The vets Roxie has seen there were caring, gentle, compassionate, concerned and genuinely interested in my dogs health. Educated, experienced and qualified to provide exceptional care for my animal. They have given financial assistance to me for my dog in the past more than one time. I've been ever so grateful for! Idaho Humane Society staff is courteous, they communicate between staff great. Professional opinions on one occasion that the mass removed from my dog ( a different dog) was not cancerous and recommended it wasn't necessary to send of for further research to find out if the mass was cancerous. She was accurate! Sadly this particular vet that provided care for the mass left the Idaho Humane Society. I believe she relocated. All my experiences with IHS have been good except one time about 13 years ago. My dog at that time was very sick, the vet treated me like I was abusing my dog. My dog was terminal, I didn't realize how sick my dog was. I got him from a rescue and I believe when I got him he was already very ill. Which I later discovered after the exam at IHS. The vet recommended to euthinize. I was in shock. The vet refused to let me leave with my dog and said the dog had to go into the hospital or be immediately euthinized. I couldn't afford the hospital care and the dog was obviously at the end of it's life. I wanted to spend until the next morning with my dog before I had him put down. The vet treated me terrible and basically tried to keep us hostage at The IHS. When the vet left the exam room for a few minutes, I immediately left out a side door with my dog and went home. Later animal control showed up at my door wanting to view my dog and take possession of my animal because of that vet! I had beat them to the punch and already contacted Kuna Pet Care Clinic for an appointment to have the dog euthinized the next morning. Once I informed animal control officer that no she wasn't going to take the dog and that I had made arrangements, the officer verified it with Kuna Vet Pet Care Clinic. And then IHS vet and animal control officer couldn't take action any further. Kuna Vet Care Clinic was extremely compassionate and helpful with the services to end the dogs life. It was a horrible experience with IHS. But this was many years ago and I'm sure that vet is no longer with IHS. Also I believe a vet like that one was a very rare vet in terms of vets aren't typically lacking compassion, treating animal owners like they are animal abusers. Vets usually aren't demanding and controlling either. I think it was a isolated experience. I don't believe IHS would ever have another vet similar to that one. I definitely highly recommend IHS. More than I would other vets and vet hospitals such as West Vet. They have horrible reviews.

With such short notice, I was afraid we would have to cancel the flight, so started calling vet clinics, including one who had seen Sadie before, and kept being told "We don't do that" (give health certs for flights). Finally, All Valley Pet Clinic on Emerald was recommended. I called them and they fit her in the next morning. We were greeted warmly and Sadie was examined by the vet tech, then the vet. Both were very friendly and handled Sadie gently and efficiently. She got 3 vaccinations and a health certificate, as well as flea/tick and heart worm preventatives (recommended especially since the southeastern states are known to have many of the creatures that cause issues for pets.) From start to finish, it was a very pleasant experience and I left feeling happy and relieved that we could make our flight the next day. I very much recommend this friendly, welcoming, and professional pet clinic. Go there - you will be glad you did!

The receptionist made it very clear that was not the case and gave us a lesson on how they do not take walk ins in an extremely rude and dismissive manner. Despite us having an emergency, not once did she give a suggestion of somewhere else to go. The receptionist made it very clear she does not prioritize animal's health and it seems to matter more to her to make people feel stupid and incompetent. I did not get her name but wish I had. After reading more reviews about a terrible receptionist, I can only imagine it is the same woman. She needs a lesson on customer service and just plain human decency. She should be ashamed of herself.

I've come here a few times and I have been happy with the quality of service. They are a little pricey but they seemed to be open to give approx quotes over the phone which I appreciated. I'm not 100% about this, but it appeared as though one of their exam rooms had an alternate, private exit. I think some vets are starting to implement this for families that have to put their animal down and don't want to walk through the waiting room in front of other people after the procedure is done. I'm not certain if this is actually a thing, but maybe ask them because if it is, I think it's a nice and thoughtful touch.

Although we missed out on the dog we wanted to adopt originally, by a mere 10 minutes, we found another dog, Miss Bean who was 14 years old and in pretty bad condition. We knew that we just had to have her and at first we had some poor and miscommunications with the staff; however, Emily stepped in and helped us with getting Miiss Bean (now known as Angel) to us. She was on medical hold for a few weeks but Dr. Sauer poored a lot of compassion and care in conducting 2 major surgeries on her. Overall, we are very happy with how everything turned out and are grateful to the staff and the volunteers who work there, as it can't be easy watching the mass numbers of animals that are turned in or brought in to them on a daily basis. God bless West Valley Humane Society. BTW, Angel has a long road ahead as we just found out she has an enlarged heart, fluid around her heart and lungs and a collapsing trachea, but her vet is confident that with proper treatments and care, she will do fine. She is an absolute joy and is doing very well and is vey energetic, for a 14 yo who just went through all that she has gone through. We will love and care for this little one and give her the comfort and peace she deserves.
