I would not recommend using Allure in Philadelphia owned by Roi Albo. I have had nothing but trouble since we started this process. Michael Halpern came out and measured my windows and said he would get back to me with a quote. A week later, he still did not get back to me with a quote. I had to follow up with the company several times to get a quote. This should've been my first sign. After signing the contract, Michael told me I would receive my shades in 4 to 5 weeks. After nine weeks, the shades were not ready. I had to follow up with the company multiple times to find out when my shades were coming in. They were full of excuses. Finally, they scheduled a day for install after me calling many times. When the shades arrived, four of the seven shades I ordered were measured wrong and could not be hung. I called and they said they would call me later in the day to explain how they would fix the situation. 2 days later I still did not receive a phone call. After I called them and they returned days later to install the shades that were measured wrong, there were still many issues. They did not supply me with the proper amount of remotes. They did not provide a bottom track for one of my shades. There were nails showing on the frames of the shades that were supposed to have caps on them. The day after the shade was installed the chain to open the shade broke. Finally, they came back to fix the chain and it still does not work. They brought a piece of trim that belongs a floor and tried to install that on the bottom of my window. I'm not sure that the owner, Roi Albo, would have that in his house. I asked him to come to my house to look at the windows that and he will not schedule a time. I still do not have the bottom rail to one of my shades. I also still do not have the proper remote. One shade will not open because the chain is faulty. I would not recommend this company to anyone and cannot possibly understand how they can run a business like this. We recently got roman shades from Allure and are disappointed in the product for the cost. We were expecting to be able to lift the shades up and down after our consultation but there's a string and ring to pull which wasn't what we understood we were ordering. They had mentioned we'd see the strings through sheer fabrics which was fine with us but also claimed they mentioned holes being common in the fabric as well. I didn't see any mention of holes in the communications. The folds don't lay right when they're up and the mounting mechanism that was used on a door looks very cheap because it's bent down. Allure couldn't even steam them after installation. There's dirt marks maybe from install. The one on the door we're actually concerned it might fall off...it's very flimsy and the brackets are bent. The shades all pucker at the top instead of being a clean line across which maybe was due to install as well but just poor quality and when I reached out with questions I got no response. read more

Ilyse worked with me to figure out what I wanted and select the shades to meet my needs. She took all the measurements and I placed my order with her. Once the order was placed I did have to wait longer than expected for installation. But that was a minor inconvenience. We have a set of large sliding doors in our newly renovated kitchen and really struggled with what type of style to go with. The designer that came out gave great advice about what would meet our needs (minimal, privacy, ability to still utilize our full height of The doors). It wasn't what I was originally looking at style wise, but it ended up looking even better than I could have hoped once installed. They really know their products and how they will work. In less then two years, one of three window treatments was not working properly. This was not due to Allure but the manufacturer. Allure immediately stepped up and provided me temporary window cover while returning the damaged t"op down shade" to be repaired. I did not write a review because I felt they were simply doing their job. However, the same darn shade broke again. This time, Allure not only took it back, gave me temporary cover, but demanded the shade company rework the entire shade. I'm hopeful this is the last time this particular shade acts up. We had purchased a blind from Allure 10 years ago. It worked beautifully but eventually broke. One quick phone call to Allure and they explained what it would cost to fix it. So I've come to realize that window shades are just expensive no matter where you go. I considered all my options, and decided I was willing to spend more and have a professional do it rather than try to measure windows myself, purchase them from blinds to go and then have someone install them. All in all, the prices at Allure are comparable to other places in the city. The owner, Roi, came and gave me a free estimate. He was able to provide good advice on what I should get, what colors looked the best, and cheaper options. The blinds came in and were installed and about 2 weeks and look amazing. Shades are expensive, however, some places more so than others, and this place is overpriced for custom fabric shades. The owners seemed nice, so this is not a critique of their service, just one person's insight into pricing and how to do better. I went in to get some ideas and estimates for roman shades, cafe curtains, and drapes. Roman shades are among the most expensive window treatments out there. I knew this going in, and was not looking for a bargain but a well made product and a good workroom that can do the job right. The woman who was helping me knew very little about the products and options. Luckily, one of the guys who runs the place dove in after about 20 minutes. (I wish he had sooner as it was a bit of a waste of my time.) He was genuinely helpful and very nice to deal with. Ultimately, I decided to go elsewhere because of such a huge difference in price. Here is the breakdown: Three custom made, roman shades made of the exact same fabric, same fabric manufacturer, handmade locally, both places come to your home to measure, recommend what fabrics are or are not good for your type of shade construction, and both places come to your home to install. Allure price - approximate: $700 per window 4th street - approximate: $300 per window If you want to take my lead, you can find the same fabrics at B. Wilkes on 4th Street. And take your fabric to John's Drapery on 4th Street. (See my reviews for both.) I really believe this is an apples to apples comparison as both places will come to your house to measure and install, and the work is done locally with seemed to be the same internal mechanisms. The only difference is one place calls themselves a full service design firm and the others do not. Allure has a sleek designer show room, the other places do not. Allure seemed to have good customer service, the other places seem to as well. The other people shopping at Allure when I was there were homeowners. The other customers on 4th street were interior designers. I would assume that Allure does plenty of business with designers as well and it might just be that I was not in at the time when they were there. But it did say something to me to go to the 4th street location, not be dazzled by large screen TVs and sleek sofas, and see industry folks ordering their blinds and draperies. *** PS - I just saw the response below from the owner and think it is very tactful and polite. Allure is wonderful upfront with installation and options for window treatments. We were introduced to them by our architect and had blinds installed in several rooms. Their sales team is professional and easy to work with, and the installation went well, which made the relatively high price seem worth it. That changed when we had problems with two of our shades, which began not long after installation and gradually got worse over time. They charge a technician fee to repair the blinds that were under warranty, which would have been fine with us had they actually been fixed. After three attempts, one was still not working and was damaged in the repair process. Even more disappointing, they sent teams back twice to reinstall blinds that hadn't been fixed, wasting their time and our time since we had to rearrange our workdays to meet them. On the final attempt, the repair person was unprofessional. In trying to address the matter, the office staff attempted to shift blame and avoid responsibility. We were very disappointed. We know that honeycomb blinds can be problematic but if they are going to sell them, they should stand by the product and ensure that the manufacturer fixes problems under warranty. We certainly won't bring Allure any work in the future, and will let our architect know of their failure to remedy issues when the product they sell fails. read more

Having mostly Pella windows with slim shades between the panes of glass throughout my house, I had never before purchased window treatments. Allure provided an excellent tutorial on all products available. Michael, the design consultant was a little skeptical with my choice of color, as was Paul, the installer but I think both agree that the finished look is spectacular. Used Allure last May for all of the window treatments for our new home - couldn't have been happier with the service from the moment we called, through the selection process (great recommendations!), installation and follow up. Had a problem with one of the blinds about a month after installation and Allure replaced that blind with no question or issue. Then, last week, a contractor knocked down our largest blinds. Allure sent out their service team - Paul and Harel - that same day (incredible service!!). We recently purchased an 11ft custom blackout shade from Allure to close off some large windows in our nursery and the process went perfectly. Our ceilings are high and the shade sits about 10 ft up the wall. Corded or pull down shades would be impossible for the space so we went with the PowerView option with remote (and eventually added on the PowerView Hub for iPhone integration). We stopped into Allure on 3rd street and setup a meeting for someone to come out and review the setup. Michael stopped by a few days later to go over our options and measure the space. After placing the order, the shade came in a few weeks before expected, and was installed without issue. Everything looks great and we would use Allure again when we eventually close off the other side of the room. read more

I think they have a good product but there were a few glitches in placing the order and failure to explain the impact on opening my tilt in windows. They did rectify the issue with a refund of some of the costs, but still informing me at the beginning would have been the right thing to do. I have been using Allure for all my window treatments in my new construction town home. I love their different fabrics and the Hunter Douglas warranty. Allure has always has great customer service and has treated me as an important customer even after a few years of my initial purchase. More recently, Hunter Douglas replaced a blind but sent a completely different yet similar material blind in its place - huge problem with 4 other blinds right next to it. Allure negotiated with Hunter Douglas and got the proper blinds sent. I didn't have to do a thing. Now that is awesome customer service! read more

We contacted Allure recently when we moved into a new apartment that had some power blinds installed, but which appeared not to be working and had no remote to operate them with. It turned out they had done the original install of these blinds a few years back, and they were happy to send a team to check out the setup and get the blinds working again. We've used Allure twice: for roller shade and blind installations in our rental loft and our home. They've done excellent jobs at both properties and our very recent experience with Allure at our new house was just great. Our new house is a unique property that is a mix of very old and very contemporary design. Allure's designer Sigita came out and spent over an hour with us measuring and suggesting installations that were different from what we had envisioned...and I'm so glad that we took her advice. Allure had our order manufactured and ready to install in about three weeks which is less time than we had expected. Their installers arrived on time today, worked quickly and quietly while we worked at home and we're finished with a multi room installation in less than two hours. The blinds that Sigita suggested for our bedroom look like they were custom designed for it and they are out of the catalog stock blinds. The roller shades in our living room are also perfect and basically disappear into the frames when fully retracted. We are extremely pleased with the products and services we got from this company. They sent a rep (Sagita) to our condo building, who really listened to us and was very helpful about choosing materials, colors and details about installations. We had them install Luminette's across our big 3-window balcony windows, and in vertical blinds in both bedroom windows. We visited the Allure showroom in Old City before a play at the Arden Theater one night, and found a wide variety of window treatments and very helpful staff. We scheduled a home visit and Sigita brought us several of the items we had looked at in the showroom. She measured our windows, sent us quotes for several options, and from there it went smoothly to a quick and easy install. We were very impressed with the professionalism of the entire Allure staff and love our new blinds. The only problem is the cat is mystified as to how the blinds go up and down with no one near them!
