Absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. After leaving another restaurant due to poor service, Bowdie's completely turned our evening around. Aaron was phenomenal--friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu. He made excellent recommendations and happily accommodated my request to order the lobster tail as an entrée with Brussels sprouts and carrots instead of the usual pairing. It was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend's Kansas City strip with chimichurri was cooked perfectly, and the Alexander Valley red blend paired beautifully with our meal. Every single thing we ordered was excellent, including the drinks. The service was just as impressive as the food, and Aaron played a huge part in making our dinner memorable. First time at Bowdie's, and it definitely won't be my last. The crab cake was phenomenal. It was made with shredded crab meat and was absolutely delicious. My friend and I also shared the burrata and seasonal vegetables. For my main course I went with the filet mignon. It was incredibly tender and practically melted in my mouth. My friend went with the bone-in filet and had great things to say about his as well. The view of the cars through the glass windows was a nice touch and added to the atmosphere. Since it was my first visit, our waiter offered a brief history of the restaurant. It was interesting and gave me a greater appreciation for the place. From the moment the door was opened for us until we left, the staff was friendly, engaging and committed to ensuring guests had a special brunch. Yes, brunch! Bowdie's is famous for their steak dinners, but also offers Saturday and Sunday brunch. Brunch includes a special cocktail menu and an upscale interpretation of brunch entrees. Mel, our server, offered cocktail and meal suggestions and made us feel at home. Water came out quickly, as did our cocktails. I couldn't resist trying the Island Expresso Martini, which was decadent eye opener. My husband had the Sunset Shandy, which was an unusual concoction of orange juices and beers that he loved. For lunch, I had the Shrimp, Belly and Grits, which tasted fabulous. The pork belly and sauce were candied, giving the plate a delightful sweetness. There was a bit of spice also. The shrimp were plump and cooked perfectly. The grits were creamy and cheesy. I would order this over and over. The portion was generous (I took half home). My husband had the Americana breakfast. The standout of the dish was the thick cut smoked bacon, which was intensely smoky and delicious. The scalloped potatoes were beautiful and tasty ad well. After lunch, we noticed Graham Rahal back by the cars. The cars are interesting, especially if you are a race fan. Mel told us that they open the "garage" up to visitors once a month, usually third Saturday, so we want to check that out. We loved the experience that we had at Bowdie's. We had made reservations a couple days in advance. They have several dining areas and a beautiful bar area. I thought the brunch prices were reasonable for the upscale food and ambiance. Abby our server was fantastic! We decided to eat here due to our car being serviced close. They are new to brunch on Saturdays and Sundays with. limited menu. The ambiance is killer. Fire place, wine racks, loads of wine and fancy cars everywhere what more could you want. Not only did they do a fabulous job with the space it was done elegantly. Let's get to our food. I ordered the Crab Benedict and bf ordered the American Breakfast! My carb beni had my doing my food dance the whole time. This dish was Fantastic. Plenty of crab in the crab cakes and so much flavor in the dish itself. I almost asked for more hollandaise sauce but it didn't even need it! The flavors were flavoring!!! The American breakfast came with your choice of meat, side and toast. One this one they missed the mark but the dish was pretty. Bacon over cooked, parmesan breakfast tators bland and the only thing he did enjoy was the sourdough toast. Of course I did share my beni with him and he loved it as well. Best. Steak. In. Indy. Hands down. This steak beats ALL the other famous steak houses in Indiana. We had a filet and bone in ribeye and they were both the best steak we've ever had. The Au gratin potatoes was to die for. The cheese sauce on them was perfect. The crab cakes are deconstructed but the most meat we've ever had in a crab cakes. The sauce that came with was so good too. The chocolate cake was the only disappointing part. It was good, just not over the top for me. Still good!!! Our server was Joey and we'll be asking for him again next visit. He was the best! The ambiance is cool but be aware, not every seat has a view of the cool cars. If you're looking for an upscale, unique establishment to celebrate a special occasion, you should consider Bowdie's. If you choose to go, I'd recommend making a reservation in advance. Our table enjoyed the following: shrimp cocktail, crab cake, grilled Caesar, shrimp bisque, filet mignon with Bowdie's sauce, Kansas City steak, market fish, lobster mac, and Brussels & belly. For the money you have to spend here, it's not worth it. Our waiter Tom seemed to be very inexperienced at his position. We had numerous mistakes with the wrong drink being served to the bowl of soap my wife didn't order. Also, we had three flys at our table which was disturbing. My entire (Salmon) was okay but, nothing to write home about. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends or colleagues. Oh my gosh, me and my fiancé went yesterday for Father's Day. I called to ask for a reservation and the host was able to schedule us for the evening which OpenTable and the website said they were full so I would definitely recommend calling just in case. Host was so nice, we got there 15 min late and they took us right to a table and even accommodated for me wanting to sit closer to the garage. Wonderful and calm ambiance, they were so nice. Our server even let my fiancé taste a few wines before he ordered a glass, we ordered the Tomahawk to split and it was heavenly. I didn't even need A1 sauce, I'm talking just heavenly. They even cut it up for us and separated it since the steak was very large. I definetly recommend, we will be coming back. I have really been struggling to post this review, but truth always wins out, so let's embark. I have long been a fan conceptually of Bowdies. As a chef I get all tingley inside when I learn about a restaurant that has a desire and the means for exquisitely produced cooking methods and flavor elevated and enhanced dishes which usally results in unforgettable experiences. Thus my enthusiasm to savor the food. Myfirst visit was in the way home one day to prepare dinner I had been experimenting on making the perfect beef wellington, but I was hungry and wanted a little something special. I set down at the bar and enjoyed and escargot and a seasonally prepared seared scallop dish. The escargot was so satisfying comforting and satisfying. Pump several had multiple snails hottubing it in a savory browned butter bath, exquisite. I followed it with the enormous sea scallops. Extremely hard to describe other that the most perfect execution of perfection. Meaty savory melt in you mouth. I left the fine establishment anxious to tell everyone I know about this place, one that transcends expectations and imagination. I anxiously awaiting to treat my family to this culinary Disney World of flavor experience. So on father's day I got to decide where we went and I chose to introduce myself family to Bowdie"s Chophouse. Enduring the onslaught of comments of it being to elaborate to expense and to over the top for a Sunday afternoon lunch. I was giddy for the fam to experience what I experienced. My daughters got both the shrimp cocktail and a american wagu burger with truffle fries i ordered the pork belly pastrami and a crab cake benedict. My wife got the asian chicken salad. First I must say the pork belly pastrami was phenomenal enormous and fulfilling enough for the entire family. We then waited, and waited, and waited and it was between an hour and two hours before we got our food we were told the kitchen got slamed. But the obvious reality was that those around us that had arrived after us got their meals prior. When our food finally arrived everything looked exceptional but that is when everything spiraled out of control. My eggs benedict had half of the entire egg shell under the egg. I must stop here because this is simply ridiculous and literally had to have been a joke. First it's a poached egg typical cracked with the egg dropped in a spinning pot of hot water with a slight addition of a flavored vinegar to hold the egg neatly together. Did they soft boil an egg? The shell appeared baked with browned particles on the exterior but the egg appeared poached and even a bit snotty. I tasted everyone's food while awaiting my dish to return, the asian salad lacked any flavor, seasoning, or saveryness just simply tasted like washed greens, even with extra dressing added. My youngest daughter's wagu burger was....meh at most and tasted like a burger you would get anywhere it didnt have the elevated unami touch like would expect from a high end burger, differently not worth the price. The truffle fries were very good as was my oldest's shrimp cocktail they were huge but unfortunately the cocktail sause was extremely heavy on the horseradish and was to hot for her. When my benedict came out I was blown away by the crab cake there was no cake just piled on crab fairly held together with any binder but to my dismay it lacked the textual component of a crispy toasted english muffin but was soggy so I asked for a toasted component to pair with it. Also the accompanying side was nothing more the ungarnished arugula. I don't know wat to say. It was my oldest's birthday so they brought her a phenomenal peanut butter brownie paired with a outstanding vanilla creme brulee. With one overwhelmingly phenomenal experience followed by a disappointed and slightly embarrassing experience to follow I will extend yet another experience with this highy anticipated restaurant. read more

The atmosphere is very nice, it was nice being able to see the cars from our table because they have glass doors and windows however only members are allowed into the garage to walk through and see the cars close up. I know I'm going to be accused of heresy but maybe... just mayyyyybe Hoosiers should consider that the best steakhouse isn't in Downtown Indy but *gasp* at Bowdie's in Zionsville! I had a perfectly cooked and well seasoned bone in filet which was served on a piping hot plate and basting in a shallow pool of hot butter. On the side was a beautiful brick of au gratin potatoes as flavorful as it was rich. Presentation? On point! Also on the side was a culinary battle of good vs evil with the "Brussels and Belly" where the Brussels sprouts competed for my love against some thick and crispy pork belly. Add to this an excellent wine list, cocktail menu, and ambiance you won't find at any other steakhouse (the restaurant is decorated with millions of dollars worth of classic and exotic cars and has a window looking into a garage with several private car collections). Melanie was our server and was just as personable as she was helpful guiding us through the very busy-looking menu. So when I'm asked about the best steakhouse in Indy, I'm taking the conversation beyond downtown into Zionsville and giving an enthusiastic thumbs up to Bowdie's. read more

Brought my hubby here for his birthday dinner. Bug plus- it's 3 minutes from our house. Valet attendant was nothing but friendly and sweet. Took our pics for us before we entered. Very big, cool, hip, dark new restaurant. There are cars in a room on the way to the bathroom. Very cool. Booths, tables and half booths available. Started with the Caesar salad and it was so good. Even my hubby who is not really a salad guy ate half. Big portions and def shareable. I ordered the monk fish. Overall I enjoyed it. Different spongy texture. My only add would be for it to be a touch more seasoned or salted. My hubby loved his steak and we shared the potatoes as gratin. Quite heavenly and once again the sides are all meant to be shared. No dessert for us but they have beignets which we will have to come back for and a carrot cake-my fave. Beautiful ambience inside and service. The space is smaller than we expected. We dine regularly at Anthony chophouse so had our experiences from there to compare. The menu is not expansive enough. You have a slim amount of entrees to choose from. Have to choose a protein and purchase additional sides if want along with protein. Spent double we do at Anthony chophouse. Defiantly worth checking out once, but will not be a regular dining place for us. Food was very good. Lobster Mac and cheese was not worth the price. We got the espresso cheesecake and it just tasted like regular cheesecake to me. Arrived early to have a drink with my friend before reservations. I was made aware that the bar is usually reservation only, but since it wasnt busy yet they allowed me to take a seat at the bar. The bartender was fabulous. Very knowledgeable. She told me about the history of the restaurant. She suggested the Happy Wife cocktail. The drink was a good Summertime drink. Reminded me of a spritz. When it was time for our reservations, we were actually seated in the same bar area. We did have to wait a little while for our waiter to take our drink order. I ordered a half wedge salad and the shrimp bisque. I loved the bacon pieces that came on the side of the wedge salad. The shrimp bisque was solid. My friends ordered steaks with two sharable sides. They loved their steaks. One of my friends said it was one of the best steaks she ever had. The ambiance is fantastic. Its definitely the main character. Service was good but drinks took a while and overall felt a bit slow. Really nice atmosphere. Really neat to sit next to the garage to look at the cars. People kept coming to look and take photos. Even on the way to the bathroom you get a closer look at some of the cars. The grilled Caesar came out but waitress was not around. Would have liked some fresh cracked pepper on it. Also i had asked to share it and we both ended up getting our own. The drink was tasty. The filet should have probably been butterflied. The menu says they do not guarantee medium well.... I got medium plus. It def was undercooked for medium. Had them cook it longer. It was a little better. Flavor profile.... need more seasoning (salt n pepper) which we finally got way later. The Kansas city steak however was good and cooked perfectly. The potatoes seemed a bit burnt. As you can see they are brown. In previous photos I had seen others pics and they were def not brown. Tonight we went to Bowdies Chophouse in Zionsville. The decor is beautiful and the atmosphere is romantic. Our waiter was super friendly too. And just after a few weeks of being open, we had a flawless experience! We started with a few drinks, which were strong and flavorful. The food was absolutely wonderful(check out the pics!). My husband and I shared everything and walked out very full and satisfied. The crème brûlée desert was just the perfectly light and sweet way to end our meal. After, we walked by the cars. This experience was amazing. Our reservation was on the early side, and even though the car club area was closed one of the waiters gave my son a little tour which he was crazy over. The ambiance is unique and a must see for car lovers. Great people watching and interesting to see the private collections on display. I had their signature manhattan and it was excellent. First off, the atmosphere is awesome. There are lots of cars and motorcycles to admire while sitting in a beautiful building. The service is top notch. We did the prime tartare which I loved. My wife didn't care for it so she got the bone marrow app which was equally delicious. The tomahawk ribeye for two was fantastic and the sautéed garlic spinach paired well. We just left Bowdie's and this was our 3rd bad experience. This happened to be on Race weekend where they were busy. We did find a seat at the bar , confirmed we were good to sit down and ordered a drink. A manager came up and told us that all seats at the bar are reserved, offered us a table and we said we would prefer to sit at the bar.... In those words... she said she would figure it out. . A few minutes went by and Bradley the GM came up. He was aggressive, he put his hands on me and my wife. He continued to bump me attempting to intimidate me as he spoke extremely aggressive. He informed us we had to move and said we were rude to the previous manager. I was not and in fact it was every thing in me to maintain my composure after he put his hands on my wife. Bradley may have needed the seats but putting your hands on a customer attempting to intimidate us is over the line . Bradley you should be ashamed of yourself and should take responsibility for yourself and your behavior. Your bartenders are great maybe watch how they treat people and learn something. read more

This was our 3rd visit. The first two were 5 stars in every aspect. This visit was extremely disappointing. We made a reservation for the restaurant section, not the bar, however, after quite a bit of time passed when no server came over to take our drink order I had to get up and let the hostess know at the front door. Apparently, the bartender was our waiter, and he had looked over at us many times while we just sat there. I ordered the wedge salad, which I've had before, but the pork belly was all very mushy...it almost seemed like the consistency of chili. It was not good. I took a picture of it. I kept trying to get the bartender's attention for more dressing but he didn't see me. My husband had to get up and go ask himself. My husband ordered the Caesar. Neither one of us liked the dressing, it was missing the zing that Caesar usually has.... It was just not good. This would've been a one star review, but the other visits were very good.
