It has been a while since I've been to Casa Córdoba. I let Morgan pick my meal. She chose the perfect meal - Bocadillo de Jamón y Queso, Ensalada de Remolacha and Red Sangria. The meal was exquisite. One fit for a king. I offer Five-Star compliments to the Chef through my Five-Star Server/Bartender Morgan. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
After living in the area for over 30 years, finally stopped in for a date night and had an amazing time! We sat outside in the courtyard, and it felt like we were transported out of Montrose and into Spain. There was Liv music playing, a fountain gurgling, and soft chatter among the other diners. Our waiter was incredibly kind, promptly refilling our water, and offering great recommendations. Tapas wise, we ordered the patatas bravas, pulpo tapa, pork belly tapa, and croquetta. We also ordered the paella for two with mussels, shrimp, and squid. Everything was excellent and the presentation was beautiful. Favorite tapa was the pork belly by FAR - loved the crispness of the pork belly along with the fried goat cheese and fig jam. Will definitely be returning!
Cute Spanish restaurant in the city of Montrose with warm welcoming atmosphere and friendly service. The staff was friendly and attentive. Th dish was fresh, bold and flavorful. I love tapas - it is like unwrapping a gift. My favorite no doubt is the chicken paella. Second is branzino fillet. Both tasty and bold flavor. Surprisingly the bread made the best impression with soft bread and toasty crust. It goes really well with the meatball and tomato sauce. Maybe i was really hungry and that is the first couple dishes that came. Ambience here is charming and relaxing, making it a great spot for both a casual meal or special occasion. When making a reservation, you have a choice of sitting in the patio or indoor. I sat indoor this time cause of the chilly weather at night but patio is so pretty and charming. Iive music too. I highly recommend sitting outside. Not much parking choices around there. City parking lot is pretty small or full. We end up parking on the street three blocks away. Easy walk. People out walking dogs in the neighborhood so pretty fun.
Located in the heart of the Honolulu Avenue shopping district, Casa Cordoba provides a glimpse of Iberian dining modified for American tastes. We shared the mariscos of shrimp and clans in a savory sauce that worked well with the grilled focaccia. The seafood was fresh and tasty with about 6 good size shrimps. The best place to sit is on the front patio where all the action is. There is a back patio that features live music at times. There is nothing terribly evocative about the décor, however. Finally, the service was efficient, with plenty of servers to go around. Having just returned from a trip to Spain, there was real sticker shock since we were used to 3€ wine and 2.00 pintxas. The prices did seem a bit high even by American standards with some items over $70. Nevertheless, this was good American style Spanish food and a nice place to eat.
After not seeing each other for weeks upon weeks due to conflicts and being out of town, we decided a date night was needed. We had been to this small quaint and beautiful little restaurant in Montrose before and wanted to try it again. We loved their little Spanish style courtyard, the tapas, paellas, and the setting felt so good for little date night after being away for so long. Unfortunately things did not go as planned. We made reservations for 7:15pm and were hardly even greeted by the hostess that seemed she'd rather be elsewhere then to welcome us to Casa Cordoba. Problem was though even after setting the reservation time and arriving exactly at 7:15pm we weren't seated for 15min even though we saw our table being cleaned and set and just sit there unoccupied for over 15min. So we waited. When we finally sat down...our server didn't come by for another 10-15min. But we were patient and we waited. Alvin finally came -- brought us water and opened the wine we brought. A special one for this type of occasion (corkage fee was $30). We ordered the paella with squid ink and seafood since it takes up to 45min to prepare and sat down to enjoy the wine and take in the setting. That night they had live music -- a guy on an acoustic guitar playing some cool songs, from Maroon 5 to Backstreet Boys on a 12 string...at least it was live. It was pleasant. The server didn't attend to us much and just had an air about him. Idk -- they may have been super busy but wasn't sure. Finally the paella came. It was...good. Not plentifully. 7-8mussels, a quarter of an octopus tentacles, and a couple of calamari. If you're thinking that much it and rice then you're right. It was mainly rice. No vegetables accompanying it but that's the dish. That was $57 for the small version. I've made paella before. It takes time and it's a production -- but at least at home I can make one for half that price for 8 people. Maybe that's why we don't go out so often bc it ends sometimes like this. We expect a nice meal, a welcoming host or hostess, a server who enjoys the food and atmosphere and makes us feel at home, and food that we could never prepare at home. It's suppose to be an experience that you are happy to pay for. This wasn't. We were disappointed and just felt like wanting to leave. The last straw was when I signed the check on a toast machine and asked for the printed copy. The server, Alvin just left the toast machine with us and left -- attending to others and leaving us with this machine. All I wanted at the end was a thank you for dining with us and the printed copy. We had to flag another server for that copy. He eventually came, with disdain written all over and just handed me the copy, as if I had taken his time to get my the receipt which I asked. That pretty much did it. I asked to speak with the manager and was told--"oh sure. I can get him--he's the chef, give me a minute." I was floored!! No wonder!!! The chef. The back of house manager is also the front of house manager!! That says a lot. You're front of house and your guests are not being taken care of? What kind of restaurant is this? With these prices? Regardless that was it. We left -- had some great ice cream and spoke about the whole experience all the way back home. Great date night eh? Not returning.
You must try this restaurant. Champinones y Trufa - Our favorite dish! Incredible seasoning and flavor. Crudo de Salmon - Excellent marinade, accompanied by a tangy spread and an aromatic herbs and spices. Pan con Tomate - Delicious, fluffy focaccia topped with a savory, garlicky tomato topping. Alcachofas Fritas - Lovely crisp artichoke hearts with a tangy sauce. Flan De La Casa - Better than any flan you've ever had! We almost ordered a second. It is incredibly rich and flavorful, especially with the pear and almond topping. Sangria (Red) - A nice sweetness and fruity taste. Watermelon Margarita - Very sweet and enjoyable. Cucumber Mint Cooler (Mocktail) - Not very sweet, and refreshing. Gorgeous interior and lovely, shaded patio dining. Service was excellent.
Richard was such a great server! He was super friendly, gave us great recommendations, and kept us laughing throughout the meal. The vibe inside was Spain-like, which made the whole experience enjoyable. We ordered: - Croquetas de Jamón y Pollo - so delicious, definitely a great starter - Pintxo de Vientre de Cerdo - wasn't sure what to expect, but all the flavors worked really well together - Pulpo de la Casa - the layered potatoes were sooo good, and the octopus was tender - Pesto Pasta - kind of like a macaroni-style pesto pasta, which was interesting but actually pretty tasty Everything was flavorful and we really enjoyed the experience overall. It is on the pricier side, but the service, ambiance, and quality made it feel worth it. Would definitely come back!
YaYY! DineLA week is on and I was able to visit Casa Cordoba which has been on my bucket list since last year. It is nestled in the middle of Montrose between Glendale and La Canada surrounding areas, all you see is views of green mountains, tranquility and most importantly, safe neighborhood. Public parking was available within walking distance of the restaurant. I came in with a reservation and was seated right away. I was seated on the outside patio facing the entrance. My waiter was very pleasant and assisted me right away. For the DineLA promo, they offer a pre-fixed tasting menu that includes their popular tapas. You get to pick four from the list and it also includes dessert at the end, churros and chocolate dip. For my 4 tapas: "Patatas Bravas" 4/5 hearty, rich sauce on top of cubed potatoes. "Croquetas de jamon y pollo" 5/5 "Pinxto de vientre de Cerdo" 5/5 my favorite! (Crispy pork belly, fried goat cheese and fig jam atop grilled focaccia" I had to order a separate round of this tapas dish which came with two more. And "Berenjena Frita" 5/5 (fried eggplant with honey drizzled on top) The churros and chocolate dip: 3/5 I was not the biggest fan of the chocolate dip it was giving very much "Abuelita's chocolate bar" flavor which was to my assumption melted and poured onto the dish for dipping. Spirits review: first drink i picked out was their "oaxacan old fashion" which was bomb.com 5/5 Then I tried their red sangria highly suggested by my waiter 5/5 I loved it so much that I asked for another glass. Overall, the experience was admirable and cozy. I was very full afterwards but my belly was happy. I loved the outdoor patio setting which is perfect for a solo date or special occasion. I plan to come back soon to try more of the pork belly with fried goat cheese ball on top! Yum!
This was my second visit, but this time with friends. The atmosphere and vibe -great! The food delicious! The tapas that we ordered were all very good. If you start off with their house bread and butter that might get you full. I really came for cocktails and had bite of the croquettes, pork belly with jam and goat cheese, beet kale salad and fried artichokes. Our friend ordered for us so apologies if I don't mention the exact names that are on the menu. You will not be disappointed with the food- will everything be your favorite? Maybe not but you will definitely enjoy several things on the menu here. Patio dining on a nice evening is the best here. The service started off great but slowly dwindle down where we may have been forgotten. There was three of us and only two of the cocktails showed up. If we had not said anything, we probably would not have had the other two cocktails. I would definitely come back for the food and the vibes!
Last Saturday, we celebrated a family member's birthday at this restaurant. Just want to say right off the bat that this place really hit it out of the ball park in almost all aspects of the dining experience. First off, it's a beautiful restaurant with Spanish touches throughout. There is seating inside and outside the restaurant in the courtyard. In the courtyard, there was a musician playing the guitar. Loved, LOVED his rendition of Hotel California. Really put me in a relaxing mood. The food here is unbelievably good with a few minor exceptions. Here is a run down of everything we had: -Patatas Bravas 5/5 stars. The roasted potatoes were delicious and the creamy sauce drizzled on top made it that much better. -Croquetas de Jamon y Pollo 4/5 stars. I remember it being tasty, but it wasn't as memorable as some of the other things I tried. -Gambas al Ajillo 5/5 stars. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and flavored. Even the bread, which tasted like sourdough, was fantastic. -Calamares Fritos 10/5 stars. No, that is not a typo. I usually avoid calamari like the plague since I'm not a fan of the taste. Here, however, I couldn't stop eating the calamari. I was popping them in my mouth like popcorn. There was something about the batter they used to coat the calamari. It had a satisfying crunch to it. Didn't even need the sauce it came with. -Prime Ribeye (prepared medium rare) 3/5 stars. The steak was okay. It was a bit undercooked and didn't have a nice crust on it. -Papitas Fritas: 10/5 stars. Once again, not a typo. The fries here were something special, which is saying a lot since fries are ubiquitous. The fries were delicately crispy and delicious. -Jamon Iberico Cebi de Campo with Manchego Cheese 4/5 stars. The Jamon Iberico was good, but not great. It had a slightly weird after taste that I usually don't get from high quality Jamon Iberico. -Tarta De Queso and Churros con Chocolate 3/5 stars. These were the only two items that I was truly disappointed with. There was nothing special about these dessert items. The churros were bland. -Cucumber Mint Cooler and Devil's Day Off 5/5 stars. Both of these drinks were refreshing. The Cucumber Mint Cooler, in case you're wondering, could best be described as a well executed, non-alcoholic cucumber mojito. The Devil's Day Off was a fizzy grapefruit and cinnamon delight. I have to end this review with the service. It was top notch. Our server, Robert, was not only extremely friendly, but helpful and informative. He walked us through the menu and talked us out of ordering certain items so that we wouldn't over order food or get items too similar to one another. At one point, we were debating whether to order the Churrasco a la Plancha (8 oz ribeye) or 12 oz ribeye. One person from our family wanted the fritas that only came with the Churrasco while another person (me) wanted the 12 oz ribeye. Robert resolved the disagreement by suggesting that we just order the 12 oz ribeye and they'll throw in the fritas for free (which they did). At the end of the meal, he made sure to point out that the gratuity had already been added to the bill and that there was no need to add a tip. We appreciated the heads up, otherwise we may not have noticed that. If it's not clear from my write up, I really enjoyed this place, despite a few items that missed the mark. If it wasn't so far away from where I live, I would have been back this weekend to try out more items from the menu.
The plus side of going out with a group of people for dinner is your ablity to sample a variety of foods. That's what happened when we went to Casa Cordoba. My take on the food is in the photos. Service was great. We got seated quickly and helps with a reservation. Our server gave us ample time to look at the menu before ordering. Food came out at reasonable amount of time. Ambience was great. They have outdoor seating and the restaurant felt very cozy.
Stopped by with some friends on a Sunday afternoon and had a lovely time! There was no line but took a bit to get seated as there was no host at the front - we just wandered in ourselves and flagged someone down. We did love the ambiance especially on the outdoor patio - it felt like we were immediately transported to Spain! Service was attentive. - Patatas bravas - potatoes with garlic and salsa brava, was quite a filling portion size and very saucy - Pintxo de vientre de cerdo - crispy pork belly with fried goat cheese, focaccia and fig jam. The dish comes with 2 servings by default but we were able to request 3. The flavors really came together for this one - Pulp de la casa - octopus with potato, topped with tomato salsa - a super yummy combination and the octopus was well cooked. - Casa Cordoba paella - paella with chicken, duck, and pork chorizo. Just as a heads up the paella takes around 45 minutes to prepare. The paella was good but pretty standard, and the chicken was a little on the drier side - Churros con chocolate - a perfect sweet ending to our meal. The chocolate sauce was not too sweet and paired perfectly with the churros Overall a charming spot for a relaxed meal with great ambiance!
A Spanish-inspired restaurant tucked away in Montrose with a lovely outdoor patio. The service was friendly and fun, which made the experience even better. We ordered the patatas bravas, pan con tomate, croquetas de jamón y pollo, albóndigas, pintxo de vientre de cerdo, and the marinera paella. The fig jam and goat cheese combo on the pintxo de vientre de cerdo was a standout--absolutely loved it. The paella was good overall, though a bit on the salty side. Overall, everything was delicious, and it's a great hidden gem in Montrose.
100 out of 10, can recommend! Dine LA brought us in the door. The impeccable vibes of the (deceptively large!) restaurant, chill live music performance on the patio, the varied regular menu, plus our server and Chef Erik convinced us to try more. I've got no regrets. It's easy to have a great time here if you bring good company, and to have a great meal. Located in a nice part of town, as well, if you want to take a post-meal stroll. Dine LA was a promotion that ran from 08/14 to 08/28 and it was $45 per person, not including tax or tip and each person selected four items from a pre-determined menu. We had: - Patatas Bravas (diced roasted potatoes drizzled with garlic and red pepper aioli) - Albondigas (moroccan spiced beef and pork chorizo meatballs in tomato sauce topped with manchego cheese) - Berenjana Frita (breaded eggplant topped with honey) - Croquetas de Jamon y Pollo (creamy croquettes of chicken and serrano ham) - Champiñones y Trufas (sauteed mushrooms, truffle oil, garlic, cream sherry, bread crumbs and chives) - Gambas al Ajillo (white shrimp cooked in mojo de ajo, butter, grilled bread) - Churros con Chocolate (churros with chocolate dipping sauce) I closed my eyes in delight and felt like weeping during several 'first bites' of these dishes. Is this really how Spaniards dine? I'd order everything again and then some. The eggplant, mushrooms, and potatoes were a standout. Everything is so balanced with sweet and savory in each bite, though. Those are smaller items part of the special offerings, and you can order off the regular menu, so we had: - Pulpo Casa Córdoba from the tapas del mar menu (tender sherry-braised spanish octopus served atop potato pavé with smoked paprika aioli, olive oil and sea salt - Pintxo de Vientre de Cerdo (sherry-glazed crispy pork belly pintxo, fried goat cheese, fig jam atop grilled focaccia - Flan de la casa (creamy flan served with thyme macerated pears, marcona almonds and cinnamon tuile) - Tarta de queso (Basque-style cheesecake, house strawberry jam, orange sumpreme) The pulpo was the star, and thankfully my friends told me about the documentary My Octopus Teacher after the meal. I may not eat pulpo for a very long time- if ever again. For postres, their cheesecake was a no-bake cheesecake. It was ungodly good, as was the flan. Our total bill was well over $45 per person, expect to pay more like $80-$100 per person, easily if you're dining out and ENJOYING yourself and/or having a cocktail, as well. read more
It's rare for Me to take such issue with a restaurant but I was pretty disappointed with there quality of food here. We ordered some eggplant drizzled with honey, and it was pretty lack luster, in that there didn't seem to be any seasoning in it whatsoever. The Paella we ordered was also pretty flavorless, in that the rice was oily and overcooked and somehow the duck was dry, though there wasn't enough of it to really lodge a big complaint about it. For how much the dishes cost here, my expectations are are elevated, and they really fell flat. My girlfriends birthday was today, and they gave us some rather poor quality ice cream to finish the meal with, that was very likely blue bunny. I'm very bummed that I don't find myself coming back here again. The price just isn't justified here to Me. To top it off, neither or our drinks were good either. Overall just a terrible experience. This was my second visit, but this time with friends. The atmosphere and vibe -great! The food delicious! The tapas that we ordered were all very good. If you start off with their house bread and butter that might get you full. I really came for cocktails and had bite of the croquettes, pork belly with jam and goat cheese, beet kale salad and fried artichokes. Our friend ordered for us so apologies if I don't mention the exact names that are on the menu. You will not be disappointed with the food- will everything be your favorite? Maybe not but you will definitely enjoy several things on the menu here. Patio dining on a nice evening is the best here. The service started off great but slowly dwindle down where we may have been forgotten. There was three of us and only two of the cocktails showed up. If we had not said anything, we probably would not have had the other two cocktails. I would definitely come back for the food and the vibes! read more
Last Saturday, we celebrated a family member's birthday at this restaurant. Just want to say right off the bat that this place really hit it out of the ball park in almost all aspects of the dining experience. First off, it's a beautiful restaurant with Spanish touches throughout. There is seating inside and outside the restaurant in the courtyard. In the courtyard, there was a musician playing the guitar. Loved, LOVED his rendition of Hotel California. Really put me in a relaxing mood. The food here is unbelievably good with a few minor exceptions. Here is a run down of everything we had: -Patatas Bravas 5/5 stars. The roasted potatoes were delicious and the creamy sauce drizzled on top made it that much better. -Croquetas de Jamon y Pollo 4/5 stars. I remember it being tasty, but it wasn't as memorable as some of the other things I tried. -Gambas al Ajillo 5/5 stars. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and flavored. Even the bread, which tasted like sourdough, was fantastic. -Calamares Fritos 10/5 stars. No, that is not a typo. I usually avoid calamari like the plague since I'm not a fan of the taste. Here, however, I couldn't stop eating the calamari. I was popping them in my mouth like popcorn. There was something about the batter they used to coat the calamari. It had a satisfying crunch to it. Didn't even need the sauce it came with. -Prime Ribeye (prepared medium rare) 3/5 stars. The steak was okay. It was a bit undercooked and didn't have a nice crust on it. -Papitas Fritas: 10/5 stars. Once again, not a typo. The fries here were something special, which is saying a lot since fries are ubiquitous. The fries were delicately crispy and delicious. -Jamon Iberico Cebi de Campo with Manchego Cheese 4/5 stars. The Jamon Iberico was good, but not great. It had a slightly weird after taste that I usually don't get from high quality Jamon Iberico. -Tarta De Queso and Churros con Chocolate 3/5 stars. These were the only two items that I was truly disappointed with. There was nothing special about these dessert items. The churros were bland. -Cucumber Mint Cooler and Devil's Day Off 5/5 stars. Both of these drinks were refreshing. The Cucumber Mint Cooler, in case you're wondering, could best be described as a well executed, non-alcoholic cucumber mojito. The Devil's Day Off was a fizzy grapefruit and cinnamon delight. I have to end this review with the service. It was top notch. Our server, Robert, was not only extremely friendly, but helpful and informative. He walked us through the menu and talked us out of ordering certain items so that we wouldn't over order food or get items too similar to one another. At one point, we were debating whether to order the Churrasco a la Plancha (8 oz ribeye) or 12 oz ribeye. One person from our family wanted the fritas that only came with the Churrasco while another person (me) wanted the 12 oz ribeye. Robert resolved the disagreement by suggesting that we just order the 12 oz ribeye and they'll throw in the fritas for free (which they did). At the end of the meal, he made sure to point out that the gratuity had already been added to the bill and that there was no need to add a tip. We appreciated the heads up, otherwise we may not have noticed that. If it's not clear from my write up, I really enjoyed this place, despite a few items that missed the mark. If it wasn't so far away from where I live, I would have been back this weekend to try out more items from the menu. read more

Stopped by with some friends on a Sunday afternoon and had a lovely time! There was no line but took a bit to get seated as there was no host at the front - we just wandered in ourselves and flagged someone down. We did love the ambiance especially on the outdoor patio - it felt like we were immediately transported to Spain! Service was attentive. - Patatas bravas - potatoes with garlic and salsa brava, was quite a filling portion size and very saucy - Pintxo de vientre de cerdo - crispy pork belly with fried goat cheese, focaccia and fig jam. The dish comes with 2 servings by default but we were able to request 3. The flavors really came together for this one - Pulp de la casa - octopus with potato, topped with tomato salsa - a super yummy combination and the octopus was well cooked. - Casa Cordoba paella - paella with chicken, duck, and pork chorizo. Just as a heads up the paella takes around 45 minutes to prepare. The paella was good but pretty standard, and the chicken was a little on the drier side - Churros con chocolate - a perfect sweet ending to our meal. A Spanish-inspired restaurant tucked away in Montrose with a lovely outdoor patio. The service was friendly and fun, which made the experience even better. We ordered the patatas bravas, pan con tomate, croquetas de jamón y pollo, albóndigas, pintxo de vientre de cerdo, and the marinera paella. The fig jam and goat cheese combo on the pintxo de vientre de cerdo was a standout--absolutely loved it. The paella was good overall, though a bit on the salty side. Okayish Spanish restaurant in the Montrose area. I visited this restaurant for lunch on a Saturday. Walking-in, I loved the vibe of the restaurant. They have outdoor and indoor seating and it was decorated and designed with Spanish-style decor which made me feel like I was actually dining in Spain. Firstly for the tapa appetizer, my friend and I ordered the Patatas Bravas. These were pretty solid. The roasted potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and they weren't dry. The garlic and salsa brava sauce were savory with a hint of heat which I liked. However, I feel like these could've been better. For the main dish, my friend and I ordered the Casa Cordoba Paella which wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't bad. For paellas, it takes 45 minutes to prepare according to the menu so my friend and I ordered the appetizer to tie us over. We ordered the small size which was good for 2 people to share. The rice itself was okay. It was nicely seasoned and wasn't mushy which I liked. The meat was a let down though. The duck was pretty dry. The chicken portion was good, but also could've been more moist. The pork chorizo was solid though. Overall, I feel like there is better paella out there. The service was pretty decent and I appreciated how our waiter made sure we never ran out of water. It was a bit of a hassle to flag him down for the check though. Overall, a mid experience here. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here again, but would eat the food if someone gave it to me. read more

The courtyard was super cute! We went on a Saturday night so there was live music. The soft melody accompanied by delicious food made a perfect summer evening. The seafood paella was worth the wait. It could take up to 45 minutes so order that as soon as you get service. The rice dish came with big pieces of shrimp, mussels and squid. I loved the flavor of the paella and the soft rice. My partner got the Dine LA option which came with 4 little plates of food. My favorites out of the four were the potatoes and the mushrooms. They both had great umami. I could have eaten double of those portions. The other tapas ware pork belly and meatballs. The pork belly was dry and hard to eat. The churros were dry too. They had good flavor but maybe sat out for too long before they were served. The ambiance was great and service was good. I recommend making a reservation. Excellent date spot in Montrose. Upscale venue with a lovely outdoor patio. Lots of excellent tapas to choose from. We tried the potatoes, mushrooms, croquettes, sliders, and artichoke hearts. They have white and red sangria as well. Everything was delicious. When they give you the bill, it has a QR code so you can pay immediately instead of having to wait for the wait staff to take your credit card and charge it. Family style restaurant with overall nice food choices. Just a word of caution: don't eat too much of the appetizers, the various paellas are worth waiting for. PS: At the end, there is the choice of dessert there or ice cream next door ... :) PREVIOUS REVIEW A great place to find a very solid collection of Spanish food items. The weather was unexpectedly bad, and the plan to sit outdoors was met with reality. We were a larger group, and nonetheless we were were easily accommodated. The service was very attentive, and the food just kept rolling in, one deliciousness after the other. After several smaller appetizers including onion rings and mushrooms, the various paellas were most convincing, seafood and vegetarian, inked and regular. Great place for a good time. read more

FOOD This place was delicious. It's tapas so definitely come prepared. They also had a DineLA menu but we didn't opt for that. My favorite was the calamari appetizer. The salmon was also moist and delicious. SERVICE Wait staff were attentive and tended to our needs. We were order only a few dishes at first and then after we were done, we added on a dish or two on things we wanted to try. AMBIANCE Very cute ambiance setting. We were seated outside next to the a big crowd but still had ample space. Definitely bring bug spray if you get hit easily. read more

Looking for something different from our regular rotation, and I am not sure how Casa Cordoba has eluded us for so long. It's a charming little place in the middle of Honolulu Street in Montrose with some cute outdoor seating and good food. The service was a little rushed, but was overall great throughout. Pacing was better than a lot of tapas places, but we did end up with all three starter plates on the table that became overly crowded and needed to be cleared of empty serving plates. The food was overall very good. We tried 3 tapas plates; Albondigas, Croquetas de Jamón y Pollo, and Pintxo de Vientre de Cerdo. The last one is a pork belly dish that was the winner of the night for both of us. Croquetas were pretty tasty and the albodigas were good. We finished with a Casa Cordoba Paella which was very good, and loaded with protein. It did taste like they use a chicken bouillon powder or something for the rice, which made it a little saltier and basic for my tastes, but it didn't keep me from finishing it. I had an Oaxacan Old Fashioned that was good, but I felt could be a little more mescal forward. Same story with the Red Sangria, which was very good, not too sweet, but I like a little more spirit driven. I feel like it's a pretty good value, the space is great for a tapas experience with friends, especially on a night like we had for this visit and the food is very good. A hidden oasis with Spanish flair in the heart of Montrose. Beautiful outdoor patio! Get there early or at off peak times to snag a spot outdoors. Love the colorful tiled tables, fountain and planter wall. Their house butter is amazing with their crusty bread. Standouts are the potatoes (can ask for sauces on the side instead of drenched all over), paella and the buttery shrimp tapas dish. I forget which salad we ordered but we were able to swap out the goat or bleu cheese with manchego and that really made our day! Some items I would skip are the ham croquettes, I think I just hate them anywhere I go lol and skip the calamari as well. The batter is too thick. I prefer a light and airy crisp to it instead of heavy onion ring type batter. Metered parking available. read more
