Let me start off by saying I've visited more than half a dozen times and every time the food is good (Tom Yum is amazing, the curry is great, and the korean beef is mouth watering). The service has typically been decent; the staff are generally helpful if you need assistance ordering, so don't be afraid to try this place out! That said, be aware that this restaurant has begun "compulsory tipping" at 18% without making it particularly obvious to the customer. I didn't realize until after returning home from my most recent visit that I had been tipping 20% on top of the +18% compulsory gratuity and, although I'm generally happy to tip well for adequate-to-good service, very rarely would someone tip 38%. I view this practice as borderline underhanded. Please carefully check your receipts. read more

I've been waiting ages for ramen in the valley. As a first of its kind in the valley, this ramen is good but I have a lot of constructive feedback. - the vegetables in the ramen could be more plentiful/authentic. - the ramen stock, while good, isn't as good as what I make at home. I'd like to see a more robust stock. - the pork belly in my ramen was okay, but I would have liked an option to order it torched. - the remainder of the menu is super confused, ranging from thai to fusion, to Vietnamese offerings. I ordered some bulgogi tacos. I assumed I would be getting a bao bun (commonly referred to as a baco), but no. The bulgogi taco was served on a corn tortilla. I had much rather see a well done traditional pork belly bao bun with some scallion, pickles daikon, green onion, and a smear of hoisin. Please fix these things so that this restaurant is a go to rather than where I go when I want ramen but don't have time to make it myself. read more

I frequently eat here and food is very good and usually consistent. When they first opened their cooks didn't always prepare the dishes the exact same way, but when I brought to the managers attention it was soon corrected! Thumbs up to him, good work! I usually order Garden Ramen w/ Zucchini noodles, or the Tofu Lettuce Wraps which may both be seasonal dishes. **Ask for their sauce tray** Thai Tea is a must every time. I have also tried the Tacos & Crab Rangoons both very good. Here's what could improve: When you walk in the door most times you are not greeted, and left standing there looking confused for a few minutes. This has happened me 9/10 times. Also have heard same from other people which is confusing to anyone visiting for the first time. Only thing that could improve concerning the food is I have been able to substitute the broths for vegetarian broth many times, but occasionally when I go someone will tell me there is no substitutions. I've been here twice now and haven't been disappointed either time. We've had two different kinds of the ramen and the drunken udon and everything tasted amazing. The flavors were great, there was a little spice but nothing overwhelming, the service was great, there wasn't a wait, and we sat by the windows both times which makes for some good people watching. Definitely wasn't dissing on the restaurant but I did think there was a little bit of a wrong that wasn't made right during my first dining experience, and management reached out to me after-the-fact and fixed it promptly. My husband and I went to Bowl 91 for lunch. It was busy considering we didn't get there until 1:30pm. After the first bite I understood why! My fried rice was the best I've ever eaten, anywhere! My husband had the pineapple curry which was just the right balance of sweet and spicy and absolutely delicious! Service was great! We decided to check this place out one night, we both have never had ramen other than the 25 cent packets from a Walmart. We got the crab rangoons to start with, 6 big ones in an order and people were right, they were soooo good. For entrees I got the panang curry with chicken which was delicious and creamy. The Tom yum yummy ramen was also super good, both entrees had a little kick to it and great flavor. Out for our wedding anniversary. After waiting 45 minutes Finally got the meal. I ordered Vegan Spicy Miso. As I was eating I thought I tasted fish. Then found half of an egg. When the waitress came to check on us I asked what the difference was between regular and Vegan, being regular has egg and uses fish sauce. I would have been fine if they accidentally just put in an egg. I just put it on my plate. The waitress was great, apologized and quickly got me the Vegan version. But still another 10 to 15 minutes and I could taste the difference. My wife was long done by then. The meal was very good, however when we got the bill, I was very surprised to not see any allowance for what was somewhat of a big mistake. Parking is just hard but I get it! It's downtown and the restaurant fits the vibe of being downtown. I'm pretty easy going on things, so I didn't really care to be seated high or low. The service was okay. The waiter who came to take the order herself was really nice, but while she was running around, the other workers just stood there talking. They saw my boyfriend and I and eye contact was made but they ignored us. Finally, one other waiter came to us and we were seated. Other than that, the meal was filling and made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! I'd recommend for a quick bite with friends or family. Oh, this was also my second time going. If the place is for Ramen then they have to be good at three things, the noodles quality, the broth and how its cooked. Noodles is a big lump , cannot separates the noodles. Broth is too sweet. This place has become a family tradition! Every Saturday we stop by after the Appleton Farmers Market. There is always a 40 minute wait and you will understand why when you go. The quality of the ingredients is outstanding. There are three vegetarian-friendly dishes. I get the Garden Ramen, which tastes like buttered noodles and fresh steamed veggies. I was super excited to check this place out. Finally had my chance tonight with my best friend and our two teenage boys. There was a good amount of seating and I really liked the atmosphere. We had a great server who was super friendly and helpful. I asked if I could get the beef bulgogi tacos with the extras from the lemongrass chicken tacos. They were great about accommodating this for me and didn't make me feel like I was being a jerk for asking. The beef bulgogi tacos were amazing, everything was fresh and the serving size was perfect. We also got the siriacha honey chicken wings and the crab rangoons. Portion sizes were decent and they were served in really cool dishes .. it felt fancy but, the price wasn't ridiculous. My son got the Tom yum yummy Raman. He doesn't really like spicy food, but he ended up eating the whole thing. I can't wait to come back and bring more friends here. For four people eating there with plenty of appetizers and main dishes also with drinks it came up to about $20 per person I thought that was really good for the service we had and the food we received. The last time we stopped in Bowl Ninety-One was a couple months ago. I know, it has been a while so writing this updated post might seem discredited or pointless. However, the incidents that happen that night has left a lasting impression on this establishment. We came in for my sister in law's birthday in October. There were two servers at the time, a male and a female. Our server, the male came over to take our orders. Once we started asking questions about the menu, he was confused and mentioned it was his first day and didn't know the answers, he said he'd go ask for help. We completely understood. However, the female server hopped off the stool at the front desk and come to his aid. She quickly interrupted him and mention it was his first day, he doesn't know anything and to ask her the questions so we did. This was only the beginning as we continued to dine, you could hear her make remarks at him, asking if he did, this or that. They were literally fighting like a brother and a sister. Towards the end of the night, he brought out our bill and didn't split it. So of course, you can see she's upset with him because she has to help him figure out how to split our bill. She starts by helping him but then quickly tells him to get back because he's the only one who knows who order what. I know, it might not seem like a big deal but being there to witness someone bully another employee was really unsettling. I really wish I would've said something to her. I can say, I'm a frequent customer at all of Yee's establishments. I've seen many bad behaviors from servers, whether it's flicking each off from the other side of the restaurants (Done at Big Pot) or incidents like this. Many little things that we as customers just let go. I understand that our co-workers are like another family to us but behaviors like this shouldn't be displayed in front of your customers. I will continue to support Yee because I know she is a good person but I will say I'm disappointed in the training and standards for these servers. read more

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a few months, since they opened. We went on a Tuesday night, and arrived by 5:15p. By 6p, the tables were full, and continued to rotate as folks came in the door. They were busy, but there was never a "wait" for a table in the small dining room. The food was pretty good from an adult standpoint. I had the Pad Thai. It was tangy, and not overpowered by peanuts. I will say, it would be nice if they offered options for children. We did some creative ordering to feed two 10 year olds. They lacked enough help, as our table was left for long periods without checking back. Also, they did not prepare my meal- apparently what I oredered never made it on the ticket. However, the chef who brought out our meals was quick to correct.
