I came here for a fairly early dinner one night so the place was super quiet. The bartender was very nice, quick to grab a drink and my order. I had a Whiskey BBQ burger which was tasty, with a side of fries. I also got an order of the homemade cheese sauce on the side to dip my fries in which didn't have as much flavor as I anticipated, but it was still pretty good (I mean... it's cheese. Come on.). What made the evening more interesting was a guy who sat at the bar having a full conversation with himself... we thought he maybe had headphones in but nope. They get in all different kind of people, performers, bands, etc which allows you to feel very comfortable in the space most of the time. Very inclusive which we absolutely love to see. Cool, eclectic dive bar with really good food. We bellied up at the rail, both bartenders were awesome. The beer was cold, service was good, food wa great. I had a Philly and my husband had the pickle smash burger. Both were delish! We shared some tots and neither one of us could finish our plate. Downtown Harrisburg has plenty of unique spots, but I was pleasantly surprised by JB Lovedraft's. The vibe is quirky and fun, everything from punk stickers to TMNT displays in the bathroom. Visited on a karaoke night and the crowd was lively with a great mix of music all night. First bar I've ever been to with a 10pm-midnight happy hour, love that. The bartender was awesome and made the best drink I had all night after hopping around a few places. I tried a flatbread--just okay overall, but the pizza sauce had a nice kick. First time I went, I ordered some buffalo wings and a d'jeetyet pizza. Buffalo wings were decent, nothing special. The pizza did not have enough marinara sauce on it, so the pizza tasted a little off. Waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Second time I went, I ordered the double basic bitch burger with fries. This was probably one of the worst burgers I've ever had in my life. It tasted and felt like biting into a piece of charcoal because of how burnt it was. Tldr: I would come again I came on a karaoke night on a Thursday. The food itself was pretty great. HUGE portion on the Poultrygeist and would definitely recommend the beer cheese. Songs were a mix of mostly rock/hard rock, country, and other genres. Very unique atmosphere and amazing service. We were really hungry and it was late, so we used the Yelp app to find places open until midnight - it led us straight to JB Lovedraft's, and that was a good thing :-) Tip: They offer quite a good selection of craft beers here It turned to be a dive bar, but the beer was cold, the food was hot, the prices were very reasonable, and the bar tender was really friendly. AMAZING BURGERS!!! This place has the best burgers in town! Also, it's a great place to catch metal shows and listen to some metal while eating great food. I gotta say I wish the fried pickles were cut in little rounded pieces, the whole fried pickle was a bit too much, oily and not tasty. I like what they're doing here; this place finally found itself and is comfortable in its own skin. Hate how smoky it is upstairs so minus one star for poisoning the air and making everyone and everything that ventures up there smell like an ashtray. Upstairs is the area where they have live music and a small bar and lots of cigarette smoke Good selection of beers on tap and cheap pounders ($3 Yuengling) for reasonable prices. I haven't eaten here other than stealing a few fries from someone, so not sure on the rest of the menu. Maybe I'll try it but probably not. They have a ton of retro video games to play for free as well as some pinball and arcade machines. Lots of retro toys on display adds a cool vibe. Check this place out for cheap beers with lll and enjoy the atmosphere. 4/17/20 update: same score, just have to add that the burgers and poutine fries are awesome and worth trying. Love their themed weekly menus (prior to Covid) and I will continues to eat here a couple times a month. The prices are a little high for these two items ($22) but I like what I like, so money will be spent. The micropub is for sure the first one that comes to mind when I think of coolest places in the burg. Every story in the building is cooler than the last. All the details of this place is memorizing. What a cool place to visit in Harrisburg. The menu is short but they will make what you want if they are able. The burgers were delicious and they had a good selection of draft beers. Walked in around 7 pm on a Wednesday night. The place was pretty dead so we sat at the bar and were given menu that included beers, burgers and sandwiches. I got a draft cider that was freakin delicious and my friend ordered a draft beer (but not from the "sh*t beer" list, cuz you know, well....it's SH*T BEER!!!!!). Décor is a little on the dark and humorous side but we liked it. Great beer choices, amazing burgers (I had the IFrit burger which had mango habanero chutney, cheese, and a sriracha cream cheese spread). They had a lot of great burger choices and one of the best burgers I've had. If you are feeling REALLY adventurous, try the burger topped with octopus!!! The fried pickles were just ok. Good bar service with a small selection of beers and reasonable food. Huge difference in the volume inside when a band is playing versus when not. Bands are very, very loud, but the people watching is good in either case, given the crowd is a little out of the norm. For the metal heads, this is a must see. OK, so during Corona 2020, I am able to say now I highly recommend ordering takeout from JBs. The customer service is stellar, and their fabulous Impossible Burger is worth every cent. And the best part folks, is that they have the most coveted pandemic icing on our economically challenged cake which translates to a roll of TP for every take out order. I've been here a few times. It's a lot like a church in the Highlander movies. Regardless if you're an exotic relic hunter like Captain Carl or a paranormal investigator like me or an insane half-Dagon bent on enslaving people as breeding stock, we ALL need a place to kick back, hoist a pint and just take in how good it is to not be normal. Lovedraft's is that kind of oasis in the middle of Harrisburg's restaurant row that allows us all to put aside our differences, put down our spears and wands and bloodletting devices to just...enjoy the little things. I've seen the White Pope of the Inksphere play MarioKart with a vampire Prince while sipping Dragon's Blood (the beer, not the black market elixir). Somehow, a Nintendo 64 just brings out the kid in all of us. Dule' Mogassa of the Second Sight League of Aeternus calls this place "one of the few scraps of Earth left I don't want to burn." So they have THAT going for them. This is a NO MAGIC/NO HARM site, sanctified by the 2011 global accords. This means leave your bullshit outside. If you want to violate this rule to avenge some secular transgression, keep in mind that every bartender in the place is a Level 8 necromancer or better. They don't fark around in this place. The ash of transgressors has been pressed into their bar top and a few sad souls have been fused into Funko Pop dolls dressing up the bar back. (Be sure to ask which Deacon of the Bloody Tongue they have pressed into the plastic of a Xander Harris Pop.) A note about the food: The kitchen offers an amazing menu of dressed-up pub grub from The Basic Bitch (meat done right, IMHO), to some kind of salad that made Captain Carl squee. Captain Carl does not squee except in very private moments of which we dare not speak. If you can sit with a disciple of Cthulhu and watch her devour breaded octopus legs named for her master, risking a deadly blasphemy for the pleasure, you know you're in a great place. The beer offerings are amazing. It is an extensive list so bring a minion to drive you back to your sanctum. It is a victory for our common cause that we can all sit together, get toasted, play darts, and forget about our dichotomous, adversarial issues for a few hours. It is the first time we've all had a casual site since Dante's Elysium Fields closed in Hell. Well done, JB. read more

I drove to Harrisburg from oklahoma for a show at Midtown Arts center and after 20 hours of driving I was exhausted, hungry, and needed a drink. A friend familiar with the area recommended I check out JB Lovedrafts and I was not disappointed. Unfortunately the AC had broken and so it was toasty in there. However the temp didn't keep the staff from being chill as hell. Ashley and the other young lady bartender who's name I didn't catch were very attentive and kind. I ordered the sunny D mixed drink and the BLT. The serving size was generous for the price and it was delicious. While I was there, there was karaoke happening which looked like a lot of fun. The vibe of the place is very much like the name insinuates a lil bit spooky but in the best ways. If you enjoy a cold drink, rock music, spooky girl vibes, and most of your wardrobe is black this is the spot for you in the Harrisburg area. My 70-plus year old Father and I went here. It was an interesting experience though not ideal. Recommended that we go here a brewery we were at earlier. They have a fine, fine tap selection of high quality beers I will give the place that. And also, my burger was tasty, and some of the other items on the menu looked quite good as well. No TVs, but they have about 100 video game monitors. If gaming is your thAng than this is your place. The music was pretty bad, and also very loud! I think they were playing Gwar and Ministry and other industrial type heavy metal, which I can accept in minimal doses, but not blasting continuously. One of the few spots in Harrisburg open after midnight. It's very "alternative," think hot topic, but they have live entertainment and it feels very punk rock which i like a lot. they serve food till midnight, it must be good considering people were still ordering minutes before the kitchen closed. There is truly not enough you can say about this establishment. The variety of people who walk through and are welcomed through these doors is almost as expansive as their up to 100 varying beers on tap (hence the name.) Not only does this place have ever rotating beers and other drinks including slushies... but the food is off the charts. Burgers which melt in your mouth piled low or high with toppings which compliment the quality beef. While the menu seems on the smaller side, there is something for anyone. And don't feel limited by the words printed on the menu, as they'll gladly make the items how you want to make your stomach happy. Am I biased by this place? Slightly. My wife and I had our first date here, and this is the place we go to when we have free time. We don't have to plan ahead to stop in and see our friends and family here, as there is always someone in that we consider those things. Never has my wife nor I felt uncomfortable between these walls. They support every walk of life, and if you can adhere to some simple rules, you will fit in too. Keep your sports, religion, and politics as well as any hate outside of their walls and you're in. Had the pleasure of playing here a few weeks ago and this place is really cool! A bit of a tight squeeze but the atmosphere, staff, and patrons all seem incredible. They have some of the best food options I have ever experienced in a bar. Whether you are Vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, etc they WILL have an option for you. In fact, even if you don't drink they have cool alcohol alternatives like "liquid death" water and much more. I truly appreciate the inclusive attitude. They were also very understanding of Laura's nut allergy. That reassures us and makes me more comfortable to hang out an indulge in their bar! Their rodeo style impossible burger made me question if I was eating a real burger. It was perfectly prepared and incredibly delicious. Each table had a retro video game system that you could get on and play with your friends as you drank and ate. The support of live extreme music is awesome and unique as well!
