Boyles has in West Chester forever... I pass their shop almost every day. I decided to stop in and get some estimates on a small project. Everyone is very nice. I asked for an approximate estimate based upon measurements.. I received an estimate over the telephone ...then I received a second estimate a day later that was about 15% higher...I was told...don't worry we'll come out to your house in person and show you some more reasonable alternatives... after this was all done. I received an estimate that was 100% more than my first estimate. Owner refuses to pay for water line damage caused by their crew. Response below to an unprofessional email received from the companies owner about repair invoice submitted and they refuse to pay. Please inform your owner that Joe and his son did indeed damage our water line by jamming it up against cabinet during demo. They fully admitted to their negligence and although the copper tubing was kinked in multiple places they only "repaired" one section. The repair failed and a puddle of water damaged our new trim. It was found by the painter. Your contractor's negligence is somehow our issue even though they admitted to it? What kind a crappy business model is this? As far as cost. It is what our plumber charged and we did not HULK SMASH our own stuff. Personally I think getting a quote on flooring and then getting hit with an additional $800 in demo was RIDICULOUS but did I bitch and moan. No, I paid for the work performed. read more

Boyles is the best. From Nancy's professional advice and knowledge in picking out our dining room hardwood floor to Joey installing it so perfectly, it was a job well done. We also had wood plank vinyl flooring, also recommended by Nancy and installed by Horace for our screened in porch. The work ethic was amazing. From 8am to 6pm he did not stop until every plank was in place. He would not quit until the job was perfect and according to his standards. I would totally recommend this company. read more

In installing carpeting on hall stairs and second floor hallway, the workers severely damaged newly painted railings, doorways and walls. The installers did not care that they had caused such damage. The owner also had no concern about the damage done and merely suggested a minor reduction in the cost. This company is in no way professional. The repairs were extensive. read more

I love how my floors look! I had Boyle's refinish the hardwood floors in my living room, dining room and foyer, sanding them down to the bare wood and staining them in a new color. Everyone I worked with has been courteous and professional. Adam was very accommodating in scheduling the job and called early the second day to check in and make sure everything was to my satisfaction. Carlos and his crew did a great job. They moved the furniture and carefully taped plastic sheeting to minimize the sawdust that inevitably finds its way beyond the floors that are being sanded. They were quick and efficient and thoroughly vacuumed and wiped down the baseboards, window sills, walls and anyplace else that sawdust landed. I would definitely recommend Boyle's and plan to work with them for new carpeting. read more

I went to Boyle's on Small Business Saturday in November. They installed my carpet in December and I remain certain they installed the incorrect colored carpet. Dealing with the staff/owner was a truly horrible, unprofessional, and aggressive experience. They said they'd look into it, never did (they said months later my voicemail was full when they attempted to call me?), and then began harassing me for the rest of the payment-despite never solving the issue I had presented to them. I ALWAYS try to support local businesses, but I would truly advise you to go anywhere BUT Boyle's carpet if you're local to the West Chester area. read more

I was very disappointed with my experience with Boyle's. The "designer" that came to my home seemed inexperienced and did not follow up. When she did, I was brought samples that in no way were appropriate with my cabinetry. I felt that they did not want my business for a new kitchen floor. read more

We never got past the estimate stage. Chuck D. came out to do an estimate for window treatments for the family room. He didn't bring any samples or catalogs or anything. I wanted something that would allow light in most of the time while providing privacy, and could also switch to room darkening to reduce glare on the television. He basically had no options. I mentioned something I'd seen on Hunter Douglas' site. He said that could work, said he'd take some measurements and get back to me. He confirmed my email address before leaving. Almost a week later, I get a voicemail from him saying the email didn't work. I responded via their website. A day later, I got an email from a different employee with the estimate. The estimate was two lines long, had the wrong email address, and the wrong shades. Needless to say, we're going with someone else. read more

Not a great experience and ran into a bunch of issues ranging from poor communication to errors on colors. Overall, did not treat me like a valued customer when we ran into these issues, treated us like we did everything wrong. We have done a great deal of business with them in the past, including multiple referrals so we were very disappointed how our last engagement transpired and are no longer a customer. read more

Jackie assured me when they put hardwood on my steps that they do these jobs all the time and it was no problem matching the hallway floor. The total job was very expensive and the stain and finish did not match at all. They offered to fix it for $95 but I lost confidence in the business. If you decide to have your stairs done, make sure you ask them for a sample before you spend the money. read more

The initial service offered in the showroom and estimate to tile my shower/tub area was OK (otherwise this review would have been a one star!). I bought the tile from them and signed up for tile installation. However, the installation was hurried and unprofessionally done. It looked just like it was installed.....piecemeal! Skinny tiles were used in the corners and where the wall meets the tub. With careful, professional planning, less than full tiles need not be skinny and typically are at least a half tile. I was told by the installer that, yes it doesn't look great but sometimes it works out that way. He said the grout would make it better and mostly unnoticeable. I immediately called the owner who estimated the job and complained. He basically said the job was done right and wouldn't come out to look at it. After much wrangling, he finally said he wasn't going to take it down, I could do so if I wanted. He backed away from the whole thing and kept the 1/2 cost deposit I had put down. I wound up taking all the tile down myself (one tough job) and resurfacing the backer board with thin set mortar and retiling correctly. I spent a lot of time and energy (I am a 71 yr. old do-it-yourselfer) removing the old wallboard and the old tile and putting up new walls of Hardie board and getting the surface ready to tile only to have this terrible installation. I had opted to let someone else install the tile because of other things going on. However, I wasn't going have the end result of all my efforts looking like that and having to see it day after day. I hope you will consider long and hard before using this company for any tile job. read more

After I looked all over the area for a company that would recarpet an older motorhome, I found out about Boyle's. My wife and have a 13 year old Winnebago 40' diesel pusher. The mechanics of the RV are in great shape but the inside needed some rework. We reupholstered the coach and bought a new recliner but the old carpet looked terrible. Vince gave us a GREAT quote and Bill did the installation and we couldn't be happier. We had checked with places in Florida and Winnebago in Indiana. The price was ridiculous and both places needed to keep the RV for two weeks. BIll did it in two days. I highly recommend them to other RV owners who are looking for this kind of work. I've been patronizing Boyles for over 25 plus years. They were first recommended to me by my uncle who used them for all his work. He was a premier home builder for decades in the 60's to 90's. Jacqi, Chuck, and all the staff are quite knowledgeable and helpful. Ive had numerous jobs completed. Including: laminated flooring in 3 rooms, carpet throughout my home, and more recently Huntington blinds. The real key is the installers. I believe they work direct for the shop as Ive had the same guys numerous times. They do very good work. Jacqi helped me out of a timely situation when I was selling my home. Really came through for me. I like giving my business to local businesses. Not the big box shops where no one knows you and service is poor. I would like to see Boyle's have more evening or weekend hours. I find it very difficult to get there working fulltime. But otherwise, as indicated, very pleased and long time customer. read more
