I absolutely recommend this place, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion. We went to celebrate 2 birthdays that are a week apart in our family and they really went out of their way to make it feel special and personalized, including a birthday card at the table treating us to a free dessert option, a gift card as a gift to us from the restaurant, and they even took a picture, printed it on-site framed it and delivered it is us sitting out visit at no charge. Simply amazing first experience!! Now let's talk about the food. Presentation was great. We had a variety of orders from steak to seafood and everything came out as ordered. There was plenty of good between the soup/salad side and the meal. Everyone was really happy with their dinners. Now let's talk about the dessert! OMG. Still our fave fine dining place. Went there last evening for a family dinner. My youngest got the kids steak 4oz with mashed potatoes. They were mildly cheddar. He enjoyed it all and the portion was perfect for 9 year old. My oldest got the wagyu beef tacos (appetizer) with a side of forest mushrooms. They were small tacos and he was glad he got a side. I warned him that they may be small...but teens never listen lol. I got the stuffed chicken. Delicious and plenty! Side of risotto for me and many hubby got the bone in Delmonico steak. He loved. We decided to celebrate a family birthday at Prime 47 recently. Our waiter, Jeffrey, was amazing, and the food was very good - filet, mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. However, when we go to a really nice (and expensive) restaurant like this one, we also hope for an overall good "experience". Unfortunately, there were WAY too many patrons packed into the dining room. It was so loud, we had to yell to hear each other several times during our meal. Our party of three was put at a tiny table that was angled away from the wall so a third chair could be squeezed in - the family member in that seat had to sit sideways, essentially, to be able to eat at the table. (We did ask to be re-seated, but there were no other tables available.). The wait staff had a hard time reaching the tables and struggled to find places to set down the food trays. The net for us: great food and amazing service, but we won't be back because of the dining room experience. read more

Service was a little off today (sat Nov 1). There was some confusion of who our servers/waitstaff were. Ordered drinks that came after our app and were made tableside. 1 of the drinks came out incomplete and may not have noticed if another wasn't poured right next to it. They waited until we said something about it to then admit they thought it looked light. They replaced the drink free of charge. While taking our orders our waiter seemed preoccupied with what else was going on. My filet was great and super tender. It didn't have a butter sauce like the last time I ordered it (see picture). Also It was seared tableside which was a nice touch but inconsistent. Also the cheddar asked potatoes seemed to be missing the cheddar aspect. They just weren't as delish as I remembered last time. We went to Prime 47 in Carmel located in Clay terrace mall on a Saturday nite. Prime 47 offers valet service which is nice. They were busy so we went to the bar until the table we wanted was ready. The bar tender (mixologist) made us nice drinks. I had to run to the car and get my phone charger and as I ran out there I noticed 4 or 5 employees standing out the door smoking. I'm not sure why that struck me as YUCK. But that was a total turn off for me. In the past we've ordered here before but it was always take out. I will say they have delicious steak and prime rib, and their Mac n cheese is delicious. They also offer Wagyu prime rib that is so tender. After seeing that we paid for our drinks and left. I'm not too sure if Prime 47 has a credit card hold for reservations as we were walk ins. I won't go back I guess we'll stick with Anthony's chophouse. read more

This Prime 47 has a different owner than the one in downtown. Yes, I got the gift cards from Costco. Let's start with the staff. I sat at the bar like I did at the one in downtown. The bartender was a lot more friendlier and was pretty cheerful. It really made a big difference from the experience from the downtown one. I sat at the bar in both places. I ordered the blackened scallops as starter and the sea bass with green beans and risotto. The scallops were well seasoned and cooked right. The sea bass was delicious and the sauce with really smashed well together. The risotto was accentuated with the wine and cheese, eccellente! The foods came out in good temperature and overall I was well satisfied. I definitely would drive the extra miles for this Prime 47. I don't even know why people go to the one in downtown. Flavor and presentation were very nice. The initial side salad was very fresh and the dressing was tasty but watered down. My wife had strawberry cheese cake and loved it. Creamy, rich, full flavored I had a warm butter cake. At first look it seemed very small, especially compared to the size of the cheesecake, but the combination of texture, warmth and sweetness was outstanding and as I ate it the size became quite satisfying! Sam and Terry were our fun and kind waiters and the manager Alec made sure to pop by the table to say hello. The young woman that served us was not communicative or friendly at all! We watched her interact with a table of 6 and she was wonderful but then she came over to our table, no interaction nothing!
