    House drip coffee
    Jason L.

Finally got to try breakfast at this place and I'm glad to say that I will be a frequent visitor! Little Ripper is a neighborhood joint on Verdugo that has both excellent coffee and a great breakfast menu that offers small and regular sized plates. The ambience in the cafe is absolutely charming; they play really soft and mellow music and the inside is both familiar and vintage at the same time. Alot of their interior design has references to Australia, although I am not too sure as to what the connection is. I had the good morning plate with a house drip coffee and both were great! You have to pay up front and then grab a seat wherever; they serve you the food once its ready. Everyone was really friendly, almost like I was being welcomed into the neighborhood. Will have to come back at night, as I have passed by yesterday and the patio looked cute and romantic. Definitely give this place a go when you get the chance!

This might have been one of the best chocolate cakes I've ever had. It wasn't overly sweet and the cream was so light it paired really well with the cake

4++ recently came into this place, looking for some caffeine and a light snack for a pretty long drive. Ordered one of their cappuccinos as well as one of the fresh donuts they had in the case. Both were really delicious. The vibe in the morning is pretty chill. There's only a few people inside. The folks behind the counter more friendly. We were in and out of there in five minutes, so it's really quick.

had the cutest brunch at Little Ripper with my mom and sister. This cozy neighborhood spot is an absolute gem. We sat down and the soppersata sandwiches were eyeing me behind the counter so I had to order one and it was fantastic . Our dishes came out and the spread looked amazing. The Turkish egg dish was spectacular. The herbed lebneh was brilliant. It had dill and terregon in it and the 7 minute eggs were so creamy. The Good morning plate was fantastic. The eggs were so fluffy, and the roasted tomatoes was genius. also their latte was so good I got one to go. Safe to say ill be back here very very soon!

Its tucked in a quiet neighborhood off the 2. There's street parking but signs say it's only for an hour. The place is cozy and great for reading/chatting. There's no wifi so I used mobile hotspot for a little bit to get some work done. The drinks were great and came out at a reasonable time. I wasn't super hungry and got a classic Jaffle which was nice and warm - nothing fancy which I appreciated. I liked the vibes with family and friends coming and going. Would love to come for cocktails and happy hour next time.

Hubby and I stopped by for some coffee but left feeling elated to have had one of the best donuts for a while; the pumpkin spice donut! The inside is so cozy and served delicious coffee, service , wonderful. We're planning on coming in for dinner.

I had a bountiful and hearty brunch in this place, and I loved it! Their Chai Latte is good! It's my second time trying a good chai latte, and so my heart is happy! I forgot what we ordered, but here is a photo. The place has a beautiful modern mid-century interior. The bathroom is clean, and the staff is accommodating. I will come back here soon!

What a fun, delicious & adorable cafe. The menu isn't extensive, but there are more than a few great options and really appreciated that they have GF bread too. Very helpful and kind staff too.

While in the area I stopped by to get a cup of coffee. A cute little cafe serving food, drinks and coffee. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. I got a cold brew with milk. It tasted ok but I would like to try other drinks and their food. I'll be back soon to do that and update my review. Customers service was friendly.

Came here for brunch with some friends on a Saturday around 11am. The space had a cozy vibe inside, and the patio offered plenty of seating with a dog-friendly atmosphere. You order at the counter, and the staff brings your food and drinks right to your table. It did take a while for the food to come out, but we were enjoying the company, so it wasn't a huge deal. While the prices felt a bit on the higher side, the overall experience was pleasant. My breakfast sandwich was tasty, though I would've loved a side to go with it. Still, it was a great spot to catch up with friends and enjoy a slow weekend morning.

Order at the counter and sit yourself sort of place, but with cute, well-maintained interiors and outdoor seating. We sat at the bar which had some awkward bar stools (tightly fit and a little hard to move), but other than that, no complaints! I originally was disappointed when the dish I wanted, the Baby Bear's Porridge, was out of stock, so I ordered the egg avo sandwich. Eating it was good, yet standard. The eggs and brioche bun rocked. While I was eating, the chef came up and gave me a teeny bowl of the porridge on the house because he overheard I was sad to miss out on it!! It was so sweet and so, so, so delicious. When it's in stock, definitely swing for an order because I'll be thinking about those flavors for a while. Coffee hit the spot, and I saw the have natural wines for sale. I'll probably check out one of the vinyl dj events too, but all in all, breakfast was very nice!

Came here for some coffee and breakfast. Perfect little neighborhood spot with good coffee. Love the welcoming environment and the outdoor seating. I enjoyed my breakfast sandwich (simple but with good ingredients).

I went shortly after they opened around 5pm--candles were lit, the sun was setting, and the mood was just right. A small menu usually means you have to try everything, right? That's exactly what we did. As you can see from the photos, each dish was perfectly portioned for two people. The shareable plates were packed with flavor yet kept beautifully simple--nothing overdone or overwhelmed with unnecessary ingredients. They offer wine by the glass, but we opted for a bottle... because why not. I've been meaning to go back--Highland Park has such an eclectic nighttime scene, and this spot fits right in!

So we left Hosted a mixer yesterday from 4-7p with local business owners and for whatever reason, despite there being only 3-4 other people in the entire spot, the cook kept insisting we move all the way to the back so to "be out of the way" of other patrons as if WE weren't patrons. Not a good look when the only POC in the building are being made to feel like we don't belong considering most of us are from here. Felt a bit Rosa Parks to me which is most definitely not the vibe. We ultimately had 20 people there enjoying the company but being treated like trash at a spot where most of us would walk to! Aside from Gabriel, who is always nice, Customer service was subpar and not the way a local bar should feel. Posting this knowing they will likely not care but hoping you will.

Being in a party of 4 girls coming from high tea, we were dressed in elegant dresses, first comment was asking if we were coming from church, followed by eye flutters, short "okay" with an upward inflation to a joke about the day, an impatient comment about hurrying up and trying the wine while we were talking, asked for water when we were out, were left to pour the rest of our wine, didn't ask how the food was all the while was attentive to the table behind us, the cherry on top comment was when we were discussing the bill at the end, he was hovering at the table behind ours, then when we were ready, we asked to split the bill into 2, my portion on mine and the rest on another card, he then said "this isn't like a drive through, we can't do it that way" so I asked him to explain his comment, cause it was passive agressive and rude. After he wasnt able to becuase he wasnt expecting me to call out his rude comment, I had to then break it down and specify what I had ordered, he then sold "okayyyy....so how much, cause we don't itemize?" I had to again express for him to specify how they do it cause he has still yet to explain where his attitude is coming from and explain how they do their check splits, from my understanding it just felt like he wanted to play dumb and make me to the math, one I did he was like "ohh, okay" should have asked for the manager but we paid and left, I hasnt had this experience before being a returning customer, but he needs an attitude adjustment as his attitude was completely out of pocket. Do better Manuel, you alone got your place of work a 1 star. The rest of the staff was kind, facility beautiful and food and wine was good. This restaurant is not reflected in the 1 star.

Glassell Park is a hidden neighborhood in Los Angeles, anyway, and if you don't know what you are looking for, you might zip right past W&S, as we did. Parking is hit and miss, but there are side streets and you will find a space if you give yourself an extra 15 minutes before you come. The neighborhood is mysterious to me, sort of pricey grunge & hipster, iykwim. But! Once you are inside, you are in a completely different world. Bright, clean, genteel, muted, with dappled sunlight dripping through various apertures and alighting in a soft glow here and there on shining metal tables. It's beautiful. Some catchy upbeat contempo-pop music streamed steadily at just the right volume overhead. I found myself resisting the temptation to get up and dance. There are several rooms from which to choose, but I wanted to be seated on the wine-red suede banquette that gave me a view of the whole restaurant and out onto the tree-canopied street. From the time we arrived to the moment we left about an hour later, we were showered with warm smiles and attentive service. And the food? Exquisite. See my pictures. It was hard to choose. One tiny disappointment was they were out of the biscuits that I wanted to start with, but I enjoyed the crusty tender Clark Street bread slices served with warm creamery butter instead. It only got better from there. The two bowls we ordered were filled with fresh vegetables, cooked to perfection, topped with an egg prepared as we requested, i.e., over medium. The portions are modest and it was all so good, we didn't take anything home. We ordered coffee and were brought two tall steaming mugs of Americano, smooth, dark, and delicious. Best of all was the Lemon Lavender cake, a seasonal specialty. Honestly, it might be one of the best, moistest, most flavorful and elegant cakes I have ever had. So fantastic, that I just ordered some lavender buds (if I don't collect them from our garden) to replicate it at home. I don't drink much alcohol but if I did, I would head here for one of their experiences or tastings -- they have a formidable list. Check all this out. And hurry if you want to have Lemon Lavender cake.

Everyone also didn't feel particularly welcoming, from the hostess to the waitress (no smiles). Thankfully, we were seated outside for some fresh air, although the warm murky smell still lingered a bit outdoors. The menu seem fairly limited since nothing really stood out to me as especially exciting. I've studied the menu prior before going, and was only looking forward to their burger, but they didn't have it during dinner apparently. While the dishes were descripted very well on the menu, there was no depth in flavors. I'm talking about the pork belly, lamb chops, tartare, Spanish octopus, and especially the seasonal pasta. I'm happy that it wasn't overly salty, but overall the food tasted mediocre and felt a bit basic. I'm only saying this because I could make it myself, at least the lamb, fatty pork belly, and pasta. Portions were also on the small side. Service was a bit slower as it took some time to get seated and receive our food, and one of our dishes was forgotten until we reminded the staff after already finishing most of the meal. On the positive side, we were able to find easy street parking about a block away, and the restaurant itself has a cozy ambiance that would probably be great for a chill dinner with some wine. However, my group left still feeling very hungry and unsatisfied. To be fair, we came in hungry, and the portions and long wait didn't help.
