After that an employee came around every so often to check in and see if we needed anything else. We tried a total of six beers and i enjoyed all of them. Love it here! I live within walking distance to Boxing Bear tramway & have made this my family's 'local spot'. Weeknights are more chill, weekends get pretty busy- but are never over the top. Location is dog friendly- so if your pups are well behaved they are welcome in the restaurant. The restaurant doesn't serve food, but there are a few restaurants in the shopping center-or you can bring your own snacks/meal. The location is really kid friendly. Both the women's & mens bathroom have a changing table available. It may seem small, but my husband & I are really thankful they have a changing table for him to use- many breweries only offer one in the women's restroom. & of course- they serve great beer! As far as an everyday beer I like their Pilsner. The fact that they offer 10oz pours is great too. 100% would recommend! read more

Non existence service. I walked in and didn't see any staff. Waited around at the bar for someone to show up. Left empty handed. I know mid day might be slow or staff might be busy but there was NO sort of acknowledgement of a customer. No "Hi, we will be right with you". No "Have a seat and I'll check back in a few." A Dog friendly tap room!? Sign us up. We brought our puppy with us after a hike, and instead of sitting on the cold patio that day, we sat inside with the other humans and pups. This was our first trip to Boxing Bear Bridges and we really enjoyed the space. Plenty of room for any size group. No food is served, but guests can order Thai or Tacos next door. We noticed guests bringing their buzzers in, ordering beer and then going to pick up their food. Tacos, Thai, and Paletas are all steps away. The beer was on point. We tried four. You can't go wrong with Boxing Bear Brewing. The drinks are always consistent between locations, ambiance is wonderful with a large patio and indoor seating area, and the service is great. What I like about this area is how close it is to other places, want to get paletas, tacos, etc? All right around the corner. Went to Boxing Bear on Sunday around 4:30. This was my first time there. I am not a big beer drinker. Appreciated that they had some wine to choose from...the only negative is they chill the red wine. We ordered from the Taco menu. There is Thai and Pizza to choose from as well. The Nachos were excellent. We also thought the fish tacos were very good. Certainly , a nice selection is available even for the vegetarians. Want to try Thai next time. We were one of four teams playing Trivia with Matt. Surprised that there weren't more teams. Didn't see anything advertising Trivia from 5 to 7 on Sundays. I've never reviewed this? I have been at least a dozen times! For shame. Ok well for starters, they have a great patio which is now covered, so you can be out there in almost any season (not much you can do about wind or extreme temps except...go inside?) They definitely allow dogs outside, haven't tried inside but other reviews indicate dogs are permitted inside as well. Their location is also ideal, as they are close to a couple of good restaurants that offer take out, so you can bring your meal over and have a drink. Boxing Bear typically has one cider and that is the only gluten-free option (besides sodas) on offer, so I would give them that fifth star if they just had another couple non-beer alcoholic options! read more

I came on a Thursday evening with 2 other friends. The parking lot was FULL and so was their patio. We went inside and found several empty tables, but a sign asks patrons to go to the bar first, start a tab, and then get a seat - so we did as instructed. The beer selection is on a board on the wall, along with IBU and ABV values, which is much appreciated. Beer prices are also listed - but here is the thing, there are several sizes to choose. One person in our party had 2 of the same beers, same sizes, and got charged two different prices. He paid cash instead of doing a tab, and just let it go instead of challenging the approx. $2 difference. Food can be brought in from Tako Ten next door, and probably from other local eateries too - not sure. Many people were bringing in bagged foods. I don't know if it's the location, the juxtaposition of this brewery to Tako Ten, or something else, but people sure love this location. Me, I would stop again but I would not make it a weekly kind of thing. read more

This is truly a review based on how this brewery treats families. If we go with just friends. It's fine. Beer is ok. If we go with our friends + our kids, we always have high hopes because the location has great food and dessert options for our kids! Who doesn't love to hang with family friends with a beer and let our kids have ice cream ? BUT- 3 different occasions now, we have been treated horribly by staff/ witnessed other families also receive the same treatment because they had their children there. Absolutely disgusting hygiene. Regardless of the pandemic, I was shocked to see employees slobbering all over their personal cups/drinking vessels right beside where they place the food onto trays for people to eat. In regards to the pandemic, most of the bar-backs half-way wear masks (rendering them useless) and one employee didn't wear one at all during my time there. Marble and La Cumbre have their employees wearing masks properly at all times, why can't this place? Also, the beer isn't on par with what it used to be, however the lack of hygiene here is inexcusable. read more

My mom had seen this in the paper last week and we thought that this was even an activity she could enjoy. We got there right at 12, just as other patrons were starting to taper in. The sign on the door indicated they would reach capacity by 2 pm. The limited menu consisted of nachos, corn chip pie, giant pretzels, and several different kinds of pizza. I got a sample of the chocolate milk stout and my dad the Straight 8 stout, both of which had good flavor and not overly sweet. We didn't have to sit out on the patio long, enjoying the view of the Sandias and the bicyclists, before a hot and probably one of the best three meat pizzas we've had in a long time came out of the oven. One of the young servers (maybe a manager) stopped by the tables periodically to check on everyone and make a few jokes. Definitely don't make the same mistake we did and not get the pizza without green chile (due to mask-wearing corona season couldn't quite hear what the extra price would be to add) . We'll be back! Boxing Bear makes some really great beers, but let's be honest: there is plenty of really good beer in Albuquerque. What made my visit (and all the subsequent ones after) exemplary was the service. Of note and specific reference, Victoria. I had an oddly specific question about the hops in one of the beers and rather than give an irritated dismissal, she went and looked it up and continued to chat with me about hops, music, and the different ways to cut and customize your shirts. I walked out of there spending way more money than the pint I had originally stopped in for (thanks for the BBA recs!) and after a solid 4pack recommendation, my devout Miller Lite guzzling husband has a brewery he actually enjoys stopping in with me. She is affable in her knowledge, casually enthusiastic, and just freaking rad to hold a conversation with. As a retired bar and tasting room manager, protect her at all costs. I have been to the boxing bear on candelaria and tramway a few times. Boxing bear has really good beer. They do have a samplers of the beer. I put a picture of the chalkboard of all the different beers that they brew. So give boxing bear brewing a try on candelaria and tramway. It is very clean inside the lobby. I selected 1 star because the yelp app forced me to, should be 0 stars. Our party size was 6 adults (ages 30-82), including my recently widowed grandmother, and two children (ages 5-7). Boxing Bear has indoor tables up to 6 seats. On a hot 100 degree summer day, the indoor seating was largely taken. Because BB ownership decided to have numerous 4 top tables, for our party of 8, we moved two tables together so we could enjoy the company of family after my grandmother just lost her husband of 62 years. We spent over 2.5 hrs there, purchasing beer, soda, and food from the near-by small businesses (BB doesn't have there own food, which is an issue in itself) to support our local economy. Unfortunately, we were told we had to leave due to the 'new rule' of now allowing the smaller tables in the back room to be moved. Won't be going there ever again due to the insensitive and ridiculous rules of the BB ownership and management. read more

It was our first time to the Juan Tabo location. We really enjoyed sitting out on the patio as it was a beautiful day and the outdoor patio is very spacious! The down side of their patio is that it is not covered so if it's raining out no one will be able to use it. Also, part of the outdoor is not protected from the sun until late in the afternoon. The beer was delicious! I tried 2 IPAs and both were excellent! My husband had their milk stout which he also said was excellent! We didn't have any food but saw a pretzel being served. I'm town after a couple of years and decided to check out the new location. We were happily impressed. We ordered the Nachos (half order), their cider and an Uppercut IPA. All was delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. The decor is nice and the music was good. Lots of TVs for the size of the place. When we come back into town we will be back! read more
