Moved to the area recently. First visit was to check it out and purchased some sub sonic 22LR…read moreammunition for the range. Was greeted immediately and purchased the ammunition I was looking for and at a reasonable price. My next visit was because my S&W 5.7 had jammed the day before at the range and I was unable to clear the spent round. At 70' years of age my hand strength and dexterity is not what it once was. Again, I was greeted upon entry and asked what I needed. Explained it and he examined the pistol and managed to pull the slide back with concerted effort. Checked out the gun, removed a sliver of brass that was likely the culprit. He then cleaned the weapon and handed back. Was done gratis. IT's rare I rate a business 5 Stars. Those I do have to go above and beyond.... which is why I rated Preparedness Depot 5 Stars. They have a reasonable inventory with decent pricing and from point of view a customer centric business model. Definitely my "go to" shop going forward.

First off, their staff is your typical rude bunch of know it all people who have no customer…read moreservice skills whatsoever. Secondly, I have shot at this range four times in my life and every time I have brought steel case ammunition, not steel core, steel case, and I'm well aware you're not allowed to bring steel core ammunition. So come to my surprise when I go there to shoot my guns with my little cousin that they say I can't use any of my steel case ammunition because it might cause a fire in the augers. Whatever that means. I had called them beforehand because I wanted to ask about using my personal ammo for a rental shotgun and they said of course I can and when I got there, they basically forced me to buy their own ammo because I'm not allowed to apparently do what they said I could over the phone. And then here's the best part, inside the range there's no range safety officer (RSO). Yep, they're all still in the lobby area sitting around talking chitchatting and laughing, drinking coffee and having donuts while everyone regardless of their skill with a firearm just shoots away. And wouldn't you happen to know that there was guys shooting their AR with a bump stock basically looking like they were shooting a fully automatic firearm and nobody said nothing. I don't even think they even saw it while I was there. Heck I could've just shot all my case ammunition and they wouldn't have cared. It's honestly a mix of bad customer service, ridiculous policy changes, and the amounts of them not caring about anything going on there that really makes this place a terrible range. I'll never be coming back to any of these Governers locations. They're all the same.

I bought a 12ga shotgun from this business about 2 months ago, Luther showed me how to change out…read morethe stock because it wasn't what I really wanted. After doing so a couple days later, I realized the gun had some cycling issues, so I brought it back to Luther, who said he'd send it to his gunsmith. I called/ stopped by trying to get an update on the progress of my gun at least twice a week for well over a month and a half. Always getting the same answer, "I'm waiting on Randy to call me back". So finally, I asked for Randy's info to see if I'd have better luck. When i contacted Randy, he knew nothing about my gun, but Said "Luther would give me Call". I waited for that call for the rest of the day. The very next day, I decided to stop by since I still hadn't recieved a call from Luther. At the store the next day, there was one customer being helped when I walked in. So I patiently waited for a good amount of time. While waiting, several other customers came in and were shown guns and given convo; meanwhile he's still too busy to talk to me. Only after interrupting him from doing the paperwork, (even though he didn't mind stopping that to show guns to the other customers) did he go to the back, bring my gun out, telling me that Randy had over looked it this entire time! And he just so happened to go by and pick it up yesterday, and instead of having Randy fix it. He just brought it back to the shop not repaired. Im nowhere near slow, he just never sent my gun off to be fixed, he just lied to me for 6/7 weeks about doing so.
