Cute local diner with a reputation for good breakfast -- I finally had to see for myself. I stopped in on a Saturday morning with my best friend, and we were promptly greeted and told to seat ourselves wherever we liked. We arrived just ahead of the morning rush and snagged a booth; within about ten minutes, the place had completely filled up. The layout includes booths, tables, and a wraparound bar seating area -- small, but with plenty of room. Our waitress was friendly and quickly brought us coffee and water while we looked over the menu. We both went with the French toast combo. My friend ordered her eggs over easy and requested a side of plain toast to go with them; I got scrambled eggs, bacon, and hash browns alongside two slices of French toast. The food itself was tasty -- nothing overcooked or greasy. Here's where things went sideways. The side of toast never arrived, and our waitress never came back to check on us. We had to flag down another server to ask about it and get drink refills. That server was also friendly, but the toast still didn't come. Someone else eventually dropped off our check, and we had to ask for the $3.99 toast charge to be removed from the bill. When we went to pay, we wanted to split the check between two cards -- something we had requested at the very beginning -- but the person at the register didn't know how to do it. The food was genuinely good, and I'll give them grace since it was a busy Saturday morning. But between the forgotten order, the lack of table presence, and the payment confusion, the service left a lot to be desired. I would give them another try, just not rushing to do so. read more

In the past two years, the service in this restaurant has been reduced to sub par. This was our go to for breakfast/lunch and we would bring anyone visiting there for guaranteed great service and food. Now you walk in and it's like the staff never worked in a restaurant before. My fiancé and i visited the Owl Country Grille while on vacation and it was a great experience! We arrived and the parking was a little limited but that didn't stop us. We were sat quickly and greeted by our server who was a nice lady that took great care of us! I don't remember exactly i got was called but I got french toast, eggs and bacon and stole a little of my partners biscuits and gravy. Saw an ad for the Owl restaurant and we like breakfast food, so we stopped by. The decor was fairly out-dated and the owl theme seemed a bit overdone, but the staff was very friendly so we sat down and had a decent meal. The menu featured a wide variety of egg-based dishes including omelets and various combinations of eggs, bacon/sausage, potatoes, french toast/pancakes. I had 2 blueberry pancakes. They were fluffy, had a decent number of blueberries and were above average in taste, although not particularly large. My husband had the Owl, consisting of 2 eggs, 4 slices of bacon and 2 small pancakes. Standard fare with a standard taste. My brother had 2 eggs, 4 slices of bacon and a bagel. The bagel wasn't particularly fresh, which was a disappointment. And the server didn't ask how he wanted the bacon cooked, so it came out well-done. If you want less done bacon, be sure to specify that when ordering! Overall, a decent breakfast at a reasonable, but not inexpensive, price. Will we come back? Maybe... We decided to try this place for breakfast as it showed up with pretty good reviews. It's easy to find and looks like it gets pretty busy. We got her around 8:45 am Sunday We were greeted immediately and told to sit wherever we like and the waitress was there in a jiffy to get our drink order. I got their western omelet with cheese, my husband got the "Country breakfast" which is 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy, 2 eggs and your choice of bacon or sausage. He got the bacon and we ordered a side of the turkey sausage because it looked good on somebody's yelp photo. Our breakfast was served quickly. I ordered my rye lightly toasted and dry. It came out pretty well done with butter. The peppers In the western are from a can - and as canned peppers typically are they've were mushy and not very green. The onions were cooked until they were mushy and translucent (if onions come in a can these are certainly canned as well, maybe frozen? Certainly not fresh ) I am so glad I did not order the veggie omelet as I like fresh veggies. They potatoes were just OK, the turkey sausage was rubbery and not very good. The sausage gravy was cold and lacking sausage and bland.. When we went up to the register to pay we showed the lady our yelp coupon and at first she said that's not for them. I showed her it was for this restaurant and she said he was no longer doing Yelp and she had to go ask them if she could remove the 10%. She came back and told us sorry he's not honoring it. My husband loves the corn beef hash, and I love the fact that they have gluten-free bread and a gluten-free bread that doesn't taste like sawdust or is stale. Sometimes the service is a little bit slow, but who needs to be in a rush on Sunday morning . Unlike other places, it will not be 50 bucks to go at breakfast here. Went today to the Owl Country Grill and met 5 other friends for lunch today. Not only was the food and service excellent as usual, but I have something else IMPORTANT to add. Two of my friends fell on the cement on their way into the restaurant. Within moments, Jim and Kelly, the owners were on the scene. They ran outside to help the two women up and helped them into the restaurant and sat them down. They were both bleeding from their fall. One from the back of her head and the other from her elbow. They called the ambulance service and they bandaged and check the women's vitals. Thankfully, they were well enough to stay for lunch. Kelly ran out to buy Tylenol for one of the women and Jim ban-dished one of the women again who was bleeding through the gauze. They were simply amazing as was all the staff from the moment we walked in until they helped us out to our car. True heroes ! We are all so grateful. We had a decent brunch here the other day. We'd eaten breakfast early and got here early as well for lunch. I'd read online that they had biscuits and gravy and was craving some. I'd also read that they had good corned beef hash. So even before we sat down, I'd decided what I wanted to order. When we got there, the counter was fairly full, but there were a couple booths and all the tables were open. We chose a booth close enough to hear all the singing and chatter in the kitchen. I still am curious to know who said -- I may be ##%%# but at least I'm honest! We had our order taken fairly soon. I was disappointed to learn that they didn't have any sausage gravy that day as they had a problem and had to throw it all out. So I wound up ordering the corned beef hash and a single biscuit which the server suggested I get split and buttered on the grill. My husband ordered one of their blackboard specials -- a half waffle with eggs and a choice of bacon or sausage. We waited about 20 minutes for our food. I said to my husband (who luckily had gotten coffee) that if he wasn't hungry when we came in, he certainly would be now. I did see one gal putting together a takeout order but... Anyhow, his food was fine. The waffle was cool enough that the butter didn't melt on it; but his bacon was crispy as ordered. My corned beef hash was okay -- I don't think it was house made, but I like Libby's. And I added ketchup. My biscuit was cold -- but any biscuit is better than none. We were okay with our meal. At the cash register, my husband showed his Yelp discount for checking in, and one guy started telling us how it was a scam! Yelp was a scam! And they aren't related to any other restaurants (not sure what he meant). We would have come here any way without the discount offered online -- I like trying out new places -- but it really wasn't our fault that it was on the Yelp site. This was my first visit here. All the staff seem friendly. I showed them my Yelp check in for 10% off the check, they said they do not do that, this is a mistake on Yelp. I was ok with that. However the owner who also looked like the cook approached our table and explain that he has contacted Yelp many times to remove this 10% coupon check in. He explain there is a Green Owl in Delray and he thinks they the 2 restaurants confused. He asked to see the coupon but I couldn't pull it up again. I explained I was ok with it. So to the food! lol The food was good! Hot and cooked to perfection, the coffee was good and that is the most important thing for me! So I will go back. Come and join me! read more

Went to The Owl for breakfast. Pretty hard to rate breakfast but everyone happy with their eggs, etc. I, on the other hand, had pancakes and they were great. Might want to get 2 rather than 3 as they were a nice size. Not sure what they did (cornmeal?) but they had way more taste than regular flour pancakes and I really enjoyed them. Cute place but....very high ceiling making for a bit of an "echo" and the "enthusiasm" of a few of the employees made for a pretty noisy" experience. But service was good. That said, think it's a do over and will try lunch next time and let you know. read more

Good breakfast food, good service. Seems like you can get in and out, however, we sat at the bar so we didn't have to wait for a table, and got drinks fast, but the food took 30 minutes to get to us. They were at about 75% capacity. Didn't expect a thirty minute wait for food for two, for a grilled cheese, one egg, one strip of bacon and two hot cakes. That was kinda weird at a breakfast place. They stay busy so seems very frequented and good. Probably will be back and give them another try. The prices are inexpensive compared to elsewhere with the same menu. the "OWL" is a GREAT Place to enjoy breakfast, brunch, or lunch, their menu has many choices. They are quiche is outstanding, the service is top-notch, it is a friendly, welcoming environment, where you can relax on there, Lanai or eat inside. We enjoy eating on their lanai under the umbrellas with a warm breeze coming through. Parking is in front and on the side if you are a senior look for their specials on the back of the menu you won't be disappointed. It is my favorite place in Boynton Beach to eat. read more
