Dishonest behavior! I split the bill with a friend for lunch there, and we both gave them our debit cards to each pay half. After I signed my receipt and included a tip, I went home and later found out they overcharged my bank account for the amounts. Apparantly it's okay to charge my card twice (once for my half of the bill plus the tip I included, and also a charge for the full bill) and not do anything to resolve the issue. Their phone system is completely screwed up and after calling for two days and reaching no one, I went back to the restaurant and showed them the charges to my bank account. They promised to look into the issue and call me back, but nothing ever happened and nobody called me. They are doing nothing to resolve the issue -- the charges are still there in my account. I now have to work with my bank to get the extra charge reversed. In the end, they charged me 3 times what I had agreed to pay. Nice going. I will not ever return to the Boynton Diner. read more

We had an awesome experience here. Came after church and was seated in open outdoor seating immediately. Staff was so friendly and quick moving. Food was delicious and super fast. My husband accidentally dropped half of our children's plate and they were so kind in bringing out another. We felt terrible but they didn't make us feel bad about it at all. We loved all three dishes ! I had the eggs Benedict with conch fritters and jalapeño hollandaise, my husband had the meatloaf and my kids shared the pastrami sandwich. My wife and I went to Boynton Diner renely usiing a save around certificate. This is an excellent diner that is in a location that is lierally on the other side of the tracks near a rail line. The restaurant itself is clean and roomy but only serves breakfast and lunch.We were seated quickly and odered two dishes a mealoaf lunch and a burger. Both of the lunches were excellent and flavorful. There is also an outdoor seating area where dogs are welcome to eat with there owners.Service was excellent and was always responsive. The price to value ratio is above average as is the portion size. This is a RECOMMENDED restaurant. On a personal note due to my unexplained removal from the Yelp elite squad this will be barring unusual cicumstances my last review for Yelp. It has been a pleasure knowing my fellow Yelpers. Despite its trailer park ennui, the Boynton Diner is kind of fun to hit up for an out-of-the-ordinary and creative breakfast. It's one of those places that names their dishes -- "The Southern," "The Italian Benny," you get the idea. I've tried The Northern, The San Juan and a couple others I can't recall -- all have been pretty good if not slightly too over the top for their own good. So many choices you could eat here every day for a month and not have the same thing twice. With a twist on the traditional Eggs Benedict, The Northern features a couple poached eggs on grilled ham on thick slices of toasted marble rye with rosemary hollandaise. The San Juan puts eggs on top of a grilled chicken breast with poblano peppers and cheese. Both were tasty as hell but came in Paul Bunyan proportions. Top it all off with some hashbrowns for a complete seven-deadly-sin experience. They have pancakes, French toast, frittatas and other typical breakfast meals. Next on my list are the pineapple upside-down pancakes topped with Meyer's rum butter. Holy shit, that would sound good served on a spare tire. Been here for dinner a couple times, and there are plenty of dinner specials to go with the regular menu items, but I prefer breakfasts here, hands down. Try one of the more creative ones. I used to love to eat at the Boynton diner. I hadn't been there in a few years but my wife was in the hospital literally around the corner. My daughter and my sister-in-law were in town to visit my wife and asked me what was close by to get something to eat. I was quick to offer up the Boynton diner. I told them the food was superb. They asked me what I wanted and I asked them to bring me back a Philly cheese steak with no peppers. That sounded good to both of them and they both ordered a Philly cheesesteak to eat in and one to go. When they came back I asked them how it was. Both said the same exact thing "horrible! The steak was chunked last not sliced. It was drypand it taste burnt. The bread was horrible." I was disappointed for them. So I sat down to enjoy the cheesesteak they brought back for me for myself. Wow! They were not exaggerating. I believe they used the burnt pot roast for the steak. It was dry, stringy, over seasoned with what tasted like sage and thyme, and packed with green peppers which I asked for "no peppers." It came with a side of in edible coleslaw. I just moved to the area. I've seen people outside waiting on Sunday's so i figured it give the place a try. Ordered French Dip sandwich and a side or corn beef hash. Sandwich was ok. I should have come with some Au Jou sauce. After a few bites, the sandwich was dry. Corned beef hash was on point. Server who helped me was Sarah. She did great! There wasn't anyone at the host stand when i arrived. If worked for years as a restaurant manager so i know the bizz. Once inside and placing my order, hostess shows up with a bin full of silverware and began rolling silverware. She was rolling the silverware in plain view of the customers. Big no no. Great breakfast spot but be prepared to wait on the weekends as they have quite the following and for good reason. My wife and I probably go here for breakfast twice a month and are always impressed with what we order, not a bad meal in the three or four visits so far. Most recently I had the "Spicy Spanish" omelette. Huge portion and just the right kick of spice for breakfast. The fruit salad was quite soggy and watered down and really turned me off to eating it, but the omelette was filling on it's own. I've had the "Breakfast Chicken Quesadilla" and not only is it delicious, it is LARGE! You are being warned now, don't add any sides or indulge on toast or other bread products, this is a tough one to finish. Very delicious, came out hot and was such a unique breakfast item. i will have this again some time in the future. My one true complaint is the LENGTH of their menu! Not only do you have two pages packed with traditional breakfast dishes, then you face a double-sided menu with approximately 50 more choices. Sometimes less is more. But as I write this, I'm reminded about all of the awesome dishes I've had so maybe it's not! I have not been to Boynton diner in a long time. Here is about brunch hour. I recognize at least one of the waitresses and certainly lady behind the counter. Not many people there at the time, so we got fast service. I got a scrambled egg breakfast with sausage patty and wheat toast. It was all delicious. Daily soups are great and I love the chicken salad sandwich on the multi grain bread. Today I tried I stuffed pepper and it was ok. Wasn't a fan of the tomato sauce(too sweet) but that's my opinion. The staff is perfect, just the right mix of contempt and carefree, makes for fun dining..i never feel rushed or bothered, even on the busiest times. i can enjoy a cigar outside with my meal....just fantastic. The fresh orange juice is great, and i love the coffee. While i love dogs, im not big on dogs dining where people eat, but thankfully. the Best behaved dogs in the area are relaxing and not trying to rip the food off my plate. New owners that care! Large selection of entrees for both the lunch and dinner entrees. We came for lunch and for the price I can over look the watered down Thousand Island dressing, no bread served at lunch, and the stuffing was removed from my 1/2 Greek chicken as I saw partial stuffing around the edges and was told "it" does not come with the lunch special. The other "diner's" at my table thought that their entrée was adequate. The desserts most likely came from a wholesale club? Service was slow at first but overall came out "fine" during our meal. Our server warned us that she was going to put in our "ticket" as a party of 16 was due in soon and didn't want us to get behind them. We were not rushed and took our time eating and relaxing. Portions were above average sized and many tables requested boxes. A nice selection of beverages are included with the specials!!!! Finally.I saw a couple having breakfast for lunch and it did look hearty and ample portioned!! I was told by a friend that this place ruled for breakfast. Being that I love diners, I decided to give it a try. PROS: -Easy access from I-95. -My sausage, pancakes, and eggs were all hot and tasted good. -You can eat outside with your dog. -Huge portions. CONS: -The service wasn't the quickest. -Avoid sitting anywhere near the kitchen. The servers and cooks constantly bicker with each other. It makes for a stressful meal. -My wife asked for dry toast. They messed this request up, twice. -A fly decided to do the backstroke in my wife's coffee. -The home fries were very undercooked and cold. -The veggie omelet was very oily. -The place was very humid. I had sweat dripping down my legs at the end of the meal. -Cash only? Really? It's 2012. Of course they conveniently have an ATM machine next to the cash register. This way, they get cash, and I imagine they get a cut of the ATM convenience fee. $25 (not including tip) for a "so so" breakfast for two people is not my idea of awesome. The cons to this place would be the stupid cash only policy (but they do have an atm).. not the best ambiance (its a hole in the wall diner, but the do have outside seating), not the quickest service, and the worst is many of the meals dont come with bacon!!! Your parents always told you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Like many of us I tend to forget that tidbit as I get older. But the Boynton Diner is my reminder that I should eat good for the first meal of the day. I had seen the Boynton Diner for years in it's spot there on Woolbright and Federal but never went in until maybe a year and a half ago. It now is my favorite place for a hearty breakfast. The atmosphere is much like a traditional diner but with some Florida flare added to things. The menu is rather huge with many specialty items on there like pineapple upside down pancakes and breakfast sliders. But if you are the typical eggs and toast person with a side of bacon don't fear. There are plenty of the traditional items on there. You'd be hard pressed to not find something you would enjoy. My favorite dish is the country fried steak and eggs. The steak is a nice big piece with plenty of gravy. The home fries are absolute must as your potato choice. The service is pretty fast but not ultra personable. They are almost always busy so that may be the contributing factor to not much chit chat. Be sure to bring cash as they do not accept credit cards. I still have a hard time with businesses that still don't accept credit cards in 2012, especially ones that have been around this long. But in the end the Boynton Diner is my absolute favorite spot for breakfast. Whether it is a weekend morning after a long night before or a quick stop on the way to work I can't say enough good things about the food comes out of here. The only excuse for our 1 star experience is lack of adequate staff. Went for breakfast today (Sunday) and was told we'd have a maximum wait time of 15 minutes for 2 people. 30 minutes later, we were seated. Ordered breakfast and was told they couldn't put Canadian bacon in an omelette and that it would have to come as a side dish. What? That makes no sense. Was charged $6.50 extra for the Canadian bacon on our bill. Waitress seemed clueless and it was like pulling teeth to get coffee refilled. Food was at best 2/10 on top of the terrible service. Men's restroom was repulsively filthy per my husband. Don't bother wasting your money and time here. Go elsewhere. read more

We waited over an hour for our food (eggs and pancakes) our server Kris was awesome and very polite kept apologizing for the kitchen being behind and said she comped our meal. The manager comes over with just our kids meal and instead of apologizing she is rude and says well we comped your meal can't do anything else. Mind you we still don't have all of our meals. About 10/15 minutes later our meals come and we asked for the manager again. She never came back. I went inside to talk to the manager about how unhappy we were with her attitude. Once you go there, you'll wonder how you have been missing out on this yummy little place. Very disappointed! As soon as we got there (12:58), we were told that the kitchen closes at 1:30 and the restaurant closes at 2:00. Ok, no problem, I already know what I want. We were seated and proceeded to wait for our server for 10 minutes. Still no problem, although they weren't busy. At about this point a couple comes in with there 2 children and were seated across from us. After another 5 minutes the waitress walks down our aisle (Hooray! I'm hungry and very thirsty). She walks right past us, turns and walks to the table that was just seated and takes their order. I love their food, but this was beyond rude. We waited another couple of minutes and decided to leave. By now 20 minutes had passed and we wondered if they were waiting for 1:30 to hit so they could tell us the kitchen was closed. My boyfriend and I have frequented the Boynton Diner several times with in the past year. It's located in a nondescript strip mall off Woolbright and doesn't look like much from the outside, however we've found that the establishment within holds a lot of delicious and affordable "noms." Breakfast and Lunch plates cost around $8-12 dollars and for the amount of food you receive (not to mention the quality), it's well worth the price. Be prepared and come with cash on hand though, they don't take credit cards here. I'm a fan of the fried catfish and two eggs, which comes with home fries, hash browns, or grits with toast (sourdough, white, whole grain, etc) or biscuits. It's perfect for me since I'm not a huge breakfast fan, but I'm happy if I can combine it with lunch. ^_^ Oh...and the whole wheat/grain toast is AMAZING, there's even seeds and grains embedded within the toast itself (and I usually dislike whole wheat with a burning passion). Usually the wait staff is pretty attentive, the only time that service sort of suffers is during peak hours (breakfast hours on the weekend) when everyone is running about hurriedly and it's understandably harder to pay that extra amount of special attention to your tables. With so many diners in and around Boynton Beach, this is certainly not the one you should pick. They serve standard breakfast fare at prices a little bit above normal. The place is pretty big with a bunch of table inside and a few outside. The bloody marys are cheap but they are not very good. It is an all around OK place to eat but on the weekends you always have to wait for a table. Lats time we went there, we waited 20 minutes for a table. While I was waiting, I went inside to take out money from the ATM (they don't take credit cards), and there were 3 tables open. Why were we waiting? Do they only seat people when they have 4 tables open? Why wait for food that is so-so when there are so many other places to eat? read more
