Several years ago, Bob Wagner updated our whole house with hardwood flooring. It's still looks like new. When we heard they also did home remodeling, we called them for a quote to completely gut and refurbish our guest bath. Their quote was very competitive for the quality of fixtures they offered. We selected the fixtures from their showroom in West Chester and scheduled the install. It took a little longer to get what we wanted, but the work was finished in just three days. After spending over $4,000 on carpet for the Master Bedroom the seam that was placed in the middle of the room wasn't installed properly allowing it to be very noticeable. After being told to let the carpet relax for 90days on 2 separate occasions nothing changed. When a service tech finally came out to inspect it, he said the installation was not up to par. But I still had to wait for it to relax. After waiting 6 months the Customer Service manager, who doesn't even come out to inspect the work, concluded that it wasn't an issue they are willing to fix. Very unhappy with the customer service and do not recommend at all!! read more

When my spouse decided she wanted to tear out all of the carpet in our home and replace it with hardwood AND also refinish all of our existing hardwood floors at the same time, I was hesitant not only for the cost but for the disruption to our lives such a large project would cause. We're a family of five plus pets so we knew it would be a challenge to live in the house while the work was being done. Fast forward to project completion and I simply can't say enough positive things about our recent experience with Wagner's. From start to finish Matt and his team (Rob, Steve, John, Tom and Christiano) were amazing. The showroom is stocked with tons of samples to look at and Matt made choosing colors and flooring easy. While the work was going on they treated our home with respect, as if they were doing work in their own houses. From moving out our furniture to keeping our home safe while we were out during the day, we simply felt no need to worry a bit. The attention to detail they showed left us with a beautifully completed hard wood flooring installation and refinishing. Near the end of the job my wife commented that the floors looked so good she didn't want to put any of our furniture back! Obviously we did and the new floors look so good they could be in a home decor magazine. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to both recommend you use Wagner's yourself and we would absolutely use them again if we need to in the future in our home. read more

We have been looking for a very specific flooring for our bedroom for years. Bob Wagner's posted a photo of exactly what we have been looking for on their Instagram account. We contacted them and we had a sample within a couple of days to see if would like it in person. And we did! We were not only wanting new flooring but also in floor heat and Bob Wagner's was able to identify the best product to use with the flooring we wanted. PLUS we wanted to put new redo the mantle and put in tile. The install went great. First day was tear down and tile for the mantle. Second day was putting down the in floor heat. And third day was the flooring. All of Bob Wagner's employees all wore masks in our presence and were courteous and professional. And the end result is beyond amazing. Do not have Bob Wagners install any tile in your homes! They leave lippage all over the place, tiles aren't flush, seems like they do not know how to use a level. The only installer I would have from this company would be Stan. He showed professionalism and integrity and gave reasons why certain things happened during the initial install. Other employees and higher ups didn't have what seemed to be anywhere the experience Stan had. I was told numerous times certain things "were within industry standards" but they looked awful and had no integrity!!! Do not have them install in your home! read more

We were told the only thing we needed to move was our bed because it's a sleep number and all items that were fragile . They showed up today and are making my husband leave work to move all the furniture out of the rooms himself ! They were also extremely rude to my daughter . We had Bob Wagner's refinish the wood floors in our 1860's era home. They did a beautiful job and brought the pumpkin pine back to life. Since they did such a good job on the floor refinishing, we decided to move forward and have them re-carpet two bedrooms and lay vinyl flooring in the kitchen. This was one of many problems and yes WE resolved them with our own money. Little to no help from you and our builder. You resolved them in your mind but left us hanging. We will also never forgive your company for charging us over 800 dollars for 12 times that were but somehow weren't in your quote. This proves that the problems started in 12 you had them "resolved " in 13. Even if that were true it took a year. read more

I went to the showroom. The Sales Professional pointed me to several brands of flooring. Then she took a phone call. After she was finished with the call, she finally came to help me. Not much discussion as to age of house, etc. other than I was redoing the floor in a rental. I finally was able to pick out a floor. When the Estimator came, she was very unprofessional. She came at the last minute of our appointment time. Her first question was, "What type of floor are you getting?" Don't these people communicate with each other? She started dancing about, waving her hands saying the floor has bumps and waves so I need something that bends. The Sales Professional could have discussed this with me in the showroom. Then she checked the baseboard for lead paint. Its an old house, I was not surprised to find it has lead paint. The Estimator called the Sales Professional so the Sales Professional could explain what had to be done. Couldn't the Sales Professional have discussed the possibility when I was in the showroom? And why wasn't the Estimator knowledgeable enought to explain things? I told the Sales Professional to forget the job. I asked the Estimator to leave. Such a waste of my time. These are not professional people. read more

This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I would not suggest this company to anyone. There is no communication or organization at this branch and no attention to detail. Our first visit to the store, we had a great experience with a salesman who I believe was named Brad - he was very friendly and helpful and gave us some good ideas about what we were looking for in our price range. When we went back, the woman helping us was not as helpful and tried to get us to buy something way out of our price range. When we asked if she had anything below the one that was $13/square foot of carpet, she immediately showed us one that was $2/square foot and said it was a bad carpet and said they had nothing in between. When we finally decided on all of our choices for 3 bedrooms and a full finished basement of carpet as well as an entry-way of a vinyl slab piece, it took us almost a full week to get a quote after the measurements were taken. I called 4 times asking about getting a quote and was told that no one could get me the quote except our salesperson because it was on her iPad - apparently no one else could access the information. My husband physically went into the store twice to get the quote from them and once our salesperson wasn't there, and the other time she was with another customer and he stood there for 15 min without being helped and left. When we finally got the quote, she had forgotten that she had told us we would get a free install deal and had forgotten that we had said we didn't need the expensive padding in all bedrooms and we had to re-do the quote twice. When we finally committed to the quote, we didn't hear back for almost a week about when it would be in and when it could be installed. Once we finally got a hold of them, they promised everything would be in by August 1st. It was not actually in until the 7th, and the vinyl still was not in yet and they said they would do that later. Today, they came to our house and my husband had told them 3 times we wouldn't be there but what the garage code was. They called my cell phone saying no one was home and they didn't know we wouldn't be there and weren't given the garage code. Then they call me to say they mis-ordered and were short in the basement! When I asked if they were sure the area that was short wasn't just the place where the vinyl slab was supposed to be, the man on the phone had no idea what I was talking about. It then took 4 additional weeks to finally have the vinyl piece installed where it was supposed to be and the stairs to be carpeted and had sub-floor on our stair case the entire time. Wouldn't recommend this company. This Monday, 9/11, this whole thing was finally finished and the first time we went in to the store was early July and we just needed 3 bedroom carpets and a basement carpet/vinyl piece, and all the bedroom carpets were remnants that were already in the store in July. read more

We agree with the many other Yelp negative reviews regarding Bob Wagner. It has been the worst customer service experience we have ever had and we would never suggest this company to anyone. My husband and I have never written a negative review about any company until now. For a company that has been around since 1975, one expects more. At the end of May 2018 my husband John and I noticed the hardwood floor we had installed in Nov. 2017 over concrete in our family room was buckling in numerous places. We called to report this. In June a technician came out and stated that the floor was indeed buckling and took some measurements as well as the temperature and humidity level in the room. He stated it appeared to be an environmental issue with the floor. It was noted that there was NO measure of concrete moisture taken prior to installation and that the floor was glued to the concrete. They stated that a check with the manufacturer of the wood was necessary to see if it was a problem with the product. In the middle of June no return call so John called and a message was left, but no response. We eventually received a call back but were told there was no data in the computer regarding this purchase or install and were told the sales manager would call back. Once again we did not receive a call. John called and spoke to customer service and was told that due to environmental issues all warranties are voided. John spoke to the store sales manager, Brad, and it was decided to wait 60 days to see if the buckling of the floor would go down on its own and also see if they needed to take up some flooring. We were instructed to keep an eye on the humidity level and run the air conditioning, which we did. Beginning of Sept. Brad called after the 60 day period and after several weeks of phone tag no connection was made. John's e-mail address as well as cell phone number were given in hopes of expediting contact. A message was left with Brad that the floor is now so bad that parts of it are a tripping hazard. By October tired of phone tag, Judy called and left a message again. Several days later received a call from Brad apologizing and that a work order was now going to be put in and that a technician would call to set up an appointment to inspect the floor again. Tom the technician booked an appoint Oct. 23rd at 12 noon. He stated that Brad would also be coming. The technician arrived alone 45 min. late and spent approx. 10 minutes examining the floor. John told the technician that our main concern was what Bob Wagner Flooring was going to do regarding the floor. The technician said that he would give information about the floor immediately to Brad and that we would be receive a call. Nov. 13th and still no response from Brad or customer service. We have since learned, by contacting two other flooring vendors for opinions, that the floor should have been floated, so it was improperly installed. read more

We had a great experience buying our flooring at Bob Wagner's Downingtown. We were helped by Bill and we could not be happier. We were very unsure about what we wanted. Bill had so much patience with us and never rushed us. He let us take samples home and also was never pushy to make a quick sale. We actually ended up getting the flooring he recommended, which is PERFECT. He really knows so much about flooring and was such a great help! What impressed us the most was his demeanor and as I said, his desire to allow us to really take our time. We never felt as we were a burden during our slow process that we needed to go through. Great selection and we are very happy with this last carpet replacement in our home. We have used them several times over the past 20 years. In this last transaction there was some extra time spent in communicating to get everything lined up. I believe there were some changes in personnel over the past year which may have contributed to this. Bob Wagners did nothing for me when my carpet wore out in 6 months. They do not stand behind the products they sell. Said Shaw Carpets said the carpet only needed cleaning. Stay away from Shaw Carpets as well. They also have low reviews. Wish I would have listened to the individual who told me not to use Bob Wagners Carpet Mill, Downingtown, PA. Oh yes, they did want to send a high sale pitch cleaning company, who was available the very next day, to steam clean the carpet. This guy acted like he owned my house and was telling me what to do with my carpet. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere then Bob Wagners. They use high sale pitch, big measuring numbers and try to run you. Wish I had gone elsewhere. read more

We had tile installed in our kitchen. We ordered the tile using the contractor's measurements and he told us how much to buy. Well, we ended up with more than we needed. We have 4 UNOPENED cases of tile and Bob Wagner's will NOT take them back - they said it's because they had to order the tile from a distributor - unless I'm crazy that's probably the case for most tile purchases. When I called about returning the tile I was told I couldn't so I asked for someone to call me back regarding the return. Nobody ever called. Also, their hours designated for product pick up are very inconvenient for working people. They don't want you to pick up on the weekend and their 'warehouse guys' leave at 4:00. So I guess they expect working people to take time off from work to pick up product. Not very customer oriented if you ask me. read more

On my first visit to Wagners I was quoted an unbelievably cheap price for a kitchen floor. After measurements were taken by them I waited 9 weeks before calling to ask about installation. The salesman was no longer there and they couldn't find any record of me or my order. They also told me the price would be 4 times higher. They finally installed the floor and soon thereafter the seam opened up. I called for a repair and they assured me it would be put on the list. It is now 3 months later and no return call or repair. I can't imagine how they stay in business. I should have checked Yelp beforehand. read more

Bob Wagner's is contracted with the builder who built my house. Right after the one-year warranty expired, the wall-to-wall carpet buckled dangerously throughout the first floor. They gave an estimate to fix without coming out to see the actual problem. Needless to say, their estimate was the same as new carpeting. I have to agree with the other dissatisfied reviewers about Bob Wagner's in Downingtown. When we were placing our order for floor tile, the salesperson miscalculated the amount we would need--it's lucky we caught the error before the contractor was in the middle of the job. Then we got the "I'm sure the other person you talked to explained to you ..." line about their ability to only sell by the box (no, the other person didn't explain that to us). They said they would call when the tile came in and when we didn't hear anything we called to check on the status. At first the salesperson sounded irritated that he had to check on the order and then told us it was in--it's unclear if or when he planned on letting us know. We told him we would be in for it that weekend. When we arrived for the pickup, we were told they didn't do pickups on the weekend. They won't stay in business long with that attitude toward customer service. read more
