    Morning bun

The morning buns at Bovine are absolutely fire. I can't speak for all of their other items, but their morning buns are THE thing to get. I always stop by here while at Point Reyes since they're so good. Pro tip - order ahead online for pickup. Soft, fluffy, and the perfect way to start the morning. There's no place to dine in but you can find seating at benches in the area.

I absolutely adore this coffee shop. My first visit was less than 3 weeks ago with my mom, and yesterday we came back with my sister. You can usually snag parking right in front. There is no seating inside or in front, but there are some benches/ tables very close by. Their menu changes, but they also offer some consistent pastries and other items. We grabbed Americanos, an iced vanilla latte with oat milk (omg, delicious), a morning bun, a savory veggie scone, a peanut butter cookie, a few veggie frittatas, and an almond croissant (over two visits! This is a judgement- free zone ). The staff was very nice! Don't forget to check the bookstore next door!

A must that we stop here before a hike. If there is a line it goes by pretty fast. Friendly people that work there. Very organized. Variety of baked goods. My go to is the cobbler. Filled with yummy fruit and nuts for the crunch. Not super sugary sweet which is nice.

Who knew the pastries and baked goods were so good in Point Reyes? I thought it was all about the seafood ;) We were camping in the area and checked out the cool town of Point Reyes Station. There are some great bakeries, and Bovine Bakery is tops on the list. It's a great place to grab a "morning bun" and some coffee and walk around the area or drive off to the lighthouse. Great place to stop at on our little road trip.

Great morning buns, pastries, cookies, and coffees!!!! Yummm! The morning bun was my fave! Flakey pastry, soft in the center and crisp on the outside with carmelized delicious edges and topping. It was totally worth all the calories in this yummy goodness! This quaint bakery is located in the heart of the tiny town of Point Reyes Station. We arrived at 9am and there was still a nice selection of baked goods. The line was short, only 2-3 people ahead of us. The service was fast and friendly. We drove our RV van and were able to find easy parking right around the corner from the main street. Lots of dogs were out and about and there was even a Farmer's Market in town.

Oh that morning bun was more delicious then I remember Hubby enjoyed the savory scones ! Drip Coffee was strong in flavor that pair perfectly with the pastries

Solid spot to stop in town before heading into Point Reyes, with just a few options available. I got the morning bun, which was essentially a glazed cinnamon bun, and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were pretty decent.

Stopped by on a Monday morning & was greeted with fast & friendly service. The store was clean and there was no line. We ordered a savory scone, which was decent, but the main star was the morning bun! I requested it heated up and it was DELICIOUS - highly recommend eating it while warm. Perfect flakiness & sweetness levels! It felt like a warm hug on a chilly morning. But be warned !! I thoroughly enjoyed my baked good... until a bird outside attacked my bun and tried to get its claws on it. I had to throw it away :( I spoke to the employees when I went to order another one, and turns out the birds outside are VERY aggressive, potentially due to them getting used to being fed by other customers. It was a huge shock how aggressive they are!! Protect your baked goods!

Wow! First off, the place is super small and constantly SUPER busy. However, there seemed to be a lot of workers, so my family actually got our order fairly quickly. We got the ham and cheese croissant, and the pesto potato bacon cheese jalapeño croissant (lol). I don't know if I was just hungry because of my hike, but the croissants were CROISSANT PERFECTION! And I'm a big croissant fan! They were the perfect amount of flaky without being too hard, fluffy while being compact, and well buttered. The picture of my croissant is honestly not very flattering but. it was a pretty large sized pastry and the proportions of everything was decent to me. I ate it up so fast..

Honestly, all of point Reyes station was a disappointment. Had this place because it looked the cutest out of everything in the small town. Pastries were good and coffee was mediocre. Nothing to write home about and very pricey.

My husband, our mini pincher and I were there on a Tuesday morning about 9:00am. We bought a chai latte, a regular latte, a Morning Bun, an Armando Roll and a bear claw. Plus a piece of ham frittata for our dog that they warm up before they give to you. The Armando roll is packed full of apples and raisins, cinnamon roll style with a drizzle of icing on top. It was delicious, not too sweet, the apples weren't mushy at all. The Bear claw was eaten before I could take a picture, delicious and good ratio of filling to roll. The Morning bun was crispy at the edges with a soft and buttery roll. The best part was the topping ... like buttery caramel. My pup enjoyed her piece of frittata! There is no inside seating but plenty of benches around the corner to sit at and enjoy. We will be back!

This place is just meh. They are surviving on the lack of local competition! Here is my burrito, glued to the paper.

This place deserves way more than 5 stars for literally having the best morning buns on the planet. That's all I have to say.

It was the Wild Mushroom Scramble with an arugula and watercress salad and tender potatoes. Joy Joy Joy this girl was happy.

We said no, we're just waiting in line. They walked around us and went inside. The hostesses came out and speaks only to the people directly in front of us. I heard, "you're in the wrong area, you can order inside." Neither my husband or I are acknowledged, given an eta, or menus. So we wait for the people ahead of us to move and they do nothing but look at their menus. We wait a bit more, nothing. So we walk up to the menu on the wall to decide what we want. The people are still standing there, so we assume they don't know what they want yet and go inside to order. The hostess walks up to us and anxiously tells us there's a line. I let her know we were in it and the people in front of us weren't moving. She tells us to wait outside, and again no eta or menus are given to us. So we go back to our spot in line and look at all the empty tables and decide that the system feels disorganized and there appears to be only one waitress for 10+ tables. After waiting a bit more, we leave. At the end of the day, Side Street could have had proper signage for the line. The hostess could have addressed everyone and handed out menus. The restaurant could have even gone fancy and had an ordering tablet. But as it currently stands, Side Street Kitchen's service isn't great and its structure needs some work, so we don't see ourselves returning.

First of all, Palace Market has some of the most entertaining one-star reviews I've ever seen from…read moreany grocery store. Nearly all of them are complaints about COVID protocol being enforced back in 2020. Three of them are from the same one person. One of the non-COVID related complaints was about the fact that the rotisserie chicken costs more than it does at Costco. As a former Costco employee who actually was "the rotisserie chicken girl," I found this hilarious. Everyone (apparently not everyone) knows that Costco chickens are sold below cost, as a doorbuster. They are intentionally placed in the back of the store, in a location which forces the consumer to walk past all of the promotional items on their way to and fro. You help subsidize the low cost with your annual membership fee. Furthermore, let's just say that if you knew everything that I know about rotisserie chickens, you would probably stop buying them from the store altogether, and invest in your own rotisserie chicken oven kit. These $28 chickens are meant for doctors/rich people who want an organic, free-range, non-injected local chicken that was cooked in an exceptionally clean oven, all by itself, with expensive spices and seasonings-- but don't have the time or expertise to cook them themselves. There are also some added fees for profit and the fair treatment of workers. If you want a Costco chicken, like, go to Costco. Lmao. That being said, yes, a lot of the items in this store are what I would refer to as "prohibitively expensive." Never in my life would I pay $60 for one pound of coffee. But, lucky for me, they also carry $10 coffee bags, which I can afford. Never in my life would I pay $30 for one block of cheese-- but they also carry $7 blocks of cheese. At some point, you have to realize, you get what you pay for. Palace Market is primarily geared towards the local clientele (insanely rich people) and tourists. Generally speaking, this is reflected in the cleanliness, availability of staff to help you (versus a skeleton staff who suffers if one person calls in sick), high-quality local products, great merchandising, great lighting, and community values. While the coffee and hot deli items are a lot pricier than they would be in, for example, Sacramento-- they also taste better. This past weekend, after walking around the farmer's market in the sun, I became desperately hungry enough to pay $14 for one of their hot Cubano sandwiches, and it was amazing. After taking my first bite, I literally said, "Oh my God, that's one of the best sandwich bites I've ever had in my life." Yes, shopping here is a splurge. You get what you pay for. If you're privileged enough to be able to afford to shop at Palace Market, you'll typically get exceptionally high-quality products with exceptional service. For the rest of us peasants, they have enough sales and po'boy items for us to just dip in for a taste.
