I finally got to check out this place after hearing so many good things about it. They offer several oyster selections based on size. We got a dozen medium oysters, and they were really fresh, plump, and meaty. Briny with a touch of sweetness, refreshing, creamy, and juicy! Highly recommend stopping by! And don't forget to bring your own cooler, and it's slightly cheaper if you pay in cash!

The best date ever. Took my cooler, shucker, lemon, mignonette sauce, some mango and avocado for a side. Drove over to South Beach and ate 50 of the freshest oysters ever. Delicious Can't wait to go back.

My oysters all plated up at home

First time here, I drove an hour and a half to get there. When I arrived I parked in the gravel lot and walked up to the counter where there was just one person ahead of me. When it was my turn I asked about the sizes of the oysters and they vaguely described them. I felt a little rushed to be completely honest, even with no line behind me. I got two dozen of two different types of smaller sized oysters. Brought them home and realized I forgot to buy a shucker, which I learned after I left that they sold them there lol. I think they assume everyone coming there is totally knowledgeable about oysters, but it would be nice if they were a little more informative. Anyway, I got home excited to open my fresh oysters, and most of them were good but quite a few weren't. I guess it's spawning season so the oysters were fat and milky. I've never had milky oysters before so I was unsure, some were good but some were pretty bad. Overall I would probably come back here, it's a decent cost for oysters. It seems the market price and the price here even out for the amount I had to throw out. (MP being $3-4 where here it's about $1.80)

Nice day to get out, buy fish and dig in.

May 23, 2025 3.7 stars An hour and fifteen minute drive from Crockett. The GPS told us to take the San Rafael Richmond Bridge rather than HWY 37. It was so pleasant to drive for a change in a county that keeps on top of its road repairs. Smooth driving. There is one winding arse road we had to tackle that made me queasy but there is plenty of nice scenery so worth it. There is a funny sign at the entrance that says "Bring your own plastic bag." Instead of driving an hour and 15 home for that, we made due with a reusable shopping bag we luckily found in our trunk. Once there, it is easy to drop a Benjamin plus his cousins on shellfish. Three dozen medium oysters, 4 lbs of Manilla clams, and me falling for the "Don't be cheap dude and tip me for selling you stuff" button on the payment screen. $120. Everything was fresh and tasty. We did learn today that steaming unshucked oysters is much easier with more consistent results then baking . Also the oysters at this place are about a dollar each more expensive than the oysters sold at Ranch 99 (or is it 99 Ranch).

If you're looking for massive (or any, really) amounts of fresh oysters, this is where to go. They have fresh unshucked oysters in various sizes at affordable prices. We came on a Sunday near closing time. They had someone directing traffic in the parking lot and the line for oysters moved quickly. You tell them the size and how many dozen you want.

This was my second location I tried on a Sunday morning. I decided to pick up small and XS. Customer service was great! The man who assisted us gave some really good advice on how to prepare the oysters and what toppings go well with them. We decided to try their TBOC Oyster Elixir. It was pretty yummy on the raw oyster. Overall the oysters were clean and absolutely delicious.

Wow!! This place was definitely worth a visit if you love oysters. Just be prepared! Bring a cooler, oyster knife, cutting board, and at least 2 plastic bags! You can purchase these items there as well. The ambiance is simple! Salty air & kind, hardworking people serving your desired oysters.

Always love coming here to get fresh oyste4s, clams and mussels to go. Service is quick and friendly. Very professional. Never more than 30mins wait. Ambiance is casual and easy to find parking. There are portal potties. Only wishing they resume some picnic area. Or let customers stay there to eat fresh items would be awesome.

Tomales Bay Oyster Company is a fantastic place to get bags of fresh oysters (and clams & mussels when available) to go. Prices are better than the other place down the street. Be sure to bring your own cooler/bags or be prepared to buy a compostable cooler from them.

My favorite no frills place to get oysters. They have a dedicated parking lot for customers, so you never have to fight for parking. It does get busier on weekends but in the 8 years I've been coming here, they haven't ran out. You can bring your own cooler or buy one of their one time use ones, and they provide you with ice. They also have lemons and oyster knives available if you need it. Over the years, the prices have gone up (but what hasn't with this economy). But at least they take card now, as it used to be cash only! (There is a processing fee for credit cards.) I love getting the extra smalls and golden nuggets (when I want to splurge and treat myself!), they're perfect raw! And my family loves getting the mediums for BBQ/steaming. Tomales Bay is definitely a to go place, as they don't really have a place for sitting/picnics, but there's plenty of beaches/look outs/etc nearby to enjoy your oysters!

Passed by this place as we were driving towards a different oyster restaurant. This is a good place to get fresh oyster. We did not buy from here because we were not ready prepared for a picnic and they do not have a sit-down area. The parking is also limited to 10 minutes.

Baked oysters with a generous piece of delicious garlic bread.

First time trying this gem. Definitely pleased. Took my parents for a ride, with the intent to see if they could find their way home. Totally kidding!! We did take a drive and decided to try something new. The food here is fresh and delicious, the service is very friendly, and I mean, you can't beat the ambiance of enjoying lunch near the water. Highly recommend!!

My absolute favorite place for oysters in the Bay Area. I have been coming here for years. There is a couple options for fresh service in the Bay Area. This is not the biggest, but it's the best. It's more of a blue collar operation than the more expensive trendy oyster places down the bay from here. They used to have picked their tables for eating oysters on site but due to health regulations they stopped allowing that so you have to take your oysters with you, which is not a problem because there are tons of places to picnic and eat oysters very close by. They sell different size oysters know what you want to do with them eating them straight off the shell or the bigger ones for grilling also clams and mussels are available too. I suggest bring your own cooler and they will provide ice if you don't have an oyster sucker you could buy one plus hot sauces, and lemons are available too , but I have my own kit that I bring with me.

It's a good idea to download your maps ahead of time. Once you arrive, if you need to get connected, you can easily hop onto their guest WiFi--no password required! We had a great time dining outdoors, and the atmosphere is super welcoming for dog owners (there were plenty of pups around). The staff were all incredibly relaxed, friendly, and helpful, which really added to the experience. As for the food, the raw oysters were, as expected, incredibly fresh. We also ordered the clams and a half-dozen grilled oysters, both of which were highlights. We tried two orders of the "tin fish" options--the pickled oysters and the BBQ oysters--but I'd probably skip those next time; they weren't quite our favorite. It felt like the menu might have shrunk, but the core quality is still there. Really wish they add more sun umbrellas, especially for the smaller tables. Since it's entirely outdoor dining, a little extra shade would make the experience much more comfortable on a sunny day. Overall, a lovely spot to enjoy some of the best oysters around, just make sure you're prepared for the journey and the outdoor elements!

Unlike Hog Island, you generally don't need a reservation to get in, but you might need to wait a bit for a table. There is seating both in the upper area next to Highway 1, or in the back area of the restaurant, closer to the water. Both are perfectly nice to sit at. Depending on where you end up, you may be completely unshielded from the sun, so hats and sunscreen are a must. The food is delicious. Everything is always fresh and local. Raw Tomales Bay oysters, BBQ'ed oysters, various seafood dishes, sandwiches, cheeses, and crab when it's in season. Speaking of crab - a bit of a tangent story here - about five years ago during a weekend in Pt. Reyes, I indulged heavily in crab as well as other shellfish, and quickly developed a severe allergic reaction where my face swelled up beyond recognition. It took a couple of months for the swelling to fully subside. Subsequently, I was diagnosed with a shellfish allergy, which I'm certain was a misdiagnosis (wouldn't be the first time) because I've continued eating shellfish per usual since with no further issues. I believe that particular season there was something with the algae or something else in the water that provoked such a severe reaction. To be safe, I now carry an epi pen, but have thankfully never needed it. And you best believe next time they have crab, we'll be ordering a couple, lol. Anyway, The Marshall Store is a terrific stop along Highway 1. Be sure to check it out when in the area. Enjoy!

No one really checked on us, refilled our waters or asked us if we needed anything. I finished my drink and would have gotten a 2nd if the waiter had bothered to ask.
