    Time for a cold one!

Excellent beer. Excellent food. This was my first time here so I tried a beer flight first. Ended up getting a pint of the Marzen which was delicious. The beers I tried were all very well balanced and flavored. The sandwich I had was very good. The vegetables were crisp and fresh and the bread seemed homemade. It was light and flavorful. I'm disappointed that it took me this long to come here - I feel like Ive been missing out for a long time. The service was great and the music is good. The tables are open and the place is welcoming. I would definitely recommend coming here for a good beer and some good food.

If this isn't a neighborhood bar(brewery), I don't know what is! It is definitely off the beaten path. I've driven by Boese Bros a few times and decided to stop in to try it one night. Got there around 9pm and it was not crowded. Hmm. Turns out that they have a lot of their business closer to normal lunch and dinner times because many of their customers live in that neighborhood. It isn't exactly the kind of place that gets a lot of drive-by business. However, through word-of-mouth, and of course Yelp, I'm sure it won't stay a neighborhood secret for long. The waitress was sweet and happy to explain the drink menu to us. I liked that they had flights of four 4oz drinks you could order to get a true sample of their choices. My dinner companion and I split that so we had two each. I got the Apple Cider and the Cherry Sour Ale. My companion got Tru Blu Pilsner and the Duke City Lager. The ale really was very tart. The Apple Cider tasted like champagne, as the waitress explained. I like champagne and I preferred the cider over the ale. My companion enjoyed both of his drinks. They had a pretty large food menu for a brew pub. I ordered the tuna melt. On the sandwich was cheddar cheese, onion and tomato and it was served on sourdough. It came with chips and a pickle. Everything about the sandwich sounded perfect to my taste, but I don't think I'll order it again. The tuna was just a bit fishy for my taste. I know that sounds odd, but it wasn't a flavor I was used to and I've had my share of tuna melts since it is my favorite sandwich. On the other hand, my companion ordered the Reuben and he thought it was exceptional. So no problem, I'll definitely go back again. I'll just order something different and with all the choices, I'm certain to find some favorites. I love businesses that are local and there was a very comfortable vib to this place.

I'm calling it. This place is going to outgrow this spot in record time. If opening night is any indication, they are going to do very, very well here. We stopped in on opening day (11/30) thinking that most folks may not know that this little gem had opened. Well, we were very, very wrong- this place was PACKED. Despite it being opening day and being literal butts to elbows, the service was great and somehow managing it. Great servers with great attitudes. Now, we have never actually been to Boese Bros or Desert Dogs but have heard good things about them. There's a lot of breweries in ABQ these days. There's a lot of awesome breweries, even. I'm happy to report that Boese is pretty darn solid and can hold it's own. The beers are actually memorable for the quality. Nothing too weird, just solid brews. The ciders from DD are pretty awesome as well and I'm a cider snob. Not too sweet, high octane- just the way I like them. I have a theory that you have to start with a place's pilsner- if it's good then it's a good indicator the rest will be. If it's bad, well, the rest is a crap shoot. The pilsner, my friends, is excellent. So is the IPA. And the mango cider too even though I fully recognize that sounds weird and disgusting (which is precisely why I tried it). It's DELICIOUS and I was pleasantly surprised. These guys tapped into (pardon the pun) a major need up in the heights/foothills area. There is absolutely no breweries up here. Marble NE is great but having some variety in the rotation nearby is desperately needed and even still, it's a bit of a drive away. Next closest is Canteen on Cloudview and I think Star Bros. Neither of which are particularly close. Another bonus? They got food. Sammys and such but those are some darn good sandwiches. My boo got the chicken club and I tried a tasty bite...er...3. Nom nom nom. So, giver 'er a try and I promise you'll be back. Welcome to the 'hood, Brahs!!!

    Blueberry sour and hazy beer

Great little place with friendly, attentive staff. Beer was excellent - we had the blueberry sour and hazy beer. Food was also fantastic - we had the soft pretzel (which comes with a really nice cheese dip and mustard sauce) and green Chile grilled cheese. All staff members were wearing masks, checked on us frequently to make sure we were happy, and brought out our beers quick!

    German night: Bierbrezn & Pilsener

Many other breweries in town use cheap hops and lots of it, just to speed up the brewing process. That in turn makes beers taste bitter and extremely hoppy. This is not the case for Böse Bros. Böse Bros intend to cover a broad variety of different taste with just a few different selections, from a very light Mexican Lager via Pilsener, Ales and Stouts to IPA. A few ciders are there as well. I tried a few of them and must say that especially the Pilsener (Tru Blu) and dark Lager (Duke City) are very good. The Mexican Lager was a little too sweet for my taste. But, I've seen many women ordering it. And, even the food is great for a pub. Overall, I was/am very satisfied with the quality and taste of the beers. Being German, I know what I'm talking about ;)

This is a cute little gem, Great sandwich, cider on point and the most amazing view. The art on the wall is fun and tasteful. There is not Much in the Sandia Heights to see or Or places to eat so this is a great little spot for all your needs. Food, drinks and a great view. Ginger and mango cider it's where it's at.

Welcome to the NE Heights, Boese Bros! Your delicious brews -- including a few fine IPAs and a magnificent cherry wood-aged porter -- and several cider choices, along with a great selection of tasty sandwiches make me a happy Yelper! Top that off with friendly, knowledgeable servers and you have a recipe for a successful addition to ABQ's effervescent craft beer scene. Swing by for a beer or three and enjoy the mellow vibe and stellar view of our majestic Sandia Mountains. Cheers!

A great spot in an area of town that is missing having breweries. The beer is great, my favorite is the duke city lager and cherry sour. They have an awesome sandwich menu as well with the best Rueben you will find in town.

All staff were very nice and kind. Even with a small selection of beer, their choices are solid with lager, red ale, stout, IPA, a rich Scotch ale, some ciders, and some seasonal picks. For our food, we ordered The King's Fish and Chips (half) and the Brewer's Beef. The King's Fish and Chips had a big piece of fried salmon that flavorful with a nice crunchy breading. On the other hand, the Brewer's beef was scant in roast beef and plentiful with grilled onions and a sharp horseradish. While the King's was wonderful, the Brewer's was unfortunate. Overall, this was a mixed experience with one good and one not-so-good experience at a place that is inviting and fun.
