Looking for a Sunday lunch we decided to go to Bout Time for a sandwich and bonus for all for my hubs. The serve was quick to come by fro drink orders but we had to flag her down to order food. I found it odd she didn't even ask if we wanted food. We ordered a rye sandwich and Monte cristo sandwich. The wait was fairly quick even though it appeared they had a regular Sunday football crowd. The rye was good and the Monte cristo a bit disappointing. It was served with both the traditional Swiss cheese and also an orange American cheese which flavor completely took over. The fries however were delicious. Service overall was just ok. I kept my coat on the entire time as I'm sure they didn't have any heat on in the building. Not planning to go back anytime soon as there are better local options for drinks and food. read more

This place was awesome! I enjoyed this atmosphere, relaxing, social distancing guidelines followed. We ordered the nachos and this was very light, it was amazing! This chips was thin and really really good. The Nacho's was smothered with cheese some bacon and a dollop of sour cream. The next order was the B.A.B.B, this burger has a Chuck patty topped with sliced ham corn beef hash, applewood smoked bacon and a fried egg that came with fries! Omg I have no idea but this burger was so big I only ate a quarter of it and I was full lol. The last item I ordered was the Shrimp Po Boy sandwich I didn't even have room to eat this but the picture does not do this sandwich justice!!! I highly recommend this place, they are friendly and very welcoming and the service was awesome, and I didn't wait long for my food!!! read more

I have unashamedly become a fan of Bout Time Pub and Grub, and it's nice that there are so many conveniently located around the Salt Lake Valley, believe me I've tried them all at one time or another! The irony is I'm not really into sports, but I always love the vibe of sports bars and Bout Time is certainly one of my favorites and they just seem to continue to get better. One thing that sets Bout Time apart from some of its competitors is the service which, regardless of location, is always good and super friendly in my experience and that is certainly the case with this location. Like all their locations, it's also very open and inviting, has lots of TV's, pool table, plenty of tables and seating at the bar. Honestly these are sports bars done properly, and when you add to that the local feel (most locations are in Utah, there's a few in Colorado) it's just one of those places that beckons you in. Bout Time is an equally great place to just stop in for a quick snack and a couple of drinks, or for an evening hanging out with friends, they just have it down. Food is generally good and certainly a notch above most places that serve bar food and there is lots of variety. Of course they have the standard burgers, sandwiches, fries, fish & chips, wings etc. but there's a lot of unique items specific to the chain also including the awesome Fajita Salad and some great appetizer options including Fried Pickle Chips (which I love as a snack) and their awesome garlic fries. There's plenty for everyone to enjoy and it's great value for money too. What more needs to be said, if you like sports bars, try this chain - you may just love it! read more

Food was ok. Drinks were good. But our server Ashlee decided to mop up the water on the floor by our table with a paper towel and then when asked about wiping off the dirty table she used the SAME paper towel to wipe our table I almost died. So we moved. Definitely will not be back! read more

Drinks are good. Food is good. Bartenders are abhorrent. Eating snacks in front of guests, never washing hands after putting their fingers in their mouth and then making drinks and delivering food. Completely unsanitary. The bar staff ALL took a smoke break but none washed their hands after returning to the bar and I did not see a single employee wash hands or sanitize the entire visit. This place should be shut down and staff retrained. I am a member of the bar service industry. We LOVE this place as our "go-to" place for "Church of the NFL" every Sunday during the NFL season. The food is great and we love, love, love Chelsea. However, we are limiting our time there, because COVID related county restrictions for mask mandating are not being followed. Customers are allowed to walk in without masks and are not required when individuals are up and walking around. The good news is we will be back weekly this year if COVID masks and all other county restrictions are followed, and we will FOR SURE be back next when (not if) all of this COVID crap is behind us! read more

It's a pub. Unremarkable, but doing so in an okay way, if that makes any sense. It's noisy, it's got a lot of flashing lights and TVs. Don't expect anything but a pub atmosphere. Service is prompt, but without any frills or exceptional good attitudes. We ordered the Irish Nachos, and while I had the fish and chips, my husband had the steak sandwich. The Nachos were good, fresh out. However, they quickly cooled and congealed into a greasy mess. Tthat was still the way to eat them, though! Otherwise, without any sort of topping, they were reduced to smoked-cardboard flavored bites of crunchy pointlessness. Trust me on this; I got some of these 'seasoned chips' with my fish and chips, and they weren't worth eating without the cheese and ranch mixture that coated the nachos. Good points: The fish and chips were great; crunchy, fluffy, light, not greasy. They were perfect. These earn them up from a 2 star rating to a three all on their own. Delicious, perfect fish. My husband reports that the steak sandwich 'wasn't bad', and that the onions/peppers on it was well done. However, he thought it could stand some steak sauce, of which none was available. The french fries he got with his sandwich were also good, and he enjoyed their version of fry saucer, which is a rarity for my husband. So all and all, an okay casual place to go, but don't expect miracles in the food department. Expect noise, good times with friends, some TV sports, and beer if that's what you're there for-- they had an extensive list, but neither I nor my husband drink beer, so it's lost on us. read more

I came here with a group of 8 last Wednesday, and we were glad to see there was a large table in the corner to accomodate all of us, but they sure took their sweet time to acknowledge our existence. We weren't expecting stellar service... this is a pub afterall, but our group was pretty hard to miss. Guess they weren't in the mood to make much money that night because they were annoying slow with drink refills. We ordered beer and Nachos- Nachos where cold , sour cream, salsa, and too much guacamole where piled on top, cheese on bottom- not melted. The plate was just thrown together. We would normally would send it back but the servers were all over the place. There was two 1 bartender and waiter. Walking by us and when they did stop it was like they where hurried. I really enjoyed my first time at Bout Time. We have an out of town Guests and decided to stop by for those amazing wings and awesome nachos on 3/5/20. It was kind of busy, but not overly busy. We found a seat and then waited and waited and waited. We sat there for 15 minutes and not one person from the staff even acknowledged us. They have uneducated people working at the door; not trained in racial biases or willing to listen and learn. It's unbelievable that they don't know that Puerto Rico is a territory of the U.S. It's unbelievable that they think they cannot accept valid American IDs. Everything here is sticky, the menu and tables and any where else you might happen to touch. The food was sub par with very little flavor not impressed. Jan 9,2013 I had the Garlic burger and my wife had the Classic French Dip. Lots of food and quality was excellent. Garlic burger was at least a 1/2 lb very juicy. Fries were very good. Waitress/Bartender was excellent and would be an excellent candidate to teach other waitress in this state about the proper methods of customer service. Inside was noisy. All the Bout Times are great for watching sports. If what you want isn't on the screen, ask and they will find your sport. The menu is consistent with all the others and the cook seems to do a pretty decent job. I feel like the music is way too loud at night though. I'd sort of prefer to be able to listen into what I am watching, especially when they advertise for a PPV Fight or something. The staff seems decent. Some of the waitresses tend to be over attentive so some patrons and inattentive to those who only come in occasionally. It's a bit too obvious which makes you less apt to tip higher. This Bout time is not my first pick. I like the one in Jordan Landing a lot better. On Yelp, it does state that kids are welcomed as well as I have called to ask if you need to be over the age of 21. When my little sister comes out with me every so often and is my designated driver we go to this one. She's been to this Bout Time with me quite a few times over the past year. Every time the waitress/waiter would ask for her ID she would tell them she's not drinking and she would not consume any alcohol. Tonight the waiter asked for her ID and she told them she's not drinking she was just there to eat. He told her she had to leave. Good atmosphere and great food! We are from Vegas, so we're not familiar with all the alcohol restrictions in Utah. We've gone to other bars and they make you feel so dumb, like you should know all the Utah laws with alcohol. We've never had a bad experience at Bout Time though. I had the name your own burger add garlic and an egg firstly I cannot remember having better plain ol regular fries, cooked to crispy perfection (no limp no steamy) then the burger .. Wholly Bat-Cow Batman great burger and all the fixins but just a good bun, still not bad all things considered, a burger this good deserves a ciabatta bun or something close .. Brandy was the best pub grub conversationalist .... the only reason why it didn't get 5 stars ... cost vs. value for alcohol ... it's the state's policy to rip off the public .. mafioso style, nearly 7 dollars for 1.5 ounces that's roughly 2.5 times more than every other state I've visited - go here, have a burger, talk to Brandy .. you'll not be let down read more

So we were in town and wanted to watch the NBA Finals. Since this place was close by to where we were at; we chose this place. Be forewarned. This sports bar has small televisions. They have a bunch of small televisions but they are small nonetheless. I ordered a burger with fries and my buddy ordered a plate of nachos. This was before the game before the crowd got there. It took over thirty minutes to get our food when the crowd wasn't even there yet. The burger was filling. Nothing earth shattering. The nachos was a HUGE plate. However, it was drenched in avocado, sour cream, etc. If you order the nachos and don't want them soaked; order all toppings on the side. For some reason, drink orders were off too. It took awhile to get refills and my buddy was waiting for another beer for a hot minute. Our two other buddies eventually got there. The food came out MUCH faster for them than us. However, their adult beverages took a while which irritated the both of them. Overall, the prices are kinda high for the food they serve with the small televisions. Everything here is very generic, but they are very good about being that way. Tons of TVs, tons of sports, tons of burgers, fries, and other fried food. No liquor but you all can get your fair share of beer if you like. I was way below the average age of 37. But everyone here is also un-stereotypically knowledgeable about sports, I was impressed. Most of the time people just like to hear themselves talk but never prove a point. I had a burger with thousand island dressing and the bun was two grilled cheese sandwiches on either side of the patty. I wish I could tell you the name of this contraption but I just had the bartender bring me out whatever. Everyone around the place was from somewhere different. Man, I wish this place had opened when I lived in Taylorsville! Was back in town for the holidays and my buddy Frank and I decided to check it out for lunch. The setup is pretty standard for a sports bar. High top tables, lots of TV's, very open, pool table. I liked the central horseshoe bar. Gives the place some focus and keeps the service front and center. Speaking of service, I was pretty impressed with our server/bartender. She obviously was scheduled alone for the lunch rush, but she handled it very well with a great attitude. The menu is heavy on sandwiches and burgers, but there are some very interesting items (bacon wrapped deep fried olives??). We had garlic fries - very good! Fresh minced garlic, fresh cut fries. We split an order of wings and the French dip pizza (you read that right). The pizza was killer. Very tasty. Wings had great flavor, but they were very small. The owners really need to rethink their supplier on those. I get bigger ones in the butcher section at Costco. Overall, great place. Will try to stop back in when I'm back in SLC, maybe for a Jazz game. read more
