Went here on a business trip with a coworker. We were walking around the square and heard good things about this place. Got seated and must admit the decor is really cool. I ordered the onion rings as a starter and they were okay. Ordered the chicken and mushroom fettuccine and it was alright. Service was friendly. Ended up paying about $30 per person, which seemed really high for Oxford, MS. Would probably come back since there aren't a ton of options in Oxford, but would try something else. read more

Didn't eat here as we walked over to City Grocery, but was impressed with the wait staff on two occasions,---they have a lot going on and are getting it done! Bouré simply has fairly simple, yet delicious food. I can't even count how many times I've been to this restaurant and left 100% satisfied. The Bouré Burger is absolutely incredible (fried pickles on a burger? How could you go wrong?). The crab cakes are always made with top notch ingredients, and ANYTHING with "Bouré sauce" on it is guaranteed to satisfy. When in oxford we always try to eat at Boure'. The staff is always great and kind. The seating is ample, which is important on the square in oxford where it's always busy. The interior is warm and welcoming with reclaim timber, brick, and rustic finishes. Plenty of light and good conversation. The menu offers a wide range of choices and there is always a daily special. Our party enjoyed the shrimp poboy and chicken salad sandwiches. Excellent bread and fresh ingredients. Our server was excellent! We will be back!! read more

The waiter we had was extremely polite and nice. We started out with the Jalapeño and Peach Chutney cream cheese dip with pita chips, and I was skeptical. However, it was absolutely delicious. It wasn't too spicy at all, and the slight peach flavor really complimented the cream cheese. For an entree I got the Bourè burger with fried pickles, which was, of course, amazing. My friend and I were WAY too full at this point for dessert, but we did look at the menu and it all looked delicious! Definitely going back here with friends. read more

I really WANT to love this place, but LIKE is as far as I can go. It is all decent food, but nothing that really jumps out. It is on par with an upscale chain restaurant. That makes it a little too forgettable and a little more expensive than I'd like. And getting a table can be a pain. read more

I used to love this place, but they changed their menu recently. They charge extra for fries and meat on the salads, which used to come with the meal, but they didn't lower the prices of those items so now everything has a three to four dollar mark up. What used to be a decent lunch is now $17. My sandwich was really good, but would it really hurt your bottom line that much to throw in a handful of French fries? I don't like it when restaurants nickle and dime me. A twelve dollar sandwich should include a side. read more

So good we ate at Boure twice since Thursday. First off the service was awesome both times and if you have children this place is wonderful. Great kids menu and some coloring for the kids. Also the noise level is loud enough where kids fit right in. Okay now to the food. Fried green tomatoes were delicious. Perfectly pan friend in a corn type batter with tasty comeback sauce on side. Shrimp Poboy is literally the Bomb. Ton of shrimp that overload the bread. They were delicious and fried just right. The beauty of the poboy is the French bread that holds it all together. Had the oyster poboy on the next visit and same wonderful experience. Sour cream potato salad was tasty and available other side like fries or fruit is a nice alternative. The crawfish and shrimp etouffe was delicious and included several wonderfully seasoned shrimp. With a great menu you will not be disappointed! read more

This has the BEST PULLED PORK I have ever had and I am a HUGE fan of it. There is a open faced pulled pork sandwich that is served with a freaking pancake! It was full of flavor and the pancake was awesome to mix with. I'm so glad I had the chance to eat here because I was extremely pleased by both the style of the restaurant, the food, and the service. Let's say, hypothetically, you were in the South and not wanting Southern food. Boure is for you. The place is cozy in the Oxford Square, and while you'll have to battle the wealthier Ole Miss crowd (and trust me, its a battle with those bros) it is well worth it for the fine food and cocktails. Here's what I've had the four times I've been there, and will have again should I be so fortunate as to find myself back in Oxford: their pasta carbonarais better than my 1000% Italian grandma's, so you know it is serious business. The pasta tastes like its made in house: nice and thick eggy noodles that are graced with THICK pieces of ham, grated cheese, and of course egg yolk to round out the plate. This is must eat cuisine. I finish off my meal with one of their famous pickle martinis. Sounds gross, but isn't. It is definitely an expensive meal, but well worth every penny. read more

Overrated. I have been in Oxford for 4 years and the main appeal of the restaurant is its looks and location. Situated at a corner of the square the restaurant has a good view of the beauty of the town and you're very likely to see many people you know walking by. The second floor is a wonderful bar and has a balcony which looks over the square, small taste of New Orleans with out being there. However the food..... while the menu looks diverse and sounds eloquent the food is the most consistently average. I understand the chef behind the restaurant is great and makes the menu, but the people hired to execute the cooking do just ok. I've gone back so many times over the years trying a different thing every time and I've yet to be impressed. Of course if you get a steak it's not bad because, no one really ever messes up a steak. At the end of the day, this restaurant is overhyped because of the owner/chef, the location, and the aesthetic of the restaurant, not because of its food. My suggestion is to go somewhere else to eat and then go enjoy a drink on the Boure balcony and watch the crowds go by. read more

This is a reasonably good restaurant serving some wonderful Southern fare. The new location (moved 2012) allows more people, both upstairs and downstairs. If you're truly up for the full Southern meal begin with the roasted jalepeno and grilled peach chutney dip. For the main entree, you won't be disappointed with the Bouré shrimp and grits. We ordered the crab cakes and one of the evening specials, a New York strip with 2 scallops. In my option the special only came with one scallop cut in half. I ordered my steak med rare and it came out really rare and had to be sent back. All in all not a great experience the food was OK. read more

Boure' is BOMB. Walked right in and the hostess took our names for a 25 min. wait. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks and 5 mins later we were seated. I got the crab and shrimp cakes and they were a little over cooked.My girlfriend got the filet and i had to steal bites. The steak is perfectly aged, seasoned and cooked. Food was great but we waited 30 min to get food because our waitress didn't bring our food it was cold when it came and when we told her she said she would replace it but it would " take awhile". Horrible service and mediocre food! We waited for over an hour for our main course and when we asked the waiter he said that they are getting the orders out as they were preparing them. When I told him that two of the tables sitting right next to hours got their orders before us, he literally snapped at me. One minute later he came out with our food. Went here last night and I was really impressed. The place has a very comfortable feeling to it with the wood everywhere. I've been here twice when visiting Oxford, and it's been great both times. The sausages are a great appetizer, and the Catfish Lafitte is an impressive dish. It's the only one I can speak about, because I will probably get CL every time I visit Oxford and Boure. The catfish is cooked perfectly, and the creole additions (crawfish and sausage) are perfect complements to the fish. It's really good, and I was told that the Pork Loin is amazing, too. read more

I had high expectations. Call me crazy, but I was disappointed. We went here for my birthday dinner and at $22 a plate, expected our dinners to be fabulous. Flavor was definitely all there, but portions are small. No bread given to help fill you up either. I ordered the Gulf Mahi Mahi which came with dirty rice and grill okra. Presentation was sloppy and portion of fish was ridiculously small (will post picture, sorry it is blurry). I asked the waiter if what I received was a regular sized portion and he said it was, but offered to bring me more rice in a bowl. That helped but the dirty rice had too much black pepper and wasn't much for a consolation. The fish itself was delicious and I liked the grilled okra as well. My husband got the shrimp with ravioli. I tried his and it was delicious. His portion didn't really fill him up either. I think we would come back again, but maybe stay away from the expensive dinner entrees and try something else. read more

My husband and I had a small reception here in their private room after our wedding ceremony at the courthouse. We had a party of about 14 and we had a lovely time. The food is excellent and you must try the crab au gratin appetizer. It is worth the trip to Oxford alone. read more

Arguably the best overall restaurant on the Oxford Square. Great menu items and an awesome dining atmosphere. The Bouré Bomb is by far my favorite. It's a must go place if you're visiting our wonderful city. Also, there's a solid bar setup upstairs for the late crowd with large televisions and great bartenders. read more
