Would give 3.5 stars if able. In theory, this bar is a really cool set up and could be pretty awesome. They have really good unique drinks and shots (my favorite was the blue jolly rancher shot) and they have a bunch of games set up all over the bar. One thing I was unaware of is that smoking is allowed inside, so within seconds, all you smell is cigarettes and walking out of there, that smell stuck to our clothes and in our hair. The games were really awesome but it was not very inclusive of how to be able to play. People would claim the tables for hours and was difficult to make our way in to be able to play. The bartenders were insanely friendly and genuinely made really good drinks and made them quickly. They were also extremely affordable and decently strong. The service here is 5/5 starts and would highly recommend coming here if you are looking to try some new and exciting drinks. The second you walk up to the bar, you are served which is extremely nice as some bars take a while. All in all, I would come back here, but the smoking inside with no separate area to do so is definitely a turn off as well as the unorganized and cliquey nature of the game areas (hard for the owner to control, and not their fault). I love downtown Harrisburg, I go out downtown about every other month. Second street is awesome, and loaded with fun bars to try out. There always seems to be something new downtown. But as for the Bourbon Street Saloon, it seems to be a staple of downtown Harrisburg and has been there since I've been 21. They've had a few changes, they've moved the middle bar to the back. I think this was smart- as it creates a bigger dancing space. The staff here is pretty friendly, and you don't have to wait more than five minutes to get a drink. The drinks are cheap! I've ordered 3 shots for $7.50, and alot of the beers are only $2. You can't beat that. The bathrooms here are the WORST. They are tiny and always over crowded, with the location of them- there is never anywhere good for a line. I would suggest walking to Molly's which is right next door to use their bathrooms. This bar is also very smokey. I am not a fan of indoor smoking. You will leave smelling like a chain smoker. I'm not sure why more of the smokers don't smoke outside, as the area right outside the bar is pretty nice. There is a decent amount of seating, and twinkle lights are all over the place. It can get pretty crowded out front. Bourbon Street is a great place for a night of drinking. I suggest you stop by if you are in the downtown area after 10 PM. read more

I totally expected not to like this place. From the outside, it gave off that vibe of "douchey college bar filled with barely 21 year olds". But inside, it was actually a lot of fun. There were guys and gals there of all ages. I suggest getting there a bit early (like around 7-8pm) on a Saturday to enjoy some drinks and conversation with your friends or significant other before it gets rowdy. Then, from 9-11pm, it's $2.75 you call it's, so do a couple shots and start dancing and people watching. The music was ok. It was mainly current music, with a sprinkling of some of those 80's rock songs that everyone sings along to (Don't Stop Believin' :P) and those line dance songs you always hear at a wedding (Cha Cha Slide :P). You may want to save your wee for another spot though. The bathroom and its stalls are tiny. PS smoking is allowed in this bar. read more

This place was a rip off and homegirl with the purple hair doesn't measure her pours so you pay full price for "top shelf" but only getting 1 oz. There's also a mandatory food order that she doesn't tell you about until she's done making your drinks. She forced us to buy their awful tacos that were beef - no other option... perfect for two vegetarians. She mentioned that if we didn't order food that we had to sit outside (as it was raining...) which makes no sense. How are you making us order food with drink purchase inside but we don't need to if we are on the street for authorities to see? This place will be reported. The worst experience I've had in Harrisburg. I don't mind the dirty atmosphere, and such, but what I'm about to tell below could cause some real issues for other people. So after ordering my drink, a very drunk guy who can barely stand up keeps repeatedly shoving me. So I moved over. As I move over, he keeps bumping into me, stepping all over my feet and forcing me out of my spot at the bar, to a point where I couldn't reach the drink where I set it down. I tapped him on the shoulder to let him know he keeps stepping on my shoes, and that I can't reach my beer - he says if I touch him again he's going to "f*&k me up". I flagged down a bouncer - tell him the story, in the meantime the intoxicated guy orders another beer (isn't it illegal to serve drinks to someone visually intoxicated?) high-fives the bartender, and then the bouncer tells us both to separate. I tell the bouncer, I'm not looking to fight this guy - he's the one being aggressive. Meanwhile the drunk man is now saying "you're a pu$$y and I am going to f*&k you up the a$$". I ask the bouncer if he's going to keep this guy in the bar. His response was that if I didn't go somewhere else in the bar we're all getting thrown out. I voluntarily left. Awful. I'm from the DMV, where the cheapest you will find a beer is $5 during happy hour and you're not allowed to smoke indoors. Therefore, I am a fan of any place that has $2 Blue Moon, all day. I don't even smoke but fuck smoking bans. Nobody goes to bars because it's a healthy atmosphere so people may as well be allowed to smoke indoors. PA has the right idea. This place is everything I want in a bar. Cheap beer and drinks. Tried the "Trashcan" (not the dirty Trashcan), as per a tip from a Yelper. Totally digging it. Also the background conversations are worth the stay. And you can smoke/vape/e-cig in the bar which is cool. Where I'm from (Brooklyn, New York Shitty), you'll never find a bar where a beer costs $2.50. If you need a cheap bar to hit up and are in the 2nd Street area, stop on in! Stopped in for a drink before dinner. The place had great drink prices but didn't care for the smoking the allowed. They had the front windows open so it wasn't too bad, but I can't imagine spending much time there if they were closed.
