Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the street parking. Take that away and I give them a 5 all day. Staff was really friendly and personable. The food is great. I went with the BLT and it did not disappoint

Went here for dinner with some friends. I had a great experience. The waitstaff was so kind and the service was amazing. Food was delicious and the pub vibes are great. Definitely recommend!

This spot has a great atmosphere with an easy, laid-back vibe. The people are welcoming, the food is good--borderline top-tier--and the drinks are creative and well executed. The cocktails alone are worth the visit. The bartenders really know their craft, and the alcohol selection, including local beers, is solid. My only real issue is brunch. Every time I've visited after 12 p.m. (brunch is served until 2 p.m.), there's been a problem--either they're no longer taking food orders, the kitchen is backed up with a 45-minute wait, or they've simply run out of food. It comes off unprofessional and could definitely be handled better. I've noticed this becoming a growing trend during brunch service in general, and while some people suggest arriving as early as 10 a.m. for the best experience, consistency matters. If you're offering brunch, you should be properly staffed and prepared to serve guests throughout the full service window. Period. It's especially frustrating when you've traveled specifically to experience their culinary offerings and hit a wall like that. Overall, if you're looking for a spot that feels like a New York-style dive bar with elevated drinks and solid food--if you catch it at the right time--this place delivers. Just plan strategically if brunch is your goal.

Was in town for the night and this spot was recommended by a local bartender. The outdoor deck was packed and the inside was just as full, though I managed to find a seat at the bar. Right away, I noticed how hot it was inside, and it only got worse the longer I stayed. I ordered one beer, service was quick and friendly despite the crowd. I would've loved to stay longer and try the food, but the heat made it uncomfortable. Hoping to come back another time when the temperature isn't an issue to get the full experience.

Really lively bar with live music, a fun crowd, and great bartenders. Went on a Thursday, the two man band had energy and a great set. Really enjoyed just sitting at the bar and the bartenders are attentive and engaging. Only tried the shrimp on the menu but I'm told all the dishes are really good. Will definitely add this to my list of favorite bars, and they serve late so great stop for late night food.

I have been coming to Sturges for a couple of years now. Even though I'm not here often and I'm not local anymore, it's a must go when I'm in town. very cool little speakeasy with incredible food and great staff. If you're going on Sunday for brunch, I highly recommend the Cajun shrimp and grits. They're incredible! If you're going for some late night bar food, get the Reuben with a side of sweet potato fries, and a Bavarian pretzel for your appetizer. You won't be disappointed! The vibe is awesome and food is even better. Awesome little spot in HBG.

Amazing food and ambiance. Jeff was our server and he took really good care of us. We had the prime rib and wow it was perfectly cooked to order. Amazing food and service! Will come back for sure.

When did they start that? Why? To kill off their business obviously. The door man told us we'd have to wait a few minutes to "clear some people out," so I'm thinking it's packed and poppin'. Cleared out, yes, poppin', no. Basically, I will return again only if: I'm too drunk to remember why I shouldn't go here or if I have a date I want to dance with alone on the dance floor. Or maybe take a dump in the bathroom since it's not too busy and I could have privacy. All three above scenarios seem unlikely, so I won't be back any time soon.

Knock has to be one of the coolest bars in the Harrisburg area, and I cannot wait to go back…read more I recently visited Knock during Harrisburg's parade day, after a long day of day drinking. My best friend, who lives locally, told us about the place. We were hesitant leaving the comfort of 2nd street, but we followed her down Pine Street and stopped at the entrance to "Madam Knock's Pine Street Beauty Parlor." After giving the bouncer the weekly password (this can be found on their facebook /knock.hbg, twitter @knock_hbg, or instagram @knock_hbg), we went up a flight of stairs and entered the Beauty Parlor. The Beauty Parlor was set up perfectly, and after giving the password one more time, the bookshelf vanished to the side.... and TA DA! We entered the Speakeasy, a whole new world. The music was pumping, the drinks were flowing, people were dancing, the lights were low, and we were in for a good time. The entire bar/ club has a Prohibition-era style fashion with dark hardwood floors, lots of purple, and chandeliers. The bar was located all the way to the back, which is also where the exit is. There is a dance floor in the middle, and centered is a DJ. There are a few seating areas in addition to the VIP sections. I think there was a total of 3 VIP sections which ran about $250 + per a night. The drinks were fruity and presented well- I wish I could comment on the price, but I really can't recall. You can browse their drink menu on their website. Knock is only open on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 PM until 2 AM. This is a Harrisburg MUST.

The reason I haven't been going for the past three years is that the last time we ordered a Reuben, it was the most disgusting sandwich I'd ever received. The meat tasted terrible, and the color was "off." The time before that the Blarney bread was undercooked and had so much mayonnaise on it that it was inedible. Two weeks ago, it was undercooked and cold in the middle. The more well-done pieces I was able to eat, but the little pieces I could not. The following week, we decided to try the newly opened section on the corner inside the old Arooga's. Two bartenders working, the bar was not that busy but one of the bartenders closest to us didn't even acknowledge or let us know that she'd be right with us. It took the other very attentive and excellent bartender at the other end of the bar to notice my eyes looking around for some help when she came over to take care of us. She was great! The petite blonde was absolutely the worst and I wish I knew her name so I could call her out in this review. I used to love this place and my previous review is five stars. It's definitely not the same as it was before so I'm not sure we will be visiting this establishment again.

Margaret, our server, provided a great dining experience with the right amount of check-ins. Black N Bleu offers an excellent upscale menu with daily specials in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. The space has an energetic, bustling feel, and you can sense the servers moving in full hustle mode to keep everything flowing. We started with the calamari. The portion was generous, but it leaned more "standard" than standout--crispy and easy to share, but nothing that really left an impression. For my entrée, I ordered the Monster Burger with sweet potato fries. It definitely lives up to its name--big and hearty--but the execution felt off. The patties were oversized to the point that they overpowered everything else. The ratios just weren't there--not enough BBQ sauce or fried onions to balance it out. It ended up tasting more like bites of beef and bread rather than a layered, flavorful burger. My husband ordered the crab cakes, and this was the highlight of the meal. The texture was impressive--almost like a crab "cheesecake," dense, rich, and clearly made with minimal filler. You could tell it was quality. That said, for the price, the dish felt like it missed an opportunity. Pairing it with sweet potato fries and coleslaw kept it casual, when it could've been elevated with vegetables and something like mashed potatoes to better match the dish itself. And the sweet potato fries--this is where it really fell flat. They lacked that natural sweetness you expect and instead came across bland and a bit forgettable. No real depth, no contrast--just kind of there. For drinks, I had the blueberry blackberry mojito. It was fresh and enjoyable, but like other parts of the meal, it felt like it was missing something to fully bring it together. One nice touch was being able to see the cooks in action--it adds a level of energy and transparency that enhances the experience. Overall, the portions are big and the prices reflect that, but the food didn't quite deliver the "wow" factor to match. Black N Bleu has the presence and the potential--but for me, it just missed the mark on flavor and balance enough that I wouldn't rush back.
