Truffle Pasta (with chicken)

I really wanted to love this place. Every time I walked by, I would think, "This is such a cute spot," and the restaurant itself definitely lives up to that first impression. The interior is beautifully designed, with comfortable modern furniture, thoughtful details on the tables, and unique architectural elements throughout the space. Even the menu is beautifully presented. You can tell that a lot of care and thought went into creating the ambience. The service was also great. Our waiter was polite, attentive, and handled our concerns professionally. Unfortunately, I wish the same level of attention had been given to the food. The pasta dishes lacked flavor and did not feel worth the price. I ordered the truffle pasta, which was a generous portion but very underwhelming in taste. The waiter asked whether I wanted to add a protein, so I chose chicken. I expected tender, thinly sliced chicken, but instead received dry pieces cut into uneven shapes. It was not enjoyable or really edible. Thankfully, our waiter removed the chicken from the bill. My husband ordered the carbonara. It was good, but nothing particularly memorable. It tasted like something that could easily be made at home or recreated with a store-bought sauce. The highlights of the meal were the broccolini and the burrata and tomato crostini, which we both enjoyed. Overall, the restaurant is beautiful and the service was excellent, but the food did not match the quality of the atmosphere or the prices. We left feeling unsatisfied and, unfortunately, do not see ourselves returning.

Parking is available across the street in a structure, and it is free for 90 minutes. The ambiance here is to die for, a perfect place to celebrate a birthday or a date night. Service was amazing and attentive. The only downside was that the food was just okay. I do recommend trying the specialty cocktails, as they're unique and tasty. Also, they offer complimentary ice cream if you're celebrating a birthday.

Wanted to do Italian so we found one in the alley near the Glendale Marketplace. We just decided to hop in for a light lunch and we were surprised! We really enjoyed everything and tuna tartare really did it for us. Amazing flavors and we'd get this again in a heartbeat. Shrimp scampi was flavorful with thicker pasta than I've had before but man I could eat two portions of this! Burrata salad was good too, but we did expect regular tomato slices rather than the cherry tomatoes, slightly disappointed but does not matter. Served was attentive and kind. I highly recommend for a light lunch! Don't know why the place was so empty on a weekend!

It's a new restaurant in the heart of Glendale. The food is Italian Mediterranean. If you don't order anything else, you have to try the desserts especially the house made Napoleon. It is very very good. Enjoy the atmosphere oh yeah they also have a very scented space that smells like sage in white tea.

I went to this restaurant for an anniversary lunch. We made reservation and our table was ready timely. Our server was nice , friendly and attentive. We asked him about the zucchini pizza, but unfortunately they don't have it anymore. They were nice and they made it for us. I really appreciate the gesture and going above and beyond for pleasing the customer. For ambiance, I will say this is a very nice and modern looking restaurant. There are plenty of seats and it is a perfect spot for celebrations. P.S this restaurant is fine dining restaurant. They started charging customers 3.5% credit card fee which makes it less of fine dining vibes/ aesthetic. Fine dining restaurants usually do not make customers pay CC fees, but recently this is becoming a trend in Glendale to encourage customers to pay cash.

I really had high hopes for this restaurant & wanted to enjoy it. There were high points like the truly lovely decor both indoor and outdoor, exhibiting high scale ambiance. Everything looks so curated & charming. The service is absolutely exceptional as well. But the food was ultimately a let down in comparison to the rest of the experience, instead of the highlight. The parpadelle bolognese was lacking in soul & a bit bland but the cook on the pasta was ok. The white truffle risotto with steak was more like a porridge consistency. The truffle didn't shine & isn't as generous as other establishments. The steak was maybe boiled? Closer to a medium than medium rare. The mushroom side was average. The bread basket was not bad, but shouldn't be the star of the meal.

It was a Sunday afternoon in Glendale and after some Christmas shopping, it was time to get some food and enjoy some lunch. My wife and I couldn't settle on what to get, so we went with some Italian at Cecile Trattoria. This restaurant is beautiful on the inside offering a bunch of different table styles and a large menuto go with it. This place has a bunch of different options for pasta, meat entrees, salads, appetizers, and whatever else you could think of grabbing at an Italian place. For me, Chicken parmesan was on the mind so that's exactly what I ordered. Now, usually when you order Chicken Parm from a restaurant, you are served a piece of chicken with some cheese, sauce, and of course some pasta underneath it or on the side, well, not here. So when the plate was served in front of me it did include a good sized piece of chicken with some sauce and cheese on it, but no pasta or spaghetti served with it, and instead you get a small salad along with some mashed potatoes. Now the chicken itself tasted good and I did like it, but the mashed potatoes on the side did not taste very good at all and made kind of a weird pairing that wasn't great. The salad was fine, but again, when you order chicken parm you kinda expect some sort of pasta with it and the lack of kind of killed the meal a bit. Overall, Cecile Trattoria was fine enough with service and ambience, but the food was just kind of a let down. Would I come back? Probably not, but hey, maybe this place will be more up your ally.

Beef tartare

I was super excited to try this place out. I believe the face of the restaurant (host/hostess) is what makes or breaks a restaurant. 1st, I didn't like that I was told we have 2 hours to eat and run. 2nd, I think they're short handed as we had to ask for ice twice. 3rd, it was so hot in there. The food,: appetizers were bomb, beef tartare, beet salad, and the carpaccio on point. The lychee martini was yum I ordered the truffle pasta which came out cold and probably was sitting at the pass for a while. I didn't complain , I know better. lol The ambiance is very modern and cute.

Beautiful interior

Our first time at Cecile. The ambience is nice beautifully done, unfortunately the chairs sit too low they come around and offer pillows. The hostess with the short black hair was very nice and welcoming. Our waiter Alvi was also very nice, friendly, polite, hardworking and efficient. Food presentation was great but everything was a bit salty. Overall nice

Went here for a girl night out and had so much fun. Definitely get the branzino. It's with dill and delicious. Their lamb chops were so tender and the green sauce on top just took it to a whole new level. Also the presentation was great! Side note: the interior was gorgeous. They really thought it through and executed the interior decor perfectly. Loved the service. Very attentive and friendly.

Carbonara
Kunous K.

The experience started good ... Made a reservation at 7, we were seated immediately... Warm bread was served, all the appetizers are good, the carpaccio and tuna tartare are fresh and prepared well... Things went downhill from here... Servers are very inexperienced... The way they refill the water, the way to clean the table, there are even two cups of bobatime on the hostess counter... We don't like any of our entrees, the steak was overcooked, carbonara was normal, risotto was okay but nothing wow... The music was kind of loud... It's new so the decorations is fresh and practical, but nothing remarkable...

Calamari
Sarah O.

From the moment you walk in, the restaurant feels warm and welcoming with its beautiful decor and homey vibe. I came here on a weekday evening after work with a friend, and everyone we encountered was kind and accommodating. I'll admit, I was a bit hesitant at first--having just returned from Italy a month prior, I wasn't sure how this place would measure up. But I was pleasantly surprised. The calamari was decent, though not particularly memorable. Tuna tartar was good and great for sharing. The real standout was the pastas! The pasta Bolognese it tasted nearly identical to the one I had in Florence & My friend loved her lemon pasta. If you're craving delicious, authentic-tasting pasta, I'd definitely recommend this spot.

Tuna Tartare
Justin J.

Was in Glendale and had been by this restaurant before, so decided it was time to give this Italian restaurant a try. We were able to walk in and get a table without a reservation, which is always nice. Ambiance is nice, has a "clean" vibe. You're started with an assortment of breads, assuming made in house, and some butter. Nothing necessarily outstanding but always nice to have. We ordered the tuna tartare as a starter. The first bite didn't taste like anything special, but the subsequent bites tasted like there was a little seasoning to go along with the tartare, which just made the other flavor in the tuna and avocado pop off and accentuate themselves. Ended up being a nice appetizer. For entrees, we tried the lemon pasta and carbonara. The lemon pasta really didn't stand out in any way being spaghetti, lemon and shallots. I believe there is an option to add protein, and I definitely would, but, honestly, I'd try something else on the menu. The Carbonara, on the other hand, was very good. Had a great chew to the pasta to pair with the crispiness of the guanciale and the creaminess of the sauce. Just an all around nice bite. Also, I tried their passion fruit lemonade, which was something I had not seen anywhere else, and it was very refreshing and flavorful. Overall, a very nice new Italian restaurant to LA, and especially if you're around the Glendale area. Definitely get the tartare and the carbonara, but skip the lemon pasta and try something else.

Hello, can we do bridal shower?

Probably you can because the place is quite big and lovely.

Where exactly it is located?

Hi Inessa, We are located on 118 S Brand Blvd. Glendale, CA 91205, inside the Glendale Marketplace.

I see quite a few gluten-free items on your menu, but when I look at the pictures, they're served with the bread such as the tuna tartare? The Caesar salad is also labeled as gluten-free, but it has a lemon crunch, does that have breadcrumbs?

Do U have lunch menu?

With the seemingly ever-changing landscape along Brand Blvd. in downtown Glendale, this establishment has been around since 2012 (which I believe was the first and only time I came here). Primarily known for its inventive craft cocktails and a killer whiskey selection, it was a nice place to sneak away into before or after your main event... or, maybe this could be the place to spend an entire evening. After a few minutes of reviewing the menu, we each placed our order at the bar, our drinks were delivered quickly while the food took mere minutes to arrive at the table. We had to approach the bar each time we ordered something, but any empty glasses and plates were collected at the table. Once we closed out our tabs, we were thanked for coming as we headed out into the night. Everything was chill and easy - thank you! PARKING (Varied; FREE this instance): I parked in the nearby original Glendale Galleria parking structure and simply walked over first to The Americana then to this place. Otherwise, there was limited parking along the main drag of Brand Blvd. and other surrounding side streets, the nearby Glendale Galleria II parking structure, The Americana parking structure that offered validation, numerous public transportation options, and rideshares - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A dark cavernous speakeasy-like place with open space, various tables and couches strewn about, and a large long somewhat decorative bar with an impressive whiskey selection displayed behind it. I appreciated the exposed brick walls which gave it that old-time feel with a few framed pictures hung on them. Minimal natural lighting came through the front doors and windows while minimal electric ceiling lights filled in rest. There was at least one projection TV where we watched the Dodgers game while music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=SomLKsk1KVcemeOCHGOZfg ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL It was nice to slip into The Famous Bar for the first time in over a decade, and if I found myself spending time in downtown Glendale again, I'd consider another visit. Sadly, I try to avoid the highly congested area as much as possible. I loved the fact that they had a daily happy hour (4pm-7pm) and late-night SU-TH happy hours (10:30pm-close), so there was always a deal to be found. The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...
