I know I can order a side dish. But I believe that if I am paying $80 for a plate, it should look appealing. I can't say enough great things about this place. The staff and food is superb. Our server Miguel as well as their front desk made our anniversary dinner spectacular. I informed Front desk over the phone that our reservation had been mistakenly put in at another restaurant. He accommodated us promptly and once we arrived they greeted us with champagne as they prepared our table. Everything we ordered was delicious the Australian wagyu with Brussels sprouts and black truffle Mac and cheese was what we ordered and the tuna tartar was also very good. My wife and I came here before about 6-months ago and had a positive experience and decided to come back to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately this time was a very bad experience and we will never be back again. Here's a list of what went wrong: 1. RECEPTION: We had a reservation and arrived early. We were told it would be a few minutes to get seated and waited in the very small cramped lobby. It ended up taking 30 minutes for us to get seated well past our reservation time. The annoying thing is that everytime we check back about when we would get seated, the receptionist would always say: it will be a few minutes and we're getting a table ready. Other people seemed to be having the same issue and were getting upset. Right before we got seated, what appears to be a manager, noticed we were upset and asked about our long wait then we got finally seated shortly after that. 2. DRINKS: My wife and I wanted to order cocktails after being seated but the waiter was MIA for a long time. The same manager as the reception noticed this and came to take our drink order herself at which point the waiter quickly came by to take our order. My wife got her drink right away while mine came about 30 minutes later well after we had ordered all our food and recieved the first appetizer. During this wait the waiter came by and apologized four times, each time indicating that the bar tender was diligently working on it and that it would be a few minutes. In the meantime, the waiter asked my wife if she liked her drink after taking the first sip and when she indicated that it was than what she expected, he graciously offered to exchange it for another drink. We thought this was a very nice gesture, but when we got the check at the end of the night, we got charged for both drinks even though my wife didn't drink the first one so that was a nasty surprise. 3. FOOD: We ordered steak and lamb chops cooked medium well and medium. The food had good flavor but arrived undercooked as medium rare and rare. We were disappointed but didn't bother to complain about it. 4. DESERT: We ordered coffee and tea after dinner which took about 20 minutes to get served to us. The drinks came out without spoons so we had to wait and ask the waiter for that. 5. CHECK: After we finished everything the waiter was MIA again for 15 minutes. At this point we were very annoyed and wanted to leave especially since it was getting late and we had been there for about 3 hours due to all the delays. Finally we got the check and despite the issues with the reception and the drinks, the only extra thing we got on the check was the charge for the cocktail that my wife didn't drink because the waiter offered to replace it. We didn't complain, just paid and left. But will definitely never come back again. Overall this was a very disappointing celebration. Our experience may have been an anomaly compared to others but for us it was bad enough that we will never give it another try. read more

I had been craving a good burger like two weeks. Unfortunately, my fave burger place around my neighborhood (The Morrison) is shuttered due to COVID. I've been to Bourbon Steak before. Delicious steaks and sophisticated whiskey menu. Would give five stars for that visit. How surprised I was found it open for delivery. Looking at the menu - burger costs $18, kinda steep. But hey, it's end times..so I decided to go for it. The burgers (I'm no mook, I ordered 3 - two smoky bacon and one Cali) arrived and were still hot. I dug in and felt like I was in heaven. It was perfect. Great flavor, juicy, thick patty and made mid-rare to perfection. Typically, I stay away from getting burgers delivered because they lose some of their luster during the time for delivery. Not the case here AT ALL. As mentioned, it was still hot and fresh, as if it had just arrived directly from the kitchen. I'm not a big french fry fan, but these fries were tasty, I finished them too! Every once in a while I have a dining experience that is so unbelievably amazing or just a total maddening disaster. I think to myself, I have to start a yelp account and write a review. Too busy, too tired, or maybe too lazy? I never get to it...but not this time! We had a girl's night out (party of 7) and we were all feeling very steak-y and decided to give Bourbon Steak a try. Firstly and most importantly, the food! Every single item we tried was balls out delicious. I don't know what's in their dinner roll, but I could have eaten like 5 of them. My favorite appetizers were Michael's tuna tartare, the Hamachi and tuna poppers, and the heirloom beets. All super fresh, amazing! For my main, I had the Filet Mignon. I like my steak well done (I see pink, and I want to barf), I always ask for well done and I always end up with medium-well. Not here, they gave me what I wanted and I have to say, it was the juiciest, most flavorful filet I ever had. We tried a bunch of sides, all were delicious but the stand out for me was the jalapeno creamed corn. I was too full to really do dessert but a little nibble from the amazing candy cart satisfied my chocoholic ways of ending every meal. The service was impeccable, our waiter was awesome and the sommelier was very informative. Water was always refreshed, the table was scraped clean in between courses but the staff was not in your face. The wine the sommelier recommended was a perfect paring to my steak. I don't drink bourbon, but a few friends tried a flight from the bourbon cart and were basically freaking out. I'm kind of late on my review, I came there with my girlfriend and we weren't like other guests we were in regular clothes, but I must say the steak was fantastic I was greeted by a manager which was nice at my table, I don't drink alcohol neither does my girlfriend so we got the 2 amazing steaks and a duck fried French fries, ill be returning soon but a like I said a little bit of time has passed hopefully I'll have the same waiter as last time and hopefully he remembers the tip I left :) Great service deserves a great tip great food also read more

Elegant. Came in for brunch. The kale Waldorf salad and the namesake omelette were terrific. But what I loved most was the interior design. Perfect place for a romantic date or a business lunch. Great service and amazing food. My bf and I came in at happy hour and indeed we were happy. Appetizer prices are half off, drinks are $8, and burgers are $13. Appetizer: you HAVE to try the baked potato skins. Omggg I will go back JUST to have like 10 orders of their potato skins. Their Caesar salad is really good. Mac and cheese is awesome. The chicken wings were sooo good AND I hate chicken wings. I ate a whole chicken wing just because of the sauce that was on it. Entree: we ordered the bourbon burger. I'm not sure if that's the name but it's the one with bacon. It was really really good. I asked for truffle aioli on the side which made it even more good. Drinks: order the lucky Lindy for sure!! Such an amazing restaurant with amazing staff. The ambience here is beautiful and romantic. Our host was very friendly and helpful while seating us. Our waiter was amazing. Hayden helped explain everything on the menu and made us feel so welcome. He went above and beyond for us. Complimentary fries with a trio of sauces and bread with delicious garlic butter. Our first and main course was so good too. The best meal we've have had in a long time. We ordered the Hamachi rolls (so delicious, Asian yellow tail wrapped around crunchy onions with ponzu), New York steak, and truffle Mac and cheese (both incredible, steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly, the truffle Mac and cheese was rich and creamy, SO delicious!). This is the best steakhouse in almost all aspects. The bread, ribeye, dessert were delicious. I personally love steak with more fat and the ribeye has the perfect balance of tenderness, flavor, and fat. I've been to other reputable steakhouses...Boa, Mastros, Mortons, Flemming's, etc but this restaurant really sets itself apart from the others. They pay attention to details from the hand written anniversary card signed by the whole staff to the complimentary fries to the pianist. Multiple people came by to check on us, which was very accommodating. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive. The prices are average for a steakhouse. We picked up Easter dinner here and it was fantastic! We can't wait to go out to dinner here once the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, but in the meantime we will definitely be ordering takeout again! Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the roasted potatoes were amazing and very crispy, which was impressive since the food sat for a bit on our way home. We came for Valentines- @$95 PP- 3 course. Attractive venue, attentive & polished service. I ordered the 16 oz rib i -@$8 add'l. It was perfect. However, not liking blue cheese mashed potatoes, chef agreed to regular mashed and I got a small 'mini' scoop- plus, no veggies at all! My wife had the filet M and it was nice but dry with '2' little leaves from a Brussel sprout on her little scoop of rice! We were there early so no chance they ran out of veggies. My wife's beet salad was good. My Caesar was just ok as the dressing had little taste--even 'Bernstein's' dressing is better. Also, it was short on romaine hearts - a big part of a good Caesar. Why some kitchens want to use to much of the upper romaine in a premier restaurant is a puzzle. Part of their kitchen is not quite there yet. When I spend nearly $300 for 2 (and no wine), I have high expectations and wish reasonable portions. read more

Came here for a random dinner a few months back because I was craving steak and some good tasting bourbon whiskey. Boy, was I surprised!! The servers are so attentive and personable. The one we had in particular had extensive knowledge on her whiskey AND wine which was a plus. The interior is super cute, dim (but not TOO dim) lighting, nice upstate vintage new york style seating and decor. My friend and I decided to share the dry aged porterhouse... it was delicious. Cooked and seasoned perfectly and it had that nice, nutty, kind of cheesy taste I expect to find in a dry aged steak. We also got a half dozen of their west coast oysters. Super tender and surprisingly sweet. I would go back just for these LOL. Their sides are amazing! We got the smashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and their sautéed Brussel sprouts. COMES WITH A FREE TRIO OF DUCK FAT FRIES. YAS. WIN. Highly recommended if you want to try a different kind of steakhouse aside from the typical ones like Lawrys/Ruth Chris/Mastros. Had a great time with my girlfriend here. We came to try the happy hour before we went to a movie. I'll have to say it's up there with the best happy hours I've been to. Couldn't believe how cheap it was. The variety was abundant, along with the taste exceeded my expectations. Just have to say they probably would get a higher rating if it wasn't for WAITING OVER 2 HOURS FOR OUR FOOD. First of all, I'm a pescatarian so I didn't try the steak. My friend ordered the wagyu beef which is priced per ounce (crazy expensive). They offered fries with different dipping sauces which was nice to start with. It took awhile for our waitress to check back to us, we needed more drinks since our main dishes did not arrive for hours later. We tried the mac n cheese and I've had better elsewhere. My friend returned it a few times to try to get that baked top but the type of cheese they use, it didn't work. He definitely did not enjoy the dish. The longer I waited the higher my expectations were of my main dish. Well, my fish was cold and was not flavorful. I could have gone to another restaurant and pay a fraction of the price for better food. My friend did love the wagyu beef. He say it melted in your mouth like butter!!! The one good thing at the table that was ordered. It was an experience and at least I didn't have to pay the bill. read more

Been wanting to write this review for a while. So my first experience was about a year ago. I live in NY and visit LA quite often. My Friend and i decided to give this place a try. The service was good but the food was awful to say the least. Against my better judgment we tried a new steak recommended by our waiter. Appetizers were not on point. The steaks were so horrible that i had to contact(and i never do) the corporate office to complain. Anyways 3 months ago i decided to give this place another shot and again , most horrible food was served. Great location , fantastic service, beautiful ambiance , HORRIBLE FOOD.
