I thoroughly enjoyed my late morning breakfast at this little unassuming restaurant in Lake Worth. Parking is plentiful and they have a wonderful area for outside seating on a nice day. Inside they have specials menus on removable hanging boards depending on the time of day. They only serve breakfast and lunch and they do a great job at that. My husband ordered the Burrito Special from the board and I ordered the Sirloin Burger and scrambled eggs which came with a bread choice and of course I had to have the fresh baked biscuit. The food was simply delicious and other that we waited 30 minutes to have our food hit the table, we loved the experience. Service was friendly even to a non regular but they seem to have a steady flow of regular diners throughout the morning. Don't forget to check out their desserts spinning in the carosel. read more

Country Inn Restaurant is your typical diner type set up, with an outside patio to enjoy. At 8am in the morning the breakfast bar was full, there were booths and tables open, plenty of room. There was a threat of rain today, so I avoided the outside patio. Walking in I was greeted quickly and was sat promptly. There was plenty of attentive staff. The menu has everything you want for breakfast and they serve lunch too, but I did not have it. The food, seemed fresh, with great visual appeal. Many guests had their biscuits and gravy, I don't know if it was sausage gravy, but must be good, I will return to sit on the outside patio and try the biscuits and gravy, hope it's sausage gravy. I love a good sausage gravy. I enjoyed all the food, the hash browns were fresh shredded potatoes and lacked some flavor, but a little salt fixed that. Next time I will ask if they can smother them with some veggies and or cheese, or maybe the gravy. My initial delivery of food missed my bacon, the server was quick to fix the error, kudos. Greeted promptly. The staff are very friendly and they work very well together. I was offered a beverage quickly upon seating at the counter. I chose a country boy plate because I wanted to try their homemade biscuits. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and I was offered a 3rd cup of coffee. We are in Florida for 4 months each year and we never miss an opportunity to go to the country inn for breakfast with the beautiful orchids the bogandia and Maria's wonderful mural painted on the patio. Lisa is always so accommodating and professional and Luigi helping right behind her make a great team to take care of us. And it's always entertaining to watch the rooster parade around the patio and bother no one. We will be back many times, the food and the service are outstanding. read more

Food was pretty good I had the Caribbean omelette, said it includes spicy chicken, definitely wasn't spicy at all lol not to mention when we arrived my wife told the lady at the front it was a party of four two adults and two kids and this fool looked at us as if we were aliens from another planet. Another woman (older in age) approached us and said we can sit at a booth, she was very nice. The one at the front may have just been a little slow or maybe high. Who knows. Or racist. We're Hispanic. But I don't know I may be "trippin". My wife was happy with her meal, and my two boys were as well. The food was okay, a bit overpriced. They are so busy and worth the little bit of wait you may experience. We looked over the menus and the specials posted around the room before I settled on the City Slicker with a small upcharge for turkey sausage instead of pork sausage and my friends had the Turkey sausage and eggs over easy- served with your choice of bread and side; she opted for the home fries and a biscuit. My other friend had the eggs Benedict with a side of home fries as well. The food came out fairly quickly, and it was all so good. Several diners came in and out and filled the outdoor space as well, which is a testament to how good it was. Went there few weeks back because the lot always is full so I figured it must be a really good place. Lot is always full because there's not much seating so there's a wait. Wife and I both had the bacon and eggs. Tough to mess that up but I ordered rye toast and got whole wheat. Didn't bother to send it back but it wasn't that tough of an order to get right. There are other places to eat and we go to the Palm Diner nearly every weekend so it's looks like that's where we'll continue to go. read more

I know times are hard financially for many businesses, but this is ridiculous. Came here for breakfast...the menu says 1/2 biscuit and gravy $7.50 1 biscuit and gravy $8.50 and large order $9.50. The breakfast special I wanted to order was $11.95 and included a half biscuit and gravy. I asked the girl if I could pay a little more and get the other half of the biscuit. She had the nerve to tell me no, I would need to order the ala carte half for $7.50. Incredible. Rather then give me the lousy half a biscuit, that costs 20 cents to make they'd rather make an unhappy customer who will never, ever return. I was so angry I decided to leave. I should also mention I ordered a chocolate milk and was served a 6 oz cup so small that the straw was literally hanging out of the cup. I should have taken a picture. Even a kiddie cup would have been bigger than this embarrassment they served me. For this tiny cup of milk $4.00. I told the waitersess I'm leaving, I'll go to Moms kitchen or any other restaurant that treats their customers with respect and appreciation. Times are tough, that's no excuse to take advantage of people. The food here used to be amazing, the staff used to be friendly. I don't know if there are new owners here or not, but the waitress that served me today was atrocious, condescending and unpleasant. It's like eating at grandmas house. Mismatched cups in a homey relaxed environment. The menu is good, the food is great, the staff know what they are doing. This place has probably the best sausage gravy I've had anywhere in palm beach county. It can get really crowded and it's not very many tables. So when there's a wait it can take a while. The food leans a bit salty. The coffee is okay, but not stellar. All in all I will certainly keep coming back but probably not during prime hours. read more

I like to visit a place more than once before I do a review, simply for the fact you may come on an off day, get a better server one day, the cook maybe off or new, maybe you yourself are having a not so good day and everything bugs you...etc... Today was NOT a good day, I notice a couple was served much quicker than us and another couple that came in after them due to they knew the server's (regulars) The place is clean, the coffee is good. The food was room temperature at best. My friend had the special which had Hollandaise sauce on it. She had asked for extra sauce, which seem to be right out of the refrigerator. The service was just ok, we had plenty of coffee serviced which was NOT that hot either, not sure what was happening today but was pretty disappointed. I was here one other time and it would have gotten a better review, but after today I'm not sure I will come back any time soon. I have probably drove by this place a thousand times before I went in to see what it had in store. It's cute, homey, and small and serves breakfast and lunch everyday until 3 p.m. They got daily specials for each course and it's a good selection to choose from. The sausage, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich with a side of cheese grits was very good. My husband got the biscuit and gravy with scrambled eggs, and home fries and both of our meals were generous portions for us to enjoy. The prices are reasonable and the hospitality is wonderful. Our waitress was very attentive and she kept our mugs full and table clean after we were done. It took a while to get the check, which was kind of odd since everything was on point with the service. However, it's nice to see that the family owned business is still going after all of these years. We've driven by this place so many times, but usually it has been closed (only open for breakfast and lunch) or we've been on our way to or from somewhere and just didn't have time to stop. It is small inside. We were lucky to get the last table/booth open. Service was friendly and okay. They did stop by once to refill coffee. But otherwise they were just busy with everyone else. We had to wait to get our bill and to pay. I didn't see the specials on the wall til after I'd ordered and none were mentioned. The side of biscuits with gravy were very good -- nice chunky bits of sausage and very peppery. I could only manage half of my order. The corned beef hash was disappointing -- right from the can. Luckily I like canned. But I'll know not to get that in future. Prices were decent. One thing I forgot is that sometimes "country" also equals redneck. The table next to us of old codgers (all with hearing problems, by the volume of their conversation) were spewing some very right wing comments which we tried to ignore.
